Loved this pub, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. The customer service was second to none of any of the pubs I've been to before. Good selection of alcohol. Exceeded my expectations. Overall extremely happy with the pub and staff, would definitely return and 100000% recommend to anyone.

We visited today and had the best service and the most amazing lunch , I had the texan chicken ciabatta and my husband had a burger

Fabulous food and service

Where to start, the meal was for our writing club Christmas lunch.  The food had been pre ordered and there were ten of us.
The food came out in dribs and drabs, I had almost finished my main course, when the last of the dishes were served.
The beef ordered by some was really a piece of fat masquerading as meat.
The fancy hot dog with caramelised onions for £16 ( see photo) wouldn’t even have been served in a greasy spoon.  The pub did begrudgingly refund the money for that.
However, the worst is yet to come. Half of the table had been drinking the water provided, when we realised that a slug had taken up residence in the water jug from which we had been drinking.  The container was glass, so no excuse for not spotting it and heaven knows when it had last been cleaned.
The water was replaced and we then had to ask for the glasses to be changed.
Was there an apology or an attempt at amends.  No the pub couldn’t care less.  As has since been demonstrated by the ignoring of emails sent out lining our concerns.
A really poor experience, which blighted what should have been a festive celebration.

We decided to eat at the Red Lion because it was a traditional dog friendly pub and the food looked very good value.  It was a 20 minute walk in the pouring rain so we were soaked by the time we got there. We found a nice alcoves window table that gave us some space to dry off. We ordered Sirloin Steak, a G/T and a pint. To my astonishment it came to well under £50. The food was perfect and the service was friendly and efficient. This is a perfect Cotswold pub.

Avoid! Menu outside is not accurate. No light items or sandwiches. Took 40 minutes to get a salad of 4 ingredients, a kids meal and two starters. Music blaring from a speaker above the table outside. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else. Attitude of manager was ‘sorry, not sorry’.

Outstanding food. Very unpretentious. What you see on the menu is exactly what you get. No nonsense well cooked and tasty grub. No worries paying for something this good. Understand the Sunday lunch is pretty good too. Will try next time l am around the area.

Hidden gem

Best Sunday roast I’ve had for a long time! I had chicken, a huge plateful of vegetables, roast potatoes, and half a chicken! Lots of lovely gravy. Tasted like I’d made it at home. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Superb roast!

Lovely pub set in the beautiful town of Chipping Campden. I had a quick look around and it’s got a fantastic beer garden and another separate bar that is accessed through the beer garden. 
We visited as a family of 8 members and booked in advance. 2of our party were not going to make it so I called the pub to notify them the booking would be for six. About 1/2hour before our booked time the two late comers informed me they would make it so I popped into the pub to change the booking back to six…oh, and Andre’s a high chair. The table had been reset to 6 but they added the additional 2 1/2 no issues. 
Staff were all friendly and helpful
Food was lovely! Came out in a timely manor and all together. 
Great prices too. 
I’ve always found You can’t go wrong with a Greene King pub.

Great pub with amazing beer garden

My family and I popped in while visiting the area. This is a very nice place to come for a pub lunch. This is a very busy place to come to for a meal. Food and service is good and staff are friendly and professional. Wouldn’t mind coming back here again.

Came in for lunch

A typical Cotswolds Village Pub. Huge log fire which we sat beside. Cracking pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord and a lovely plate of Fish & Chips with home made Tartar Sauce made with gherkins.
Would we go again, you bet we would.
