We booked the Salford Inn for a one night stay this weekend. There is so much potential, but unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to expectation. The room was located in an outbuilding at the back of the car park, perfectly pleasant. The “breakfast basket” however was not. The fridge was not to temperature and the milk was warm and curdled, the ham was half eaten and one of the bottles of orange juice had the seal broken and someone had previously taken a sip out of it. Needless to say, we didn’t touch any of this. When we returned from our evening meal in Chipping Norton we had a quick drink at the bar before heading back to the room, we were asked for full payment of our stay. We wanted to drop the key back this morning, to air our experience, but no-one to be seen- just left the key in the room instead. Cheap price for one night, but the stay sadly reflects this. 

Shame

Just got back from a 2 night stay with my other half.
Arrived early Thursday afternoon and had a few drinks in the pub until we could check in.
Pub was lovely, owner was very friendly and talkative, he walked me over to the room we would be staying in. 
The room was at the end of a small courtyard, and was built in cotswolds Stone, beautiful from the outside, inside it had a really nice decor with a massive bed, even starfishing you couldn’t reach each side, bathroom was great and had an automatic light, toiletries were provided.
The room had a mini oven and fridge, which had all continental breakfast in for the next morning, lots of tea and coffee sachets were provided. Even had a small bench outside for I’d you wanted to eat it out there, would be lovey to do this in the Summer 
We decided to eat at the pub on both our nights, and the food did not disappoint. 
Prawns in chilli sauce and steak and ale pie for the first night and then steak in peppercorn sauce the next, steak cooked exactly how I wanted it. Would highly recommend this pub just for the food alone, the drinks were great, we were on cider but was advised to try the cotswolds cider called shape shifter made from ginger and lime, was lovely and then got put onto it mixed with aspalls cider (half and half).

This is a lovey place to stay, just outside Chipping Norton, walking distance if that’s what you like to do, but would highly recommend it just for the food alone, the owners make you feel really welcome, would definitely revisit here in the Summertime. 


Cheeky little hideaway 

My sister and I booked one night here to attend a meeting in Chipping Norton. Although I requested a twin, a double had been made up, but this was very quickly noticed and changed by Alex. 
We needed to eat earlier than normal food times, but again this was no problem and our excellent meal was cooked when we asked for it. 
The pub is friendly and welcoming, the three rooms are in a separate building, so no pub noise, and the continental breakfast is left in a fridge in the room for you. So not for those wanting a traditional English, but perfectly adequate.

Friendly and welcoming

Whilst we only stayed one night in this gem, we could all see it would be a great base for a relaxing visit to the Cotswolds. We were a group of four and rented two bedrooms at the bottom of the garden attached to the pub, The Salford Inn. The rooms were modern, clean, comfortable, well equipped and en-suite. We ate in the pub and The menu choices were plentiful, the food for four adults having three courses each, all different meals came with nothing but praise!! Highly recommended. 

Breakfast is provided in your room, refrigerated and of continental style, it was a delight to sit outdoors on the picnic bench in the morning sun enjoying the variety of food on offer. We ate dinner in the pub the day we arrived and the food was great. All four of us had a different meal with no complaints. 

The owner was great with communications and assisted us with information about our mobility concerns. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Salford Inn to others.

Ideal base for touring

Truly excellent fish and chips, the tartare sauce is the best ive tasted. Great value and hospitality, it's always good to see a chef who clearly is good at and enjoys his craft. They also had some great ales and cider on draft.

Great pub dining experience

have been in two nights,one for a meal and the other for drinks. Food was excellent and the welcome was warm and friendly from all the staff and the customers, the variety of drinks,especially the gin, was excellent, the pub is very comfortable and well presented and made for a great place to relax and unwind at the end of the day

Amazing place. Accomodation cosy.style+. Dinner, music, people and food are superb.
Genuine love of food. Ambience ++. Share time with other people loving what they are doing. 
We had Fish pie and rack of lamb...yumbo.😊😊

Holiday

Myself and my partner came here for dinner and a few drinks. When we arrived the gentleman behind the bar was so friendly and welcoming. Straight away we fell in love with the cosy place. 
We sat outside in the beautiful courtyard in the sunshine and shortly followed the food. 
It was delicious! Excellent menu with plenty to choose from for all appetites! My partner had the beef which was cooked to perfection and the flavours were just divine. 
We will definitely be coming back here. Couldn’t fault anything. 
Amazing.
