Brilliant pub. Cosy accommodation. Good food. Excellent staff.  Very clean throughout. Good for local beers. In a hurry so I am padding this review out to achieve the minimum 200 characters. Anyway you get the idea!

Brilliant pub

Attending a wedding and  made a little holiday out of it. Stayed 4-nights. 
Arrived Saturday night. Had pre-booked dinner in the restaurant.

The room was immaculate. Hospitality tray refreshed daily and also contained bottled water. The bathroom had lovely cosmetics - bar soap,  shower gel, shampoo and conditioner replenished. Would prefer to see large dispensers attached to the wall to avoid plastic waste but that is just a preference. The bathroom was immaculate and a credit to the housekeeper. Fantastic.
I took a magnifying mirror so I could get my wedding make up right so no issues. 
Room was a little dark (Room 7) but this is a beautiful charming country pub and to be expected.

Breakfast? Brilliant. Anything you wanted…and plenty of it.

Ate in the reasonably priced restaurant 2 nights. Faultless.

Dog friendly…even towels, dog menu and treats!!
Highly recommended with lovely, polite staff.

Great accommodation , great food and brilliant for dogs. Their attention to detail is an example that others should follow as it’s the best pub I have stayed in ever!

This is a boutique place to stay 
Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist villages
Fantastic breakfast
Evening meals lovely, well prepared and staff keen to please and helpful. 
Highly recommended.
Rooms clean and tired

Hidden Gem

Only came for the food not to stay. Saying that if the food is anything to go by I wouldn't mind staying.
Second time here for food and it's motivated my to write this. 
Food 10 outta 10. Sorry for the clean plate pic but tuff s*** I'd eaten it all. 😋

Omg the food.

The Wi-Fi is terrible.  It is up and down, and is really infuriating.  It might be the room that I was in, but then boosters/ extenders are necessary.

The TV (Freeview) was flaky.  I would have used my iPad instead, but see comment above.

Something needs to be done about the LCD display on the radiator.  You can't turn it off (it was locked) and it is so bright that it illuminates the whole room!

I did have a decent sleep and the food (evening meal and breakfast) were both excellent, but the other niggles won't have me rushing back.

Oh - the car park is tiny too, and so you'll most likely need to park on the street.  That's not a massive issue, but it is worth pointing out that they only have space for about 4 cars for the pub, restaurant and hotel users.

Not the best for business travel

We stayed at the masons arms for 1 night on our way from Glasgow to Cornwall. It was perfect for a 1 night stay. Very pretty, traditional building with pretty flower baskets and next to village green. 
Situated in a pretty, typically cotswolds village and well located for accessing other areas of the cotswolds too. We particularly liked Burton On The Water to visit! 

All staff are very friendly, Tanya was great with all pre arrival info and bookings etc. 
Our double room was nice, quaint with beams etc but modern and tasteful, just what we were looking for!
Unfortunately one blind was broken and couldn't be lifted which made the room quite dark and there was some dust and cracking paint on walls etc but it is an old building so some can be expected. A wee touch up in the rooms wouldn't go a miss. Mattress quite thin and springy but just passable for 1 night and new duvet cover needed as mine had large tear on top edge. 

The vegan breakfast was realy lovely, nicest vegan sausages we've had, generous portion too and they have Oatly milk and vegan butter etc which is great! Had a fan in our room on arrival which was appreciated as it was warm and only 1 window opened.

Sunday menu was very limited for vegan options, nothing vegan as standard on Sunday menu which was dissapointing as was advised there were vegan options offered as standard.
After asking the girl checked and stated the risotto could be made vegan but we don't really like risotto and wasn't the kind of Sunday dinner we had in mind so sadly had to go elsewhere. 

The side door for entry to rooms was handy as pub is usually very busy and small to navigate with luggage etc.  Lovely that its dog friendly, was able to park outside both days and the village green is lovely to sit for a drink. Shower was good as we're toiletries. Had a dressing table and mirror as well, rooms well equipped and had everything we needed. 

Would consider returning for right price if staying in cotswolds again!

Pretty village inn with a lovely breakfast!

What a lovely way to spend a quiet evening eating tasty home cooked food served with a smile. We highly recommend a visit to the Masons Arms to sample these delicious pub meals for anyone visiting the Cotswolds. We’ll definitely return on our next visit to the area.

Relax and enjoy

Went to the mason arms this evening. Ordered their surf turf and earth. Comprised of a 10oz steak some garlic butter cooked king prawns which came with a potato wedge. £28

I was hugely disappointed. Asked for a medium rare steak. It came well done, said to 2 different members of staff it wasn’t right and both didn’t care and didn’t offer to get it changed. 
Prawns didn’t have any garlic butter flavour to them. Basically plain prawns. It also came with no veg at all but there was no offer of veg or even a mention that it doesn’t come with veg. 

I’m actually really annoyed by this because I’ve been there 3 times and loved it! 
But we were let down tonight and none of the staff seemed to care. 
Even when paying the bill I mentioned about I was dissatisfied with my meal but they said there’s nothing they can do. 

Certainly won’t be going back for a while

Dinner

Visited last night and had the most gorgeous steak, cooked to perfection. My only criticism is that I would have preferred some double or even better, triple cooked chips to go with it rather than fries!
