I spent many visits to my Auntie’s house in North Cerney from 1974 onwards. The Bathurst Arms was a big part of our visits and it was a wonderful return to spend a night in the Hotel itself. it could not have been more welcoming, warm and friendly. our room was just what we wanted, with all the nice touches . comfortable, clean, cosy. We had reserved dinner,great menu, and our food was lovely. in the meantime i met a few of the locals, and chatted about  my time there. they were a good bunch and had recollections of people I’d known. 
the beer is well kept, as was the wine.  Breafast was perfect, beautifully set  out , fresh ingredients and delicious. The staff are excellent, very efficient and helpful. The owners have been there for less than a year, and , they are doing a great job.  we felt really good about our visit, thank you . we will return in the summer, so Jasmine, i promise to buy the guys a drink . steve and lyn

it was all that we had hoped for. 

The food was unbearable for the price... £15 for a halluimi salad which was paired with oranges and a few lettuce leaves. No flavour at all. 
We asked for a medium steak, it came raw red and we couldn't send it back because the kitchen had closed at 8pm!!! 

Such a shame as the pub has huge potential to be amazing. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Severely over priced for the poor quality of food...

The new landlady introduced herself on arrival and explained that she had a way to go with upgrades. Room was small, dinner was good, breakfast less so, but staff were cheery throughout. Bar area good. Very attractive exterior, a babbling brook at the end of the garden, all set in a picturesque village. Why did the waiter need to wear a baseball cap?

Nice pub to stay.

A fantastically warm welcome awaits you - every member of staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms very comfortable and relaxing. Great walks on your doorstep. 

A brilliant location in the heart of the Cotswolds. Great for visiting Cirencester and surrounding area.

The landlords and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was great and the rooms were lovely. We stayed for two nights on business although I was with my wife - a bonus! The rooms were clean and well set up and they were serviced when requested. We’ll definitely book again!

A gem, hiding in the Cotswolds

Be warned, if you are not keen to sit with out of control children and prefer home style cooking this is not for you.
Very short of staff so waiting time is very long. The one waiter who was working extremely hard tried his best to seat us away from the noisy crèche . Not the kids fault, they were probably hungry and tired of waiting for food. We were prepared to put up with the noise as it was Sunday and “family “ time. Sadly when the food arrived it was very poor. ?.? shop packet roast potatoes, overcooked packet Yorkshire puds ( so hard knife wouldn’t cut them) beef overcooked and grey. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Sunday roast worse I have ever tried to ear

Poor service. Sub standard food. Cold dining, not a nice experience .
Room was cold, waited over half hour for wine and then another 10 minutes for glasses! 
Another 45 mins for starters 
Another 40 mins for main meals. 
Terrible 😞 
Won’t be visiting again

Not recommending this pub

We booked the restaurant for lunch, arrived on time, ordered promptly and waited.  And waited.   Met a few dogs at adjacent tables and had a useful discussion on domestic matters. 

At 45 minutes we nagged the staff.  At 60 minutes we left without having any food, or even seeing any.  The group at the next table were less patient.

We waited an hour and left unfed

The most wonderful pub with roaring fires , tasteful decor , lovely friendly staff .
The food was top notch - interesting flavour combinations and all tasted so fresh . We will definitely return and hopefully when we can sit outside in the lovely garden.

Such an enjoyable and delicious experience

I have been touring the Cotswolds with my partner and we passed a pink country pub in a small village.  We just had to pop in.   I’m so glad we did.   The staff were very welcoming and sat us by the fire on a cold wet day.   We had a wonderful pint of local ale and then decided to look at the lunch menu.  I ate the venison and my other half had the marrow steak.    Both were outstanding.   
We will defiantly visit again when in the area.
