Lovely huge grounds to explore. 
I camped here in April 2023. As a solo female traveller and dog. 
I felt safe. 
The Manor staff and gardeners are friendly and accommodating. 
I booked an extra night whilst there. As I enjoyed it that much. 
You can go into the Manor ( bar / reception area ) 
Beautiful on the river ribble, which is accessible. 
Loads of activities for kids, u need to pre book the activities day. At extra cost. 
Definitely will return. 
Great base. For exploring the local area

All staff were helpful.
Breakfast buffet from 7.30am, lot of choice.  Highlights of evening meals were the creamy sauces.
Bedroom was clean.
Hall architecturally interesting - posh sweeping staircase.

Waddow Hall is definitely worth a stay as an outdoor activity base. It is a hostel owned by the Girlguiding association. I stayed in a top floor room and whilst not luxurious, the room was clean and the shower powerful. Breakfast was excellent, with a full breakfast from a heated range and good toaster. Not a place for a romantic weekend, but great value.

Weekend stay

We had a lovely relaxing family holiday staying in Ranger Cottage. The cottage was welcoming and very comfortable. We made full use of the lovely big kitchen, and lounge/dining area. Activities were also fun. It is a beautiful site, and the staff are extremely helpful. We will be returning soon.

32 of us aged 7 to 81 stayed 24 hours for a family gathering and Waddow was absolutely superb dining (sophisticated,excellent) accommodation (it felt like 4 star)
The staff could not have been more helpful, cheerfully attending to every detail.Antoinette dressed the dinner table beautifully with freshly cut roses. The dinner setting was very special, exactly as we had hoped. We all grass sledged after our House Tour that started our stay. After dinner we had a campfire. Loud singing into the night, Clitheroe castle in the distance. After a full English which was to the max, we had archery then canoeing. A very generous and delicious buffet lunch before zip lining - great comedy. We parted, warm with affection for all, grateful to Waddow for the memories. 

Fabulous family gathering at Waddow Hall

Just back from a wonderful weekend with 31 family members staying at Waddow Hall. All the rooms were en-suite and very comfortable 😁. The views overlooking the river were spectacular! The activities we chose (grass sledging, archery, canoeing and the zip wire were enjoyed by all - ages ranging from 7 to 81! Also the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. And the food was lovely - plentiful too! Highly recommended👌

A wonderful place to stay!

I stayed at Waddow hall when I was going to a wedding stunning views very tranquil setting lovely staff and very clean environment and room  breakfast was also very nice really enjoyed my stay beautiful

Welcoming good service

Visited with friends to attend the Christmas market and then a beautiful lunch. Waddow looked stunning both indoors and outdoors and the day was the start to our Christmas. Lunch was amazing and commenced with mulled wine. The staff treated us like royalty and we will return next December.

Christmas Lunch

My wife and myself were given an attic room at the top of 4 flights of stairs. We are both in our 70's. There were two single beds placed end to end underneath roof timbers - I cracked my head badly on the first night by simply sitting up in bed. There were no proper windows, just two barely adequate velux windows in the roof - only one of which could be opened, consequently the room became so hot and airless that sleep was almost impossible. The "en-suite" was barely large enough to be usable (our touring caravan has a bigger washroom and shower) the decor is drab and patched. I don't know what the other rooms are like, but avoid at all costs being shoved into the attic! This room has clearly been shoehorned in as an afterthought.Certainly not worth the price. Having said that, the grounds and settings are really lovely.

Awful attic room

As a long time member of Girl Scouts USA it was a joy being at a Girl Guide Training Center in England.  This old estate was given to the Guide Association for training of adults and for girls to camp. The house history is fascinating and a joy of comfort.  The river along the front and wide areas for out-door camping for girls was delightful.
