We spent a couple of nights in October, in order to ease pressure on the home of our son & his family that we were visiting close by.
The house and garden are fabulous and in a peaceful location. It is a very welcoming environment, comfortable and immaculately clean.  Attention to detail is first class. David & Paul are really good hosts. Breakfast is excellent, and with all guests able to sit round a large table enjoying a good chat, this is a real bonus. Our favourite b & b by a country mile.  We’ll be back.

Amazingly good

Thank you David and Paul for yet another wonderful few days we recently spent with our friends at your first class B&B.   Everything always perfect - the beautiful house, the location, the greeting we always get from you, the comfy beds and spotless accommodation and as for the breakfast - you could teach some 5* places a thing or two!  We’ll be back!

Never disappoints!

My three sons and I spent a few nights in late September 2023 at the Poplars. This was our third visit since 2018, and we plan to go again if at all possible because we were expertly hosted by David and Paul, our rooms were comfortable, the breakfasts were fantastic, and the whole environment conducive to a relaxed and peaceful holiday. This area of Suffolk has much to offer and we have not exhausted all the possibilities. Top marks to David and Paul for running a great establishment.

Wonderful time at The Poplars Farmhouse

This was the best B & B I have ever stayed in.  The house is beautiful.  On arrival we were made very welcome and enjoyed a cup of tea and cake in the fabulous garden.  Nothing was too much trouble.  One highlight was breakfast with faultless food and service and I loved that all guests sat around a large table and had such an enjoyable chat.  I would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent B & B

A peaceful place & house so full of character!  David & Paul our hosts had every detail covered including a beautiful prepared full breakfast.  A bowl of fresh fruit and homemade yogurt was a real treat 


A really restful and peaceful stay in Suffolk

This b and b is one of the most peaceful and relaxing places we have been too. The farmhouse is amazing, tucked away at the end of a road and completely isolated. The rooms are so comfortable. We stayed in the Gardenia room a few months prior to our last visit and this visit we stayed in the beamed room. Both rooms have lovely views. The ensuite bathrooms are of a very good size and provide you with the usual toiletries. Fresh milk is available for teas and coffees. There was even lovely cake offered to uswhen we returned after a day sightseeing. It was yummy as expected. The hosts are perfect, producing the most marvellous breakfast with homemade yoghurt, fruit compote and preserves. They know a lot about the local area and can recommend lovely villages like Lavenham and Long Melford to visit.
Myself and my husband would not hesitate to recommend the Poplars Farmhouse to anyone who loves to get away and off the beaten track. 

So peaceful and welcoming

We only stayed one night which was not enough.  Absolutely everything - the location, the stunning house, our accommodation, the breakfast and our host, David - just perfect.   We’d give more than five stars if we could.  We will most definitely be back!!


Simply the best!

This is indeed the best a B & B can be, everyone else running one should come here to see how it should be done. Great attention to detail and David has a great sense of humour too while Paul's cooking is exemplary . Just wonderful !

Superb B & B

A really wonderful place to stay. A very warm and friendly welcome. Crisp white bed linen, fluffy towels and nice toiletries.  Delicious outstanding breakfast. Also helpful advice on places to visit.

perfect B&B for us. Wonderfully secluded, building full of historic character delightfully furnished. Very comfortable room good breakfast and all round service ie tea and cake in the afternoon if you are around. Charming host who makes you feel at home. Can't think of a sinlge negative
