Great place to relax
Food was the best we have had for a long time all the staff made us feel very welcome every think was clean and tidy also if there was anything that we needed the staff whould do there best to help

We had booked for 2 nights but cut our stay short as it was far too cold in the diana suite. Decor was lovely though. We had asked for extra blankets and got ignored so we booked into another hotel which we had to turn thr heating down in as was too hot. We were made to feel like it was all in our heads but it was that cold we slept in our clothes and when up we had our coats on. We only got a refund for the 2nd night and owner refused to give us our money back for the night we stayed even though we hardly slept. Only a standard double bed when advertised as super king. Very disappointed. We wanted a relaxing weekend away but it didnt happen. 

Far too cold

On first impressions, the room was well presented and clean and the owner very friendly and polite upon greeting us.

We were booked in to stay here for 2 nights, but unfortunately had to cut our stay short due to the room being extremely cold. Myself and partner had to sleep under a duvet, an extra blanket and our clothes, and even then, we were still very cold.

We did notice that the thermostat for the building was outside our room, and was set to under 20 degrees celcius, which in itself is at least 3 degrees below average room temperature, and since it is a very old building, this is inadequete to bring the building to room temperature. 

We advised the hotellier of the extreme coldness in the room, and that we hardly slept, and we were simply patronized. We were told that the hotellier could "easily" sit in the room with a t-shirt on and when I pointed out that there was a draft at each window and fireplace, I was told that people dont tend to stand at windows.

The decor is stunning, and I'd reccommend for summer weather, but the heating system certainly isn't sufficient for the age and size of the building.

Freezing cold room

I booked this B&B to stay for a wedding nearby. We booked three of the rooms Victoria and I think the Albert which is a room that has a shared bathroom. I booked the Diana “King-Suite-Private Bathroom” 

Location was great for what we needed, close to restaurants, pubs and amenities and the b&b is positioned right next to the free public parking.

Service was fantastic we received a text from Maxine who works very hard and she was brilliant. She even came by early to check us in and was very informative about the local area and where to go for food and drinks.

Diana Suite- The room was huge and clean, however, There is nowhere to hang clothes, etc if that is needed.

Just to note that whilst this comes with a private bathroom it is completely separate to the bedroom and is not locked. There is also no way to wash your hair which was quite annoying for me as I needed to be quick to get ready for the wedding. Luckily we had booked with other couples so I used the one in the Victoria but if you book and fancy washing your hair you may need to use a cup from the room. But the pros - it’s a lovely bath and Bathroom was clean and warm. 

There is a note in the welcome pack that mentions the hot water is provided from a single tank, that covers 3 bathrooms, and therefore can run out resulting in you needing to wait for it to heat up once more, which isn’t ideal consider two of the bathrooms only have baths. A couple of my friends had cold showers due to this. 

Breakfast - Croissants, toast, cereal, teas and coffees, That was fine for me.  

The Victoria bathroom was big and has a jacuzzi bath (jets didn’t work) with a shower head and a walk-in wardrobe which was very nice. 

Shared bathroom was clean and a good size.

Good but definitely could do with some improvements 

Initially booked a smaller room but upon looking across the hall i could see a nice room called the victoria suite which was empty and it looked much nicer also it had an ensuite which we thought was best for us.
called the owner of the place and asked to be upgraded with an extra fee of course .
initially we were so busy didnt notice Heating was not on. it started to get really cold in the room so i contacted the owner to enquiry about this.
was told the heating comes on at certain times meaning u cant turn it on whenever you want. it was freezing, even after the heating came on in the evening the heater did not warm the room and we slept in a freezing room...   even tho we paid extra for our ensuite , there was no hot water in the evening to take a bath and we had to use the outside public/shared shower, also Breakfast was appalling and there was not much choice, food was not fresh not very appealing. only positive thing  have to say is the rooms were clean... Overall it was a very bad experience and when i contacted the owner and complained about all the issues i didn't even get a reply.
Needless to say that even tho i needed a room for the next night i have decided to stay somewhere else. it was cheaper but the room and the services were 10 times better.

Disappointed with stay.

We decided to use this hotel as a base to watch the Solheim Cup at nearby Gleneagles so booked and had to pay in full a year in advance. Just 10 days before our trip we noticed an email from the booking site that without any notice our booking had been cancelled by the hotel leaving us little time to find alternative accomodation. If we habnt seen the cancellation email we would have had a 250 mile drive with no room at the end of it.

I think that this treatment is appalling as it put us in a difficult situation without the courtesy of any explanation. Needless to say we wont use this hotel again and would warn anyone else about using it.

Abysmal Treatment

A weekend away for our anniversary to the town where we spent our honeymoon.
Host does not stay on site which was never mentioned.

We stayed in the Diana "suite" which you had to leave onto a communal hallway to access the bathroom which was exclusive use. There were no toiletries supplied, not even a bar of soap! The room was comfortable enough but lacked any wardrobe or hanging space. No option for cooked breakfast, only continental which was basic but ok.
A disappointment to be honest as we don't get away often.
We had left something behind and when my daughter visited to enquire a couple of weeks later found the hostess very unhelpful. 
Overall a disappointment and I won't be back. 

2 night break

There was nothing to disappoint - We were met by the owner, having advised her of our ETA from Blairgowerie an hour before, and were shown into a very comfortable room - where we were told to 'Phone if we needed anything, which we could not foresee. Minutes later, I was on the 'phone, asking how to work the TV ? We were never successful,  but, we really didn't need television.

We had found the Victoria on a Groupon and, the available dates fitted in with our inventory touring the UK in our motor home,  The offer came with a bottle of wine and chocolates - What happened to those chocolates, I ask myself - as everything else was fine, and complied with what we had been given to expect.  All in all, it was clean, comfortable, centrally placed, and ideal for our needs.

TWO NIGHTS IN CRIEFF TO SEE FRIENDS

I really do not know what all the fuss is about, when we booked we knew exactly what we were getting for our bucks. A shared toilet and shower room was stated and continental breakfast unless you chose Diana suite which had a seperate private bathroom and toilet. We booked through Groupon and then once phoning to book we automatically went on site to see what you got for your bucks. In fact the Victoria house BB was on arrival found to be very pleasant and fresh smelling, stair carpets had just been cleaned. We stayed in Edward suite which had on arrival a bottle of chilled ros'e wine and chocs, huge comfortable four poster bed, walk in wardrobe and tea making facilities with plenty of tea, coffee and milk with a big airy window. Meeting Maxine on arrival who is the proprietor, we found her to be a warm, friendly and welcoming person and made us feel special. This is a BB with a difference and a choice of bedrooms if you so ask, each done up tastefully, with a hint elegance and a complimentary continental breakfast, served in a bright and cheerful dinning room, you just help yourself to what is available knowing there isn't anyone to assist, as your trusted and under no pressure to eat and run at check out time. So we can say it was a wonderful relaxing expirence, my Wife was so happy with the surprise that was booked. Very good value for money and fully recommend a stay here with an open mind. We definitely are going back. Once you get to meet Maxine she cannot do enough for you to make your stay special, you only have to ask, she is so easy to get on with, with a passion for what she does.

Pleasantly surpried

We stayed at this B&B along with 2 other couples. None of the rooms had and en-suite, we had one bathroom between 6 people. Self service Continental breakfast consisted of granola or cornflakes, wholemeal, white bread or croissants for toasting, butter & jam, tea and coffee.  £70 per night is completely OTT for the facilities and level of service offered. Safe to say we won’t be back or recommending this B & B to friends
