My wife and I stayed here for three nights in Mid-January.

We found the hotel very comfortable with an excellent restaurant.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, a good size with comfortable beds. The rooms have everything you need and nothing you don’t.

The staff throughout were welcoming and smiley.

The food throughout our stay was excellent – so a big shout out to the chef.

The three breakfasts were beautifully presented with a good choice of items, whilst the two dinners we had were super tasty. The restaurant itself has many booths and tables that overlook the sea – they really have made the most of the view – and it’s just a very nice space to spend time in. In the winter they have the log burner lit which makes things toasty.

The hotel is Grade Two listed and the ambiance within is straight out of Edwardian England – you keep expecting Miss Marple to exit the lift as you wait, muttering that there had been a murder in Cromer.

Recommended.

Lovely stay in a very comfortable hotel

Food stunning (Sunday roast) - service very poor. We understand they were short staffed but unacceptable level of attentiveness in such a beautiful hotel without apology. The night porter stepped in to help after his shift and was fantastic. The waiter looking after us definitely needs some  training in customer service and smiling. View to the sea was fantastic. Would usually recommend.

Poor service - fab food

We have stayed at the Cliftonville Hotel before and it is always faultless but I had to write another review and just say 'JODIE'!
What an incredibly kind, informative and delightful young lady. She is an absolute asset to your hotel. She worked reception like a dream. We watched her run from her desk and escort an elderly gentleman down the staircase. She then engaged in a long conversation about the best places to go birdwatching and the birds that were native to certain areas. All the guests that we had observed interacted with her as if they had known her for years. Jodie lights up The Cliftonville and we cannot wait to visit again.

JUST ONE IMPORTANT WORD - 'JODIE'!

Fantastic hotel, from booking to checking out all of the staff were lovely and friendly. I love the grand entrance to the hotel and fantastic staircase! The hotel was maintained very well, especially for an old building. The food was amazing for both breakfast and dinner, which was very reasonably priced. The carpark is small but adequate, and included in the price of your stay. Just a stones throw into Cromer it was perfect to see the fabulous fire works display.

We had a great meal, near the sea. Great Mussels and delicious Pork Belly.
Good Bitter too. Friendly staff and a very pleasant room. Although it was busy , it was surprisingly quiet. A nice surprise indeed.

A NICE SURPRISE

After reading an article about the refurbishment at The Cliftonville in the local newspaper via their Facebook link we booked a one night stay at the end of last year for a Saturday in early March. 
Many years ago I worked regularly in Cromer and always fancied staying at this grand old sea front hotel. We booked directly on the hotel website. The price we paid at that time was only £109 and included a full english breakfast which I understand is not included in the prices you see on Booking.com. This was for a first floor superior double room with great sea views including the pier. As you will see from our photos our room was lovely, spacious and tastefully decorated. The hotel has undergone a lot of decoration and repairs which have been carried out with complete sympathy and respect to the history and fabric of the building. The new owners should be applauded for taking this hotel under their wing and investing their money.
The staff were excellent and really helpful. Breakfast was great too with the best black pudding I have tasted for a long time. We hope to book another stay in the future but that will largely depend on whether the price doesn’t increase too far over our normal budget.

What a gem! Booked for a night away for friend's birthday and loved it. Brilliant room with comfy seats looking out onto the sea, and very clean and a great meal in the restaurant.  All the staff were friendly and helpful.  Will be booking here again!

Loved it!

Stayed here for 5 nights as a couple with a saint Bernard. Amazing staff, all very friendly and helpful, brilliant with the dog. Great location, lovely food, can't wait to stay again and will recommend to all

I really loved this hotel in fact I loved it so much I am returning in March.  Wonderfull staff look out for Leanne at breakfast.   Tom the manager  thanks for putting up with my wine and vodka drinking I loved the bar.  The hotel is beautiful I can’t wait to come back. 

Amazing 

My wife and I visited the hotel for a meal in the restaurant and to check out the building after the refurb.  The interior has been done very well, making the most of the period features that make the building so special .  Our meals were excellent with a good range of menu choices for meat eaters and vegetarians with some unique dishes.   The service was very good which made for a great evening out and I will definitely be recommending to friends and family.
