The owners are really lovely people who are informative and on hand but unobtrusive. The room is smallish but very comfortable and cosy and the dining room has an excellent view. You can also sit outside and just soak up the view and tranquility. The breakfast was plentiful and nicely presented. We are full English breakfast people. The location is superb, handy for the South West coast path, three country pubs, Start Point with its lighthouse and amazing beaches nearby. As well as crystal clear waters with long shingle beach half a mile away there is a hidden gem of a beach just along from the lighthouse. Tilly Cottage is almost equidistant (7 to 10 miles) between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge in the scenic South Hams region of Devon. Both places well worth a visit.

A delightful calm and tranquil setting

Visiting Devon for a Wedding & chose Tilly Cottage & very pleased we did.   Driving up a very narrow lane we arrived at Tilly Cottage & as we were a little early waited in the gorgeous garden.  After 10 mins we were shown the room which was lovely with little added touches of dressing gowns & plenty of towels to make you feel really special. It is beautifully decorated with stunning views.  Breakfast was really good too just enough. All in all very good value & Richard & Angela are the perfect hosts, thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

We have just returned from a one night stay at the beautiful Tilly cottage B&B - we arrived to be greeted by Richard who was in the garden tending to the many different species of plants etc which by the way smell amazing! We were shown to our own entrance on the ground floor which enters into your own private breakfast room with stairs off leading to a lovely bedroom, complete with comfy bed, dressing table, tea, coffee and water and even two lovely waffle robes to use during our stay! Next to the bedroom is a shower room which is tastefully decorated and clean. We were free to come and go as we please after a few tips from Richard on best places locally to explore... we walked from the cottage to the local thatched pub for our evening meal at the tradesman's arms, this is a must if your in the area, 5* food! After our very peaceful nights sleep we'd arranged for breakfast at 9am and after half an hour basking in the sun on the patio we headed in for breakfast, cooked and served by Angela, there was plenty to set us up for the day, the coffee was good too! We will most definitely be returning to Tilly cottage and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely B&B in this area! The location is great as not too far from Dartmouth and Salcombe as well as other fantastic beauty spots and beaches nearby. Thanks Richard and Angela for your hospitality, we will see you soon. Perfect 

I visited Tilly Cottage mid August 2016 to stay local to Blackpool Sands for a Crossfit competition happening there. The owners made me extremely welcome and really looked after me during my stay. I spent one night solo and then a pregnant friend came to join me for the second night as she couldn't cope with camping - the owners equally made her very welcome and provided us both with a plentiful and delicious breakfast. Parking and transport links were straightforward and I really couldn't have asked for anything more for my visit. My pregnant friend was also extremely grateful of the warm shower! Thank you for your lovely hospitality.

Well looked after

Friendly welcome on arrival. Easy to park. Nice size double room, with bottled water & tea & coffee facility's, added extra of some chocolate biscuits & sweets next to the bed ;). Nice private bathroom with shower. Own key given to us so you can come & go as your please. Nice patio area view great views, great location very peaceful. Breakfast was lovely, we both had the full English, plenty to eat, great quality. Nice juice Apple & orange, also great tea & coffee. A real credit to the owners who where very friendly & helpful throughout are stay. Yes we would happily stay here again.
