The lodge we stayed in was very nice lots of room and beds were very comfortable. the entertainment was good in the club all though we thought the price of the food was a bit high and we had  to laugh at the bar staff they didnt know how to make a cocktail drink and snowball drink. other wise every thing else was fine.

Nice family holiday day.

Not our first Christmas at Welcome, but definitely our best.
As ever the Caravan was clean and tidy and welcoming .
We always take our small dog Angus with us, the site is Dog friendly, except for the club.
Which we have never used because of the dog ban.
The Staff are great  other holiday parks could  learn good customer service from the team there 
All in all a  great place and we shall be returning soon.



A welcome Christmas 

Just come back from a weekend  break  at welcome. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and everything you need for a comfortable stay.  Staff on reception are always very welcoming and really pleased to see you. Entertainment as usual  was brilliant thankyou  Mark and all the team you are amazing guys so professional in what you do. Roger Parks you are fantastic. Only problem was weekend went to quick. Lovely base for exploring the surrounding area with plenty to do.  Ample parking right by lodge. Booked already for next year. 

Another awesome stay

Just back from a 5 day stay with 14 in our party all together.. 

Caravan - old, dated and grubby but on the whole OK.. needed a deeper clean, lots of hairs in the showers and a few mold patches on the bedroom walls which wiped off with a flash wipe. Dishes, cutlery and glasses were all very greasy on arrival. 

The Clubhouse - now this is where our stay at the Holiday park took a turn the first evening was OK couldn't hear the entertainment at all then the bingo que formed and nobody seemed to care about getting in the way of the children's entertainment. Second night after a long day off site and it being Halloween a few of us went over for the children's entertainment with a view for the older members to join later.. we had three small bar tables between 7 of us they only allowed for 2 seats at each table so it was fine, my daughter 7yrs old was eating her dinner at the far table whilst two family members left to change the baby and within 5 mins we were being sneared at, a group of females (old enough to know better) proceeded to use the table my young daughter was eating at all the while swearing and being very rude about us all.. they were literally pushing the table and rolling their eyes at my 7 year old daughter whilst she was eating her dinner.. enough was enough so we decided to leave as we left abusive comments were hurled at us by the 3 individuals in front of a crowded bar.. we have visited a lot of sites around the UK and have never been subjected to such an embarrassment. In fairness to security they were appalled and very apologetic but after everything we were never reassured that the same wouldn't happen again if we decided to return on another night. So that's where it ends really after this we didn't use any of the park amenities. 

I have to say that on a whole our  experience at the park is what can only be described as rough as guts.

Rough!

I’ve visited most holiday parks in the southwest so I feel I’m able to give a honest review of the site, on arrival the site was a lot bigger than I expected (accommodation wise), check in went smoothly, found our bungalow no parking directly outside had to use the car park behind it, which meant a bit of a walk with all our stuff, the bungalow itself was large and had everything you needed, but it did have a very strong musty smell. I’m presuming that’s because everything in it is old and possibly needs updating, now on to venue (now this is the worst part) because it was school holidays the main venue itself closed for hour before reopening again so this meant most people would start queueing two hours before the venue reopened and if you didn’t start queueing you possibly wouldn’t even get a table or you would get one at the very back! After spending 2 hours queueing every evening we would eventually get into the venue to have to just queue again at the bar for another half an hour. And because you can’t get soft drinks and food from the main bar, I have to go and join yet another queue to get your food and soft drinks, so more queueing and anywhere between 30-60 for food and soft drinks, we eventually get a chance to sit down and enjoy the show after about 3 hours worth of queueing, onto the food this was very hit and miss sometimes served hot sometimes served cold, I would say the food is overpriced for what you get it is fast food after all but with restaurant prices for some items, we also did get a burnt Margarita pizza which cost £12 for standard size but we didn’t want to queue up again to complain so we just made do, now on to the entertainment which for us made our holiday as it was the best entertainment we have ever seen out of 27 holiday parks we have visited in the southwest, the entertainment team at welcome are all super talented and what makes this holiday park without them this holiday park would not be worth visiting due to the chaotic un-organisation of the rest of the park, on day of check out had to strip  all beds and leave on a pile on the floor ready for cleaners, handed keys back and was not offered any type of discount if I booked a return visit (possibly missing out there as I might of considered it purely based on the entertainment ) got home and never even got a thank you for visiting email please come again and a incentive to rebook again, which we receive with most parks we visit. Anyway over all I would rate this holiday park 6/10. 

Southwest Holiday Park enthusiast

The site itself is lovely, with friendly staff. The evening entertainment is brilliant (kids loved it).  Bad bits - club house is very dated. The drink was awful, never before have I seen a pint of cider served with a layer of what can only be described as slime.  GF person in our party, no options for meals available on site (other than the gammon which was never available).  Dawlish Warren is ok itself, lots of dog sh*t everywhere on walk to the beach so watch where you step.  

Given it 4 based on the entertainment and the general tidiness of the site.

Good and bad points

We arrived on Christmas Eve to be told that all entertainment venues were closed due to a large scale disruption the previous evening.I called the park to attempt to find out what was going on and if things were as bad as what I was hearing why incoming guests hadn’t been notified of the problems so they had the opportunity to make alternative arrangements.The chap I spoke to sounded very downhearted but really couldn’t give me any support or advice apart from to leave and be refunded.This didn’t seem possible due to having family that had travelled a long way by train and unable to return and not having preparations for Christmas for the children at home so we stayed with hope that the situation would resolve itself.We went to get the children a takeaway from the chip shop and during this time my son was intimidated by a large group of older teens.I was reasonable in my response to them asking them to leave him alone.The group of teens then proceeded to follow my family back to our caravan and chose to enter the caravan (I can only assume why)I spoke to the park ans asked if we could have our accommodation moved as some family members were anxious about staying there with our van now known to some members of the group that had been causing disturbances the evening before.I told the park what had happened and they advised me to call the police.During my call to them they picked me out whilst monitoring the cctv so I believe they were able to seperste me from this group of people causing disruption.After a very stressful few days with some minor disagreements between myself and my family over the ongoing situation (2 short disagreements contained to our caravan)we arrived home and were offered a full refund for our stay.believing this matter to now be over and accepting the prompt refund I considered the matter closed until I received a letter only 2 days ago banning me and my family from ever booking again?!I phoned to find out what on earth this letter meant and to see if it had been sent in error but no I received an email yesterday telling me as per the terms ans conditions they could refuse anyone a booking and this was the final decision.During a weekend with a high police presence the park showed no concern over my family at all.Athena police were not asked to speak to us for any reason as we had just been confined to the van most of the time.In my communications with the park even though I’ve been firm with my beliefs on the subject I have shown no evidence of abusive behaviour and neither have my family.After the weekend from hell the park have the audacity to send letters like this to genuine paying guests causing no disturbance whatsoever and then refuse to communicate effectively when I attempt to find out what is going on for them!

Terrible customer service

We returned last week from a last minute family break for New Year’s Eve. First time here and wow I’m so impressed! The caravan was spotless, love the little touches of biscuits and even a mini bottle of wine when we arrived. Lovely heating system felt very warm and cosy. 
We paid the option to have our beds made up for us upon arrival which was well worth it at £12 a bed. 
The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble very friendly and welcoming - a credit to them all. 
It was my sons birthday on New Year’s Day and I asked for a shout out on the stage and they all wished him a happy birthday they were great. 
Shows were awesome, the little arcade and the entertainment for the children. 
The location is fab as well short walk from shops, bars and restaurants, arcade and I noticed a fair ground but was closed until the Feb half term but didn’t matter to us. 
Paignton zoo is only half an hour away so we took ourselves there for New Year’s Day. 
Honestly we had the best family holiday and we certainly will be returning and recommending to friends and family!

If I could rate 10 star I would - Can’t fault this place!

We had a fabulous trine at Welcome - loved it from beginning to end. When we arrived we felt like we were abroad the reception all lit up with palm trees, all the staff we came into contact with including reception ladies, bar staff and entertainment team were super friendly and helpful. Our bungalow was perfect, very spacious and everything we needed for our holiday. Entertainment in the evening was brilliant, Mark and his team did an amazing job and my two teenage boys will always remembered their first proper New Years Eve party. The surrounding area is lovely short walk to Dawlish Warren and 5 minute drive into Dawlish itself. Lots of little shops and pubs within walking distance. 10/10 thank you Welcome, we will definitely be back x

Great park for family holiday ❤️

In the past I spent my New Year’s Eve in Butlins, however following last years disappointing visit for NYE I’ve decided to try something different. So this one in Welcome was on offer who are not normally open at this time of year but this year marked the first time it did. I have to say it’s great accommodation and comfy living quarters. The entertainment was great although was a little too busy so had trouble finding somewhere to sit, The surrounding area is lovely and an excellent base to explore other parts of Devon. I’ve stayed on this site in the past and it’s always been top notch. I was happy to find out that they are open again for the festive period in 2023 and will consider doing it again in the near future. 8/10.
