Beautiful room, excellent service, friendly atmosphere. We stayed over after a party. Food was awesome, particularly for a busy evening. Hot tasty, beautifully presented.
Breakfast was brilliant as well 

Relaxing stay

We had a short stay at the Kedleston Country House on a visit to family in Derbyshire on the 21st / 22nd Nov. We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were lovely, clean and very comfortable and the breakfast great. A special thanks to Lee and Sally who were very friendly and helpful and made our stay worthwhile. We would definitely recommend the place to all.

Wonderful and worth another visit…

What a fabulous B & B.  We had the most fantastic evening meal, the best steak we have ever had.  Great nights sleep & then what a fabulous full English.  Would highly recommend.  Great service & lovely friendly staff.  J & J

Overnight stay & Dinner 

Stayed for one night as we'd been to their Pimm's and Rims car event with our classic car. Very friendly staff and a hands on owner. Our room was the smallest they have but very comfortable and well equipped despite an exuberant shower! We had a very good evening meal and one of the best breakfasts we've ever had.

Great stay

My husband and I had a really lovely time  here to celebrate his birthday. What was especially - and unexpectedly - appreciated was a specially typed out menu just for me, as my husband had notified them of some of my food intolerences. I have never come across this before at any other restaurant. Top marks!

All the food was delicious, and as the triple cooked chips were exceptionally tasty, my husband reqested an extra portion - and I was able to have a few!  Honestly, a visit here is worth it just for the chips!  

Our waitress, Hannah, was exceptionally friendly and helpful and had a lovely personality.

I can't praise this restaurant highly enough - and we will certainly return.

Highly recommended

Visited here with my husband as a birthday treat. Beautiful old building and lovely spotlessly clean rooms. Love the slippers and Robes in the room's. The staff were all really helpful and friendly could not fault any of them. Unfortunately my meal at the night time let the visit down a little bit. I had the belly pork, the fat on it was soft and slimy not crispy how it should be. I complained to the waitress who took my plate away returning a few minutes later with my meal minus the pork fat. 5 minutes later the pork fat came back in a bowl supposedly have being crisped up it wasn't good.  However the breakfast the next morning was a different story lovely and tasty and plentiful. We did have a lovely overnight stay and the place is beautiful so for that fact we would return and hopefully the evening meal would be better.

Birthday treat

Stayed  Saturday night booked on Saturday as they had cancellation wow we had a wonderful experience staff welcoming, food amazing, room out of this world, thank you all hope to return sometime in the future especially for the best breakfast we have ever tasted. 

Great experience 

This is a gem of a place to stay in a very lovely location near Derby.    We were there for a wedding about 15 minutes away and stayed two nights.    It bills itself as a B&B but actually is a beautiful space (a fine country house) with several very nicely appointed lounges and public spaces , a very good restaurant and a bar plus 5 excellent bedrooms with lovely bathrooms.   All amenities are provided - bathrobes, fluffy towels, great shower (and roll top bath) etc.     The staff (and owners) are all lovely, friendly and helpful.   They put us in a different room to the one I booked and gave us £50 off our restaurant bill to apologise.     You can walk from the hotel cross country to the lovely village of Quarndon and the National Trust property Kedleston Hall is just down the road.   Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and we really couldn’t fault anything - and it is extremely good value to boot.    There are lots of activities and events going on (murder mystery dinners, Xmas kid’s events etc) which seem very popular.   Good fro them and I wish them success as they have really pulled out all the stops to make this a special place.

An absolute gem not be missed

We stayed at the kedleston on bonfire night for 2 nights, I was so pleasantly surprised on arrival (I hadn’t done much research)! The place is gorgeous and the welcome was friendly. Our room was perfect with a very comfortable bed and a great power shower. We had a wonderful time at the firework display and enjoyed sampling some very tasty food from the vans. Our breakfast was delicious both mornings and we can’t wait to go back and try the restaurant for dinner. Thanks so much!

Absolute gem!

Excellent overnight stay at this friendly Country House Hotel whilst visiting family. Comfortable room, larger than average ensuite with bathrobes, slippers & a generous selection of toiletries. The fridge containing bottled water & a good choice of refreshments were provided.  Breakfast was fresh, well cooked & generous. We especially liked The Snug an intimate cosy lounge with wood burner, all other spacious areas of the hotel were decorated in keeping with the period.  The staff were extremely helpful & made our short stay memorable. We will return & have dinner included with our stay in the near future.
