We visited this lovely B and B as one of our party wished to visit Dersingham as he had been an evacuee there during the 2nd World War. We phoned the delightful ladies, Annette and Gill, when we were almost there who guided us, met us in the car-park and carried our luggage up to the landing by our rooms. A few moments later we ventured downstairs into a lovely sitting room and enjoyed hot drinks and a delicious home made lemon drizzle cake. One of us had a special gluten free cake. The ladies were very helpful in trying to locate the house which our evacuee stayed in during the war. 
I was in room 5 which had a nice view of the garden, very comfortable twin beds, a tv, a tray of drink making facilities and a bathroom with an ensuite toilet, bath and triton shower. The towels were very luxurious.
For breakfast there was juice, cafeteria coffee and tea, cereals or porridge, a full English with sausages from a local butcher, or salmon and scrambled eggs and toast made from homemade bread with homemade marmalade and jam. 
Everywhere was decorated with beautiful pictures on the walls and on the bedroom doors. Everything was thought of to bring comfort and enjoyment to anyone lucky enough to spend a few days in this hospitable environment.

Excellent stay

Stayed here for five days last week. 
Had a welcoming cup of tea with cake after a long journey, and the ladies told us a little about the area.
Covid regulations were explained, and adhered too.
We had Room 1 a twin room with an en-suite shower, the room was spotless with tea making tray and kettle, and milk was provided in individual small bottles in the landing fridge, there is also a larger fridge in the dining room for guests use.
Ample car park and a beautiful garden area with outdoor garden furniture for the residents use, the garden itself is a typical country garden, with an abundance of aromatic flowers.
The guest house is near to Sandringham, Hunstanton, and Walsingham, its ideal for walkers, bird watches, or just resting.
Breakfast is cooked to order from an extensive mainly locally sourced produce.
Annette and Gill are wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We will be returning without a doubt, and we highly recommend this fantastic 'little gem'.

'Little Gem'

We stayed for a weekend with these delightful sisters.  Nothing was too much trouble.  The breakfasts were excellent with home made bread, jams and marmalade and locally sources ingredients.  Rooms clean and comfortable, beds and bedding lovely and lots of little extras to make our stay a pleasure.
We shall definitely return if we come back to Dersingham.

Smashing!

Love this place and the people just feels like home.  Food lovely, ultra clean and comfortable, very friendly and lovely garden. I cannot wait to return as we didn't want to leave.  So many things nearby to see and do.

Lovely place

A lovely place to stay, very welcoming and we felt nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 3 which was immaculately clean and had a very comfortable bed. We were travelling with our 3 year old who loved the camp bed she had, plenty of space in the room for what we needed and also an en suite.  We didn’t get there ourselves but there is a park over the road which is ideal for all ages, toddler play area and skate park for older kids.  Sandringham and Norfolk lavender also have things for kids if you want a change from the beach.  
Breakfast was easily one of the best we’d had. Anything you could think of! We liked how everything is locally sourced, also that our hosts used glass bottled water and milk, not plastic.  We will definitely look to stay again if in the area.

Weekend away

We booked this guest house in order to visit Sandringham which is just a few miles up the road. We were met in the car park by our hosts , Annette and Gil, and offered a very welcome cup of tea and homemade cake.  Our room (2) was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was undoubtedly the best we have had in any hotel both in terms of the quality of ingredients and the amount on offer. The local knowledge of the sisters was invaluable in accessing local tourist spots. I would thoroughly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting this beautiful part of the world.

A real home from home.

A joy to stay here. This was our second visit, the first was a few years ago - and nothing had changed. The sisters were their usual welcoming selves, the room was spotless and comfortable and the food at breakfast was excellent. Oh, and my wife loved the idea of having a tiny mini-fridge in the hallway with your own bottle of fresh milk in it. And she was really pleased to find "real" tea bags on the room's hospitality tray - PG Tips! Thank you Annette and Gill.

On top of that it's a lovely area to visit with Sandringham House & Gardens, Kings Lynn, and the North Norfolk Coast all within easy driving distance. Don't miss it.

A Joy to Stay Here

The most attentive hosts, Gill & Annette, run an extremely clean and comfortable B&B. A welcome cup of tea and home made cake after a very long journey really hit the spot. The very comfortable bed (Room 3) meant I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in months - it was like sleeping on a cloud. A Wonderful freshly cooked breakfast set me up for the day and the information provided by the hosts on where to visit and where to avoid was invaluable. Nothing was too much trouble. Can’t recommend highly enough.

What a find!

Ashdene is a lovely place to stay, its very comfortable, the decor is to a high standard and the owners are first class hosts, the breakfast menu is good with plenty to choose from and if you require some, just ask, rooms are of a good size with tea and coffee facilities, all rooms are en suite with showers, Annette and Gill will look after you properly, they even bake their own bread and jams. First class.

Great place to stay

We were two bedraggled cyclists the wet day we checked in (a bit earlier than scheduled after a phone call).
Annette & Gill found somewhere to dry our waterproofs and made us feel very welcome.
Clean, comfortable and well appointed room.
Comprehensive breakfast menu, much of it locally sourced and prepared to order.
Facilities to "picnic" in the evening if you don't plan to eat out.
Good location for visits to northwest Norfolk  - Sandringham a stone's throw away.
Highly recommended.
