Excellent location, host and place. Martin went out of his way to help us park our car and trailer in his secure yard. He gave us access to a fridge freezer to store all our food items. Sandown is a very relaxing place, just what we needed after a stressful trip. Doggies are more than welcome. We left early so did not have a chance to sample the breakfast. Only 5 minutes to Dover port. Will definitely stay next time we're in Dover. Thanks for everything Martin.

Excellent Place with Excellent Owner

Amazing stay in one of the best guest houses I’ve ever visited. Martin made us feel so welcome from the word go and as we had free reign of the facilities, it was a home from home. Kelsey was so helpful and on hand, if needed and Martin went above and beyond the call of duty. The room and facilities were lovely and the back garden was amazing, with a lovely view of the castle. Will definitely be back.

Amazing price, even better service.

Recently stayed at Sandown Martin was a wonderful host really friendly and nothing was to much trouble for him or his daughter. Felt welcome the minute we arrived had the run of the house including a fully stocked kitchen and lovely large lounge. Garden was beautiful with outdoor seating. Easy walking into town and a lovely local pub called the Boars head 6 minutes away. Would definitely be going back.

Home from home

I booked this for a friend (Wayne) & his dog (Koda) who are walking the entire UK coastline on a litter-pick, and was so grateful that the owner/host 'Martin' was able to help last minute as there aren't many dog-friendly B&B's in Dover....
Martin went out of his way to make everything good for W&K's stay and was nothing but polite, charming and helpful to me in all of my dealings with him (likewise to W&K) and I'd highly recommend Sandown Guest House to anyone.

Fabulous host!

I only stayed here a few days but the owner is an a-hole and besides getting into people's business never stocked the bathroom with toilet paper, just enough if you were constipated maybe. I was unlucky to find this place and was in a bind so i just booked it but should've kept looking. oh and the wifi is weak

We are English Channel swimmers. In town for 10 days. This guesthouse is perfection. Well situated just off center of town. Our rooms were just right. Full kitchen and self catering. Loads of hot water and comfy chairs. Beautiful back garden. We stayed in the annex and felt right at home. Super easy walking distance to town center, Marina, beach area and train. You will settle in straight away and love Sandown. Priced right as well.

Dover hospitality at its finest 

Lovely little place, cosy and clean, well equipped. Within walking distance of the town. Recieved a really friendly greeting and got some great advice of places to visit in the area. Will definitely book again.

Great stay

Martin was a great host, beds were comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Slept really well.
Good value for money, home from home. Will definitely consider staying again when in the area. Highly recommend to anyone to stay here.

Comfortable and Decent nights sleep

We stayed here for one night before getting the ferry to Calais. We had a brilliant greeting very friendly and helpful very nice modern and spotlessly clean room. Owner couldn't help us enough he was brilliant we had a trailer and even helped with unhitching to park it, parking is limited although there's places around it. Location for the ferry is great took about 5-10 mins and we were in the docks. I would definitely return and would highly recommend it to others.
