The hotel owners and staff are very friendly. The restaurant is totally outstanding with food quality second to none. Truly first class. Looking forward to more visits. The surrounding areas around lochness are stunning 

Booked a two night stay and from the time we arrived it was a really pleasant experience.

Staff were very courteous and friendly. Breakfast buffet was beyond expectations, rooms were adequate and beds were comfy. Loved the old school style of the place. For the price you can not beat the service and accommodations. Other hotels in the area were much more expensive. Loved the old school vibe and the receptionist was very friendly. The owner runs the bar and is probably older than the hotel, but he adds to the quirkiness of the place. For 130 pounds, you can't ask for much more.

Cozy and great value

This one is a no from me. Only thing keeping this from a 1* is the food. 

Pro’s:
The food!
- We ate in the restaurant the night of our stay and was the best meal we had all holiday. Stunning food! However, £4.50 for a small bottle or sparkling water is not acceptable FYI! They do not offer “table water”. 
- The breakfast was also the best overall we had. Buffet option, food was good and hot, the chef continually bringing more to replenish. Options of cooked or continental, all good. 

Cons:
Everything else!
- It is dirty. The room was disgusting and had not been cleaned properly. Dust everywhere, previous guests rubbish and used cups still lying around. The bathroom was a disgrace. We booked because it had a tub but didn’t dare use the tub for all the grime in it. Not good at all! 
- Tired property. It is beautiful in the way that it is highly devoted to its Scottish roots, but it’s clear there is no money to renovate, which is a shame. 
- Location I didn’t think was great. Thought it was far out for Lochness activities, personally. 
- Connected to Museum next door where the staff’s language was as colourful as the walls! Would be furious if I had children and they were speaking like that! 
- Staff in general I didn’t find hospitable. 

I would not return. Was VERY expensive - £130 for a night. Not good at all.

Not for me this one!

This hotel gave us exactly what we needed -- a place to sleep for the night on our way down the Great Glen Way. The staff was friendly and helpful but other than that the room was very small and uncomfortable, with bulky, standard (sterile) hotel furniture, the shower could not keep a consistent temperature, and the outdated hairdryers kept overheating and stopped working. WiFi did not stretch to the rooms. There is so much potential for this gorgeous building but there are surely much nicer places to stay in Drumnadrochit given its current condition.

Proximity to Great Glen Way and very friendly staff make up for very outdated, uncomfortable accomodations

Plenty of car parking, good location. Receptionist was friendly. Room (and hotel) dated, room itself was clean but bathroom wasn't. Food was nice, but expensive, as were drinks. OK for a night, but needs investment and updating

Good location, OK for a night

Wow this place is a dump. Walked into reception on arrival and waited in excess of 15mins before after many rings of the bell an elderly lady appeared and said she would get someone. The smell was horrible, old dusty and musty. A young lad finally appeared and explained he was new so would need to find a key to open reception to book us in. Finally sorted we were shown to the room and the horror continued. Carpet was pitted and clearly hadn’t been cleaned for many years, mouldy net at the window, and comically enough a sign saying each room is inventoried daily to make sure nothing is stolen. I can safely say there is nothing in the room that anyone would want to take with them as it’s all rotten. Hand towels in bathroom with holes in, had to run the shower for a considerable amount of time to get warm water and the avocado Green bath was filthy. plastic cups for tea and coffee but only 1 sachet of each. Nowhere to plug the kettle in as there is only 2 sockets and both used by the tv and freeview box. Could have unplugged them but due to cable length j would have had to hold the kettle as it boiled as the counter was too high to reach. Tried to get a drink in the bar one night and both staff members blatantly ignored us so we walked out ( very quiet so they can’t say they were busy because they weren’t). Breakfast was ok and choice was what you would expect but nothing special. I will not be returning here and anyone reading this will hopefully book somewhere else if they want a good nights rest.

Nothing positive to say

Started as soon as we arrived. The owner (I think) sent a young new lad out to deal with us at check-in. He had to hunt for manager to get keys. Meanwhile, owner opened up reception and apologised for delay, offering us a free dinner for the evening. Thankfully, we already had dinner booked elsewhere, so didn't have to accept her apology/comp for the wait she caused.
Room was dire. It would take more than a lick of paint and clean to spruce it up, but trying those things would be appreciated. Took about 5 minutes to get hot water, although I think we were lucky to GET hot water, and the pressure from the shower felt as if we were being bathed in the tears of the mis-shapen Nessie model that stood between our hotel and the nearby/connected Nessieland (also . . . avoid Nessieland).
At one point, we considered getting a drink in the bar. One couple were being told they would have to wait about 10-15 minutes to sit for a meal, there were 2-3 other tables being served so I have no idea why the wait would be so long, and one waitress came and stood behind us for a moment, saying nothing and just looking blankly at the back of our heads as if we'd just wandered on to the set of The 'Burbs.
It has the central location, but nothing else going for it. Horrendous, but we managed to laugh about it for the 2 nights we were there.

So bad it was almost a farce.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
Does that raise suspicions and make you think you should book elsewhere - I hope so.
Dirty and run down, in fact dangerous in some areas. The staff on the whole were not very pleasant, with the odd exception.
Overall decor is from the 70s, at best. It is tacky, and worn being description. 
Our room... The floor was dirty. There was cobwebs everywhere. The curtains were hanging off the rail. There were dead insects in the undersink cupboard. There was a layer of dust in the bedroom drawers. The bed had a screw head sticking up. In the bathroom the heated towel rail electrical fitting was barely hanging on with black tape. But worst of all, there was a 13cm 'slug' crawling around the edge of the bath watching me have a poo.
Someone said the food in the restaurant was good. I ordered fish it had a long hair in it. I didn't complain though, because less than 30 mins earlier when I asked the guy behind the bar for a menu he told me he was very busy and couldn't get me one, and yet they were right in front of him  So complaining about a hair would not have motivated him any more than me wanting to actually purchase a mesl would have done.
We were a large party those two nights we were there. Everyone in the group had problems. Not least my neice, who was promised a room with 4 beds but was given only 3.
My son had a similar problem with his towel rail, except his was actually hanging off where the black tape had parted and you could see the electric connections. On top of that his wife got an electrical shock from one of the room sockets.
There was a pungent musty smell, everywhere, in some areas worse than others.
The garden areas were overgrown.
Breakfast was very good (= no hair).
Please do not waste your money on this absolute dive of a hotel. 


The Hotel is an Absolute Dive - Avoid at all Costs

Driving in it was obvious that the place was terribly in need of maintenance as the garden was terribly overgrown and paintwork in dreadful condition . 
Entering reception we were greeted with an awful smell of damp that almost caused us to turn around. On checking in we asked about booking dinner but they had a private group . We asked about other suggestions but we’re told to go into town.
The room was adequate but the bed was terrible .
Breakfast was reasonable .

A very tired hotel

Potentially the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment you entered the building the pungent smell of mould/dampness hit you. It was in all public areas and the stench in the room was unbearable. My husband contemplated moving to the car at 3am to try to sleep as the smell invaded his sinuses.
The restaurant food was excellent despite the rude service every diner received from the manager/owner. He should not be front of house.
To have paid 140 GBP ($279) for this is a joke.
