We had a great experience staying here with a very kind and helpful staff member. Beautiful location on the hills close to Loch ness, and cozy rooms with great view. Also good equipped kitchen for cooking. Would definitely recommend staying here for anybody going to Loch ness!

Cozy and welcoming lodge

We had an amazing time at Clunebeg. My wife, in-laws, and I had booked the family room which was extremely quaint, spacious and lovely. Gillian made us feel so comfortable. The room was beautiful and had quite a view. The kitchen and the lounge were really nice especially because the communal space allowed us to meet other people and have a chat even as everyone was making their own dinner. It is well-stocked with everything that one needs to make a decent meal for themselves. 
The location - a 5 min drive from the coop in Drumnadrochit. But the drive up to it is very pretty and it is the start of the Great Glen way so there are some lovely hikes if you are up for them. 
The old-world charm of the place, the serene surroundings, the warmth of the host  really made our trip.

Loved it!

First of all, I am not a robot! After reading former reviews, I felt very important to let you know! I am a real person who had the best lodge experience ever here and I feel blessed to know this place! My family members enjoyed a lot, too!
I saved time and money with booking 3 nights here! You can go to Isle of Skye in 2 hours, Loch Ness and Inverness is no minutes, Glencoe and Glenfinnan in less than 2 hours…and so on.
If you want to ‘taste’ the nature of Scotland instead of being in a standard boring hotel room, this is pretty much your place because this is county-side! However, if you are a critical person and too fussy and political, please do not come here and do not waste time and effort of these lovely people who have their heart in this business! It is incorrect to pay for a 3-star and force more out afterwards! The description is clear and fair!
You guys in this lodge are amazing! The way you solve problems, satisfy the guest is an absolute five star! Hopefully after reading our review, the lodge will be attractive to the real adventure and nature friendly tourists instead of the problematic ones. See you again!

Lovely time in this lodge in the county-side!

It was a last minute booking and I made sure I knew what I was picking. In this budget, it was a very good place. I had a hot shower which acted as a massage. My husband n me slept well. It's a great country side lodge. Very budget friendly and the host made us feel very comfortable. She was friendly and made sure to give us a proper tour.

Comfortable in a tight budget

Very basic accommodation. Very out of the way. Self catering,which is fine, but I would NOT like to prepare food in the kitchen. The kitchen was in very poor condition and overdue for an update. The place felt more like a hostel as there were lots of other people using the house. Very squeaky beds. Wifi very slow.

Basic accommodation

Me and partner had the best time in No 7 hut at the top of the hill, we came across this place quite by accident, or was it, I don’t think so.  This place has beautiful energies. the owners (Gillian and her Son and Step Son are wonderful, friendly and have extensive knowledge of the area).  The hut itself was small, (double bed, bunk beds and single bed) however, it seemed spacious for our needs, the bed was comfortable, albeit rustic, just exactly what we were looking for.  the place was spotlessly clean.  Oh and the help Mo and Emilio were lovely friendly men, who really were so helpful and even put a wee bowl of water out for our dog without even asking….great conversations if you so wished otherwise they left you to it.  I could not fault this place……the stars at night were beautiful….the peace and tranquility was perfect.  Ok so it’s not a hotel but we weren’t looking for a hotel…..if you’re looking to get back to nature….this is the place, a wee bit of heaven…if we’re ever up this way again, we will hopefully go again.  thanks you guys for a lovely couple of day 💯🤩💗🙏, Lesley-Anne from Glasgow x

Great experience when staying at Clunebeg Gillian was most understanding when our situation changed and nothing was to much trouble  would recommend Clunebeg Lodge if in the area ,It’s a definite stop over for us in the future runs

Stopover at start of NC500

-How rundown and unkempt the builing was. Rusty old chairs at the side and a dogs bowl full of cigarette butts. The walls very thin felt like we were in the rooms with other guests. Our Four Poster bed was clean and looked lovely till we tried sleeping in it. Felt every large hard spring so ended up leaving in the night. Tea splashes up the wall and only one bedside lamp. The sofa in the lounge was filthy and none of the tables set as seen on their website. The fridge was switched off and no drawer covers on the drawers. Someone left the patio doors open all night, so no security which was concerning. The young foreign guy greeted us nonchalantly chewing gum and was sat outside drinking alcohol with other people. Certainly wasn't the warm greeting promised online. However, after complaining I was given a partial refund, after much argument from the owner! So had to involve booking.com to resolve the issues. This place needs a lot of work but lack of basic touches needed, which would cost nothing, are not an excuse for losing money during the pandemic (the excuse the owner gave). Definitely needs some TLC and as guests we didn't feel looked after at all. No breakfast with this place either. So not a B&B. Won't be returning unfortunately. The road leading up to it is extremely damaged and full of pot holes,  so be careful with your cars. After a long drive from the lsle of Lewis, this place didn't provide the comfort we needed for the last leg of our journey which was another 10 hours!

The location is lovely if the diggers and old scrap cars weren't on the estate and we saw a couple of beautiful Deer. 

Disappointing 

Clunebeg lodge is a run down estate that I'm sure in the right hands could be turned into a beautiful place to stay. The cabins look like sheds with unsecured doors and windows as shown in pics below. Shower door came off runner when trying to close. Owner said to just leave shower door open, we could have more towels to put down if needed. Toilet seat was a danger to all unless you like to end up on the floor. Dirt and dust under the beds also double divan bed with spaces where the drawers should have been. Our cabin had no storage for clothing so lived out of bags for three days. Shared kitchen in main lodge was an absolute disgrace, no cupboard doors or drawer fronts and filthy. No restaurant so not a BnB as advertised on booking.com. All photos on booking.com are just to get you to stay. All monies paid are also non refundable. An expensive, horrible place to stay. Not disabled friendly as incomplete paths to cabins and road up to place is a gravel path with large pot holes. Only nice thing was scenery but no estate cattle or any other animals to been seen so another lie. Avoid if you want a relaxing break.

Avoid at all costs

Not disabled friendly at all there are no paths to cabins. Shower door was broken had to lift the whole door to get it to close toilet seat broken. Road was a gravel pit. Kitchen facilities in shared kitchen were broken,dirty and not fit for use. Restaurant has been closed for years!! Staff full of excuses. Cabin was dirty the laminate floor was all broken and raised. Tv had no signal. Beds pushed right up to plug sockets. Cabins look like 2 sheds nailed together but the views are stunning!! Run for the hills!!
