Went for a festive meal food not good service worse extras came when main meal almost finished will not be going again family were very disappointed with the food and service and expensive for what it was have been before but has gone downhill

Family Christmas meal

We spent out anniversary weekend here and I wish we'd not bothered. The room we was originally given smelled so damp that  the minute I opened the door the smell hit me. Big mouldy stain in corner by the bed and room was freezing and neither radiator was on. Hole in the bathroom ceiling covered with peeling gaffa tape. Peeling paint on doors. 
We asked to be moved which they did do for us but even the 2nd room wasn't great. Smelt musty in the bathroom, but no visable signs of mould or damp patches on walls so decided to stick it out.
While I understand that there is a renovation due its still unacceptable in my opinion to think it's OK to put paying customers in such a poor room to begin with. We also wasn't made aware it was due any renovation or the poor condition of the rooms when we booked. 

Not pleasant.

The room was clean and had all that we needed for an overnight stay, but the decor was a bit "tired", with paper peeling off in places and could do with a lick of paint to spruce it up a bit. 
It is a very old building and the pub part was fine but all the hotel areas, corridors etc could do with a bit of TLC.

Ensuite was very small, but again, I appreciate that there are limitations with a building of that age.
But the price was reasonable, so I wouldn't rule out staying again, if we were in the area.

Bed was a little hard for our taste, and room needs a bit of a touch up here and there, but nothing major was wrong for the amount we paid.

All of the staff members we met were lovely and friendly.

Cannot comment on the food or breakfast as we didn't actually eat in the restaurant.

Reasonably priced pub and hotel

Here to celebrate a family birthday and as always the service and food was excellent.

Sarah and Connie were fantastic, very attentive and made sure we had enough to drink!

Thead behind the bar was as friendly as ever, perfect place for a nice afternoon

Our multiple bookings for rooms have been cancelled with weeks to go before our Function. Left to sort our own cancellation arrangements with Booking.com. VERY poor excuse for a hotel. Terrible customer service, save yourself the stress and book elsewhere!

We had a wonderful stay at the Himley House Hotel. 

We were there for 4 nights. Management and staff could not have done more for us.

Service was impeccable, loved the personality and character of the hotel, but best of all was the quality of the food.

We have tried and been disappointed by many of the other hotel groups before, but we both agreed that the Himley House Hotel being part of the Chef & Brewer is the quality and standard that we have been looking for and will look out for other hotel in the Chef & Brewer group.

The meals that we had at the hotel were exceptional in both quality and demonstrated the skill of the chef.

The quality of the food is so important.

We look forward to returning to you.

Exceptional stay, superb food and service. A perfect stay.

Stated a year ago and again this year on a trip south. Since changing hands there’s definite signs of improvement but it’s far 
From finished. 
Had the family room which was much as last time, clean and comfy. Food was excellent again and all the staff were friendly and helpful, so glad to see the staff have not changed. Good to see money is being spent and improvements are being made. Back again next week in a different room hoping that’s where big improvements have happened since last year 🤞

Getting better

Ordered from the specials menu. Brilliant and friendly service from  Tarnya. 
Why don't you advertise your specials on the websites? You might get extra guests if there is something tempting (eg. Halibut)

Good food and service

2stars for the food, which was great. Bar area and restaurant were superb. However. Check in was from 14:00hrs. We arrived early and had a drink and a late lunch which was nice. Checked in at 14:30 and another group checked in the same time. Went to room and the room was not made up. Set of keys on the table and bin was full of beer cans. Returned to the check in where the other group were in the same situation. Not sure what happened, but we weren't prepared to sit in the bar and spend more money whilst we waited. Room became available at 15:00hrs. Now. If you compare what their advertisement says, compared to what the room actually was are miles  apart. The bedside lights held into the wall with one screw. Bathroom light not working. Ceiling paper peeling. What looks like water damage to parts of the ceiling. The picture we took of the room was in the morning when we had natural light. Compare the two pictures to see what we are talking about. Not a happy customer. No night staff except phone number in emergency. Next time we won't stay over. May give the restaurant another go though.

Disappointed.

Stayed overnight on my way to a business event. Didn't have dinner as arrived late but the room was fine and breakfast the next morning was brilliant. Staff fine - in all generally ok. 
A bit rustic but the hotel is about to benefit from a multi million pound refurbishment. It will be some place then. I'd go back if i was in the area. Bit more fun than a premier inn.
