Cosy rooms, idyllic surrounding, lovely hosts, great hospitality and good traditionel english (scottish) breakfast. The B&B is close to the Dundee center with 3 mils to the center. 

All in all an excellent experience. 

The hosts have the sweets dogs!

Stuart and Morag are without doubt the best hosts in Dundee.  For visitors with dogs, as we were, there are wonderful walks close by. Rooms are large and luxurious, breakfast- cooked to order- is delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Dog friendly, hidden away, spotless, extra friendly........

We found this B & B after searching for a pet friendly place to stay, we are so pleased to have found this beautiful family run accommodation.

We received a warm welcome and friendly service throughout our stay. 

The accommodation is of a very high standard, lovely decor and furnishings. We stayed in the Egyptian Room, the room was large and tastefully furnished. A lovely ensuite. The place is spotlessly clean. 

Breakfast was very good, a choice of cereals and fresh fruit. The hot breakfast is made to order (NO  pre prepared food on a hot plate here!). There was a choice of full Scottish breakfast, eggs of your choice, salmon or Arbroath Smokies.

I should add, the dog also loved her stay. She received a welcome pack and there are fields to the rear of the property to explore.

It's good to have a car or transport to the property, cause it's a bit of a walk from the city centre, maybe a 5-10 minute car journey.

Highly recommend a stay here.

A little gem

I booked a solo occupancy last minute in what turned out to be a fantastic guest house. 
As I approached the house via the private drive, I was greeted by three very large friendly German Shepherd dogs, who  mistook my car for the owners. 
Morag, the owner, was lovely and showed me my room - spotlessly clean and full of soft furnishings and toiletries etc.  
Great night’s sleep in a comfortable bed and no light pollution nor noise.  Perfect. 

My next return visit will be soon and I know my wife will love this house.  
I unfortunately didn’t book a breakfast but the guest study and lounge looked fabulous. 

Great value.  Great hospitality and the best welcome ever.  Thoroughly recommended.

Best ever greeting in Dundee

This is the second time my family and I have stayed at Balmuirfield B&B! First for a family wedding and on this occasion for a 90th birthday! Stuart and his family team are incredibly welcoming and made us feel like old friends! We even got to meet he dogs! The house was as wonderful as before, clean and bright whilst also managing to be so homely yet grand all at once! Stuart went the extra mile on our final morning accomodaring some extra guests for breakfast allowing us to enjoy a little extra family time which meant a lot! Will return again and recommend without hesitation!

Absolute gem!

This was a free stay kindly provided as a part of Dog Friendly Angus for which my dog, Moss, is Ambassadog for 2018/2019. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We had a wonderful stay at Balmuirfield B&B receiving a very warm welcome from Stuart and Morag.  Aside from the hallway which is laminate the rest of the house is carpeted and with it coming up to Christmas is beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations.  The room was spotless and spacious with plenty of room and a huge four-poster bed.  There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits and eco-friendly products are used in the bathrooms. For Moss there was a mat for her food/water bowl, a blanket, a towel for drying off muddy paws and some poop bags.  There was a basket of information about things to do in the local area including a number of leaflets on walks - there are some walks that can be done straight from the B&B itself which the owners will be more than happy to direct you to but it also isn't far to the Sidlaw Hills for something to give the legs a bit more of a stretch (we headed to nearby Newtyle for a way-marked walk up Kinpurney Hill).  There was an excellent choice of options for breakfast, I went for the traditional cooked breakfast which was done fresh and there was juice, cereals, yogurt and fruit provided as well.  

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a beautiful, quiet property at the very edge of Dundee.
