I am absolutely blown away by this accommodation and owner. After travelling  the whole country north to south every weekend I have never had such value for money . This place is modern immaculate and very classy . The owner goes above and beyond to accommodate. The accessory beds bedding are quality . It’s warm and accommodates all types of people from families friends business pleasure . I feel it’s far to cheap for the quality of service fixtures and fittings . It’ is also  in town centre so you can access all local amenities. I think personally it’s a steal thank you for a perfect stay Kay and Ant motorcross

Nice stay

We stayed here for one night for a wedding close by.

The owners were very responsive when we messaged them and were very friendly and accomodating of our needs.

The accommodation was everything you would expect for the cost - clean, spacious and quiet. It is dated but that is just the character of the building. We didn't use the shared kitchen but it was a nice touch that we could help ourselves to coffee and tea if wanted.

Great little place

This was perfect for our needs rooms were big, great position, all facilities u need plenty of hot water. Wifi is great really had nothing to complain about Mrs Brown and Ged were accommodating and helpful. Thank you for a great stay. The town of Duns is a great little country town full of character some good pubs and a really nice Thai restaurant. Very friendly locals. 

Holiday

We stayed overnight after a wedding at nearby Wedderburn Barns. The location was very handy for the venue, which was only a short drive away. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. Good to have access to a kitchen with table in the morning to suit ourselves. Plus - the owners let us check in early. This place suited our requirements perfectly. Thank you!

Just what we needed

As a guest house you cannot fault it for its cleanliness , amenities, and the size of the room that had could have slept a family of five. We were treated with great courtesy , although entirely by mobile phone- and were taken step by step through the process of opening the door to the guest house , to fnding the room, etc. I personally would have preferred human contact as it made the experience a bit impersonal, and if I were travelling alone it would have been a lonely experience. We were told that "check in" wasn't until 4PM. - and it wouldn't have mattered that much, but Duns, during the busiest tourist time of the year ( the weekend of the 17 July - a Saturday! ) seemed to practically shut down after 2PM, proving it to be close to a ghost town. As we had arrived much earlier, it was a bit of a wait in a town that was literally closing for the day.. Dogs are allowed for a fee of £10.00, shared kitchen and bathrooms.. The heating had been turned off when we arrived and it began to feel a bit chilly by evening, so if you are prone to feeling the cold, mention it to the owner..There are extra quilts.. The lady on the mobile phone was helpful, caring and kind- said she was available to speak to if you needed her, the building is well maintained, so over-all The Bank house is good value, probably ideal for families, and great to know you can bring the dog.

Clean, Spacious, Good Value

Unbelievable. 
Would not respond to messages when tried to check in. Would occasionally answer the phone but could barely understand her, event though she was from the Borders, and kept saying different things “I’ll call you back” “I have been in an accident” “my son has been in an accident” when all she has to do was give the door code and room numbers that we were in. Took two hours of waiting outside and almost gave up as she wouldn’t even respond to booking.com. 
It then gets better. The next day she started hounding me by text and phone wanting to be paid again, denying that I gave paid (which I had and evidenced). When we arrived back at our accommodation she had another guest demand our keys back and that she would call the police if we didn’t hand them over. At this stage I would have been happy to talk with someone sensible so told her to contact the police. Nothing more was heard…

It is not worth the trouble for anyone booking this accommodation - choose something else!

Absolutely terrible never in my life have I ever been treated like this when working away from home 200 pounds per week but wants the money up front and mesg every week looking for money refused to put clean bedding on bed her words you only get clean bedding if your a good tenant not one carpet within that place has ever been hoovered disgusting attitude cctv with audio watching everything your doing its disgusting there only interested in money but only want cash dosent want it going threw bank and the mesg I have from her asking me to chap the other doors to see if there is anybody in and telling me to bring my own bedding down they will be getting reported to the hmrc for tax evasion aswell its a guest house or guest room to be honest stay away from this place at all cost the place disgusting the lady states that your room gets serviced that only means they collect the money and go they service nothing

Working

Don't bother to book it's a rip off rooms are from the 1960 and it's smells... room was OK but needs updating badly  cost a small fortune no nice linens and bathroom and kitchen down flights of stairs pretty naff to sayou the least
