Welcoming and helpful front desk. Clean and comfortable room. Amazing and unexpected view of Edinburgh Castle from my room. Great location with easy access to transport and walking destinations.

Literally in the centre of town and super easy to check in and out. Staff are lovely and very helpful I loved my stay and you will not get prices so central at any other hotel

Fantastic location next to Starbucks on Princes Street. 10 minutes walk from the railway station.

I was very impressed with the Premier Plus room. Clean, smart, quite recently decorated. Very good shower, nice bathroom.
The sound proofing was seriously effective. I didn’t hear anything from the hotel or from Princes Street which was right outside my window (1st floor room).
The room was too hot when I arrived but I followed the instructions for the air conditioning which was very effective. It turns itself off after a while, so you need to stay on top of that.
I have two suggestions for the Premier Plus rooms to make them better fit the description and to be worth the £223 per night: (bigger?), fluffier towels and individual soaps (the dispensers are not hygienic as I doubt they are disinfected between guests???).
Anyway I had a great nights sleep - thank you very much!

Excellent Premier Plus Room

As above, you can’t go wrong with a PI hotel. We spent the previous night at the Hilton in Bristol with awful beds, no sleep at all. We were sadly so excited to get to our PI the next night just for the comfortable beds! Both nights we slept like a hypoglycaemic neonate lol

Great hotel

A weird review to write - some good but some important areas - some not so good. 

The young women at the front desk were as nice as they can be and the check-in/out process efficient. My room was average and sort of plain and sparse in appearance - but the tv and internet worked well.  While the pillows were hard, the bed was comfy and clean. In both of the rooms assigned to my sister and I, the bathtub/showers sit so high from the floor, that you are taking your life in your hands getting in/out of the shower - which is also quite slippery and no rubber mat in either room.  In reading other reviews, this has been commented on before; the reply has been that the guest can ask for one…you’d think that in the interest of guest safety one would be provided.  I liked that the hotel was within walking distance of Waverly Train Station. I would rate the food at the attached restaurant as standard fare - nothing special. 

I paid for and booked two rooms - one for my sister and one for myself. On 8/28, my sister's husband was diagnosed with cancer; it was serious enough, that he was scheduled for surgery on 9-12. He insisted that she not cancel our trip. She did however, leave a day early on 9/11 to be with him when he had surgery.  I stayed on until 9-12.  She called from the airport very upset and stated that a man at the front desk was abrasive to her re her early departure (it sounded like he thought she was going to stay elsewhere).  She felt he bordered on arrogant and said he did not listen to her.  He somehow thought she was ill and lectured her that if she was sick, that she should see a chemist. When you are leaving to attend to a serious family issue, this is not the proper good-bye.

To top it off, the hotel manager refused to refund me the unused last night of her stay. I understand their refund policy - but under these circumstances, it just felt mean.  All in all, a disappointing experience.  A lot of hotels in Edinburgh - pay a bit more and stay where they consistently care about guest satisfaction.

From start to finish our experience of the hotel and Edinburgh was amazing. Location brilliant being right on Prince's Street looking up at the castle 🏰 👌 
 

Welcoming hotel

We stayed here for two nights mid June. Check in was seamless but they do strictly adhere to the 3 pm check in time. However they will store your luggage. We caught a tram from the airport and got out about 100 meters from the hotel. Situated in the centre of town what more could you want.
We used the attached restaurant for dinner and breakfast and really enjoyed the food and service.
Room was a straight forward Premier Inn room with a great shower and bed. We would definitely come back here.
One tip for Edinburgh - if you go on a Hop on Hop off bus get your ticket after lunch. Its a 24 hour ticket and we used it next day to retrace our steps to the Royal Mile.

No need to look elsewhere

This hotel is on the princess street. You can see Edinburgh castle from some of the rooms. As it is conveniently located you have so many options for dining. Avoid breakfast in this hotel. Same repetitive breakfast each and every day. 

One thing please keep in mind there is no can service on princess street except Black Cab. So you have to walk with your languages for a few minutes. 

This is a decent hotel and you can stay.

Dcent stay option at the heart of the city 

Stayed  here with my husband and 12 year old twins for 4 nights - it was the perfect base for exploring the city. The hotel is 10 minutes from the train station and close to bus and tram stops.  We had a very quiet room and a good nights sleep each night. Breakfast at the hotel was good value for the 4 of us
