We stayed in lodge 46, it was very clean, and spacious. The lounge had a good large TV, although I think the setttees need replacing. The kitchen is also well appointed, including a dish washer (do remember to bring your dish washer tablets). Also the heating is very efficient.

Security to get into the complex is second to none, requiring car access via two gates.

NOTE: There is NO wifi, the advertising needs to be changed (I alway bring our own router when we go away, so this was not an issue for us.

He did have a problem with the hot tub being way to hot (43 degrees), however a neighbour popped over and helped us turn down the temperature down,

BEWARE this is a split level lodge, there are 4 steps between the loung/dinning and the kitchen, so disabled or people infirm on their feet should look else where.

Final, it says you overlook the river and the marine, there is a large bank between the lodge and river, yes you can see the top of the boats, but you aren’t really over looking it.

All in all, I would be happy and recommend others visit, so long as they are aware of the points mentioned above

Very nice lodge, but NO wifi and not really overlooking the river

Me and my husband went on Saturday for a meal, hubby had the pie of the day and I had the Fish Pie, the fish pie was the best I have ever tasted and was definitely homemade the staff were very good and efficient would definitely recommend. 😋😊👍👍👍👍👍

Excellent food!!!!

We booked lodge 53 for 4 nights through Booking.com.  it was advertised as having wifi, towels and toiletries none of which is correct.  No internet was available and we were advised when we received the joining instructions at 6.30pm the night before travel to bring our own towels.  The owner needs to let booking.com know just what is available at the lodge as we certainly would not have booked it with no internet access as I needed to keep in touch with work.  Made my way to the pub and used theirs!  Would not book again.

Not as advertised

What a lovely place to have a long lazy weekend in. Owner was so helpful from start to finish. Lodge itself is gorgeous with added bonus of a hot tub outside and indoor sauna, brilliant. Loads of room, we took two dogs with us who enjoyed great walks along the towpath. Pub/restaurant 5 minute walk. Went to Ely, what a beautiful city loads to see and do. We were very unfortunate with the weather wet and cold the whole 4 days, but we had come prepared with wellies etc but the lodge was warm and cosy. The owner had even put up a Christmas tree which was a lovely gesture. We will definitely return and have recommended to friends and family.

Great stay at No 59

In the past we have enjoyed coming here however this occasion was not one of those times. The Carlsberg tasted watered down and the very limited menu was unappetising. The Sunday roasts looks mass produced and the couple next to us couldn’t recommend theirs, which they left as they were convinced it was kept under a hot lamp!! Not impressed and would look elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

Oh dear ...

We stayed at the no.59 lodge and we were very pleased with the location and was just what we needed for a relaxing break away. 

Although the place could of done with a dust of some cob webs, but could of been due to the time of year we visited. We found a few things weren’t working, but as soon as we advised the lodge staff they were quick to respond and resolve. We are looking forward to booking another break away soon. 

Lovely stay at no.59

Recommended to moor up here and stay on board overnight, eating in the pub. Very friendly staff and very nice food served with great scenery all around. If you find yourselves close, try the Lazy Otter

2 Very Nice Dinners whilst Boating

On the final leg of our boating holiday, we were making good time so decided to have a leisurely lunch at the Lazy Otter! There are mooring spaces for visitors but we decided to moor further up the river in order to stay overnight as well! A short walk across the fens and we arrived. We were cordially welcomed into the establishment and got seated immediately. Drinks arrived and then we ordered a Lazy Otter burger for me, a cod goujon ciabatta for the wife and the kids had their usual of burgers, chips and beans - we are on holiday after all but it will be back to healthy food next week!! Our food arrived swiftly and it was sublime - lovely tasting beef in the burgers, succulent cod in the ciabatta - couldn't ask for more, but the kids did so they had ice creams and then we played in the garden overlooking the river. Be warned, every Friday there is a coach party booked so it will get busy, as well as being adjacent to both a marina and a holiday home site! All said and done, this was the BEST meal we had on our holiday!!!

Lunch by the serene river - beautiful location indeed!

Went Saturday for my wife's birthday meal, being a coeliac sometimes can cause problems 
However the staff are all aware of it, the chef came out to discuss options with Carole.

The meal was excellent and the staff first rate, can thoroughly recommend a visit.

Great Place

Went last weekend after not visiting for some years. The place was packed, lovely atmosphere, we sat outside enjoying the sunshine. We had a mixer of meals which were all very nice, only down side was the wait at the bar. Very busy and only one serving. Will be back again soon
