We spent four nights at Low Hall on our "mini-moon", having been recently married but having to put off our larger, planned wedding ceremony/reception unitl 2021. Our stay at Low Hall certainly made up for the disappointment of having to make these changes and we loved the whole experience. We had a very warm welcome from Liz, our host,  who made every effort to make sure that we were comfortable and safe, giving us guidance on where was open to visit or to eat out. Breakfasts were brilliant and certainly set us up for a day of exploring the nearby lakes; on the other hand we could stay all day by a roaring log fire in the lounge and read if we wished. Our bedroom (on suite) was beautiful and so comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here and will definitely return.

Fabulous location for a special short break

Very comfortable stay in a lovely 15th century B&B with all modern facilities whilst retaining original features. Liz, the owner is very welcoming and the breakfast choice is wide ranging and very well cooked and presented.  You are immediately drawn to the lounge which is very comfortable and is further enhanced by a huge open fire which is so relaxing. The room I stayed was spacious and well heated and had excellent ensuite facilities.It is set in a  quiet village which, coupled with the ambience of the accommodation puts you instantly in holiday mode. There are good walks as well as eating places nearby (had a lovely dinner in the Buther's Arms).  It is a great place for a complete getaway.

Weekend away

Our first visit to Low Hall and wont be our last. Liz was an amazing host and cannot do enough. Breakfast was delicious. The beds were comfortable and the whole place was clean and everything was to a very high standard.  Would recommend Low Hall to anyone.

A LOVELY PLACE

I have already posted a glowing review and recommendation of this Hotel. It is fantastic. Anyone who goes will not be disappointed with any of the facilities, location, and the owner. Loved it and thought it was brilliant and it is also dog friendly 



Fabulous.

On arrival Liz the owner was fully prepared and made us feel safe, secure but welcomed during the COVID situation. We were travelling on Motorcycles and Liz very kindly let us secure them in her garage for the entirety of our stay, which was unexpected but massively appreciated. The property Liz owns is just gorgeous with loads of historical importance and she keeps it immaculate but is not precious at all and welcomes you using the facilities. After being shown to our beautifully prepared room,  we were invited for coffee and scones in front of a freshly lit log fire set in the massive 15th century fireplace. 
Liz even took us to and picked us up from the local pub so we could get a meal which we Hehad to book due to the Covid situation, which again, Liz help sort out.
We came down to a wonderfully prepared socially distanced breakfast dining room the next morning and Liz had made us the most excellent breakfast which we preordered the night before again due to Covid, so Liz could ensure she did Her utmost to adhere to current health and safety rules. This happened again on the second and final morning of our stay also.
The room facilities were almost perfect. Mattress so comfy; pillows perfect; bathroom had huge bath great shower soft spotlessly clean towels as was the rest of the bathroom and the main room itself.
Any requests were met with instant positivity and nothing was too much trouble, Liz was just the Hostess with the mostess, Thank you Liz. I/ we will return one day.
If you’re looking for a place to stay to explore  the lakes, Yorkshire moors or Scottish Borders then Low Hall should be top of your list.

Amazing historical Hotel where you will be truly welcomed.

We were made to feel very safe and welcome by Liz. The house is beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable. The bed was one of the best I have ever slept in, we didn’t want to get up. The large bath was very welcome after a days walking and the exceptional breakfast really set us up for the day. Liz has thought of everything and in these difficult times we felt safe and protected and had no concerns about her Covid precautions. Highly recommended.

A warm, safe welcome in a very comfortable B&B

At a time of some nervousness about travelling,we were extended the warmest of welcomes by Liz. We felt completely safe in her hands as every care was taken to maintain cleanliness. The property is beautiful, a home with a history,but every modern convenience. Small details like flowers on tables,help with planning walks for us, fluffy towels, filling of flasks. Nothing was too much trouble. I would absolutely recommend a stay here ,and hope to return myself sometime.

Outstanding!

This beautiful and historic accomodation did not disappoint.  From the minute we arrived we were made so very welcome. Tea , scones and a burning log fire on arrival was a lovely touch. Every inch of the house oozed charm and character, retaining all of its 15th century architecture, whilst still providing all our modern comforts.  Our ensuite room was absolutely charming ,the bed so comfortable and the bathrobes and slippers were a lovely touch also. The choice of breakfast in the elegant dining room was superb and the cooked option was one of the best I've had. Many thanks to Liz for being such a great host,she really was so kind and helpful. We had such a relaxing second evening in the living room, sat beside the fire. Apologies for using so many logs but it was just so relaxing. We will definitely be back in the future. Peaceful stay at the idyllic Low Hall Country House

Another great stay at this peaceful country house. As usual great welcome on arrival and Liz was a generous host throughout our 3,night stay.  Accommodation and breakfast were to an excellent standard and every possible measure was taken to ensure a safe Covid environment . The accommodation is very dog friendly and the location is set in a small quiet  friendly village yet within easy reach of the M6.

Stunning Country House Accommodation

Great stay at Low Hall. Excellent hospitality, great rooms, delicious breakfast. Hospitable and professional host, particularly in light of Covid protocols, for which everything was very efficiently handled. Help with booking a great pub supper nearby. Altogether, a very comfortable and successful stay.
