Very pleasant stay despite the building work for the new restaurant which wasn't intrusive, just a little dusty everywhere.
Only downside was the useless wifi. It seemed to keep dropping in and out and saying it wasn't secure. Not a major issue for me personally, just a little annoying.

After arriving late in the day with two small children my partner and I expected a comfortable room for the night. We were informed by the lady on reception that our beds had not been made as she hadn't had the opportunity to leave the desk and therefore we would have to make them ourselves. Making up the beds with two very tired small children in the room was very stressful as was finding the duvets the pillows and the extra bed .We were given complimentary breakfast the next morning to compensate but to be honest that ended up being horrific The beefeater -three fish "restaurant" was an absolute disgrace. Chris Dale the manager was one of the rudest managers of any food serving establishment I have ever visited. One of the coffee machines was broken but the one behind the bar was in working order as I witnessed members of staff helping themselves to the coffee and another 2 members of staff on duty serving customers. When I asked for an espresso from the machine the manager told me I couldn't have one because if I had one everyone in the restaurant would want one ! I tried to point out if everyone in the restaurant wanted a different drink from behind the bar he would have to serve that and I couldn't therefore understand why my request for an espresso was any different. After attempting to then eat the flaccid flavourless breakfast the manager approached me in front of my family at the table and said "see this is why I couldn't serve you one espresso we are busy now " this was 20 minutes after I had requested the coffee and when I tried to point out his argument for not serving a customer with a drink was ridiculous he snapped at me "It's not an argument I'm telling you it's not happening" in a very rude and aggressive way which made my entire family children included feel very uncomfortable.Other customers had heard was was happening and they complained about his behaviour too but to no avail.
Eat here at your own peril.

Worst overnight stay I have experienced.

Typical Premier Inn, but I feel standard are starting to slip. One tea and two sachets of coffee only for a couple (no biscuits).

Room wasn't great and spare pillows weren't sealed, like they are meant to be (I think), so don't know if they had been used.

Price was good at £83 for the night

It was a place to stay at a decent price

Lovely hotel and team on the front desk. Handy having the beefeater next door. And oddly I loved cups of tea at the garden centre also next door. Public footpaths nearby for lovely county walks. Handy for parkruns in the area too.

My room that was initially allocated to me was not satisfactory.
Kelly and her colleagues moved me to another room without any fuss . The staff here were the most courteous and willing of any that I have experienced on many visits to other sites I have used .

Stayed here for a night out in Newport rather than paying for taxi home. 
Excellent warm welcome from reception and lovely and clean comfortable room….extra pillows were a bonus and enjoyed a good soak in the bath. Thanks.

We stayed at this hotel in Aug 2023, the lady on front desk Kirsty made us feel welcome, and was there if we needed any thing! Our room was clean, the bathroom was also clean. Nice hotel will definitely be back.

Great service from front receptionist Kirsty. 

Wanted somewhere not too expensive to break a long journey. Perfect location, Beefeater next door, supermarket close by. Super friendly welcome by the receptionist on arrival. The only slight negative is that the hotel is adjacent to a busy main road and the traffic noise goes on all night. Keep the window closed if you want the best night’s sleep.

Great stopover on way to North Wales

Stayed to attend an impromptu ex school mates Xmas drinks.  Unfortunately I spent very little time at the hotel as we had a bit of a wild night in Newport but on checking in I was impressed with the quality of the hotel & room.  I had asked for a quieter room and it was exactly that.  I’m from Newport but moved away & I’m delighted to have found this option of a good value for money stay that’s comfortable, easy to park & only a 20 mins easy walk into Newport.

Perfect for what I needed

Easy to park with plenty of disabled parking available. Level walk to reception desk. Knowledgeable friendly staff, Kirsty was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and clean. Towels, and extra pillows were readily available. The WiFi wasn't great but if you have 4G you would be okay. We will definitely return.
