Nothing is ever too much trouble. One of my favourite places to stay when in the area for business.

Lovely clean and cosy rooms which are separate from the pub itself which is nice. The rooms have everything you need tea & coffee facilities, TV, hairdryer and ironing board. Great en-suite facilities as well, love the night lights in the bathroom as well meaning you don’t have to use the main light all the time.

Great food in the pub as well tapas and larger meals available. Breakfast is fantastic and super tasty.

Shout out to Rowan who looked after us one evening. Absolute credit to the team he couldn’t do enough for us, checking we had everything we needed but not too much that it interfered with our meal.

The staff at The Swan Inn in Esher can not do enough for you. I stay here once or twice a year with work for 3 nights at a time. 

The rooms are mews rooms just behind the pub/restaurant main building (you check in at the bar) so great to have your own exit outside and window for fresh air. The rooms are very modern and have great shower facility. Beds are comfortable and there are coffee (Cafetiere)  and tea making facilities. Ironing board and iron in each room. Some rooms don't have desks, so if you are working/needing a desk space it maybe worth requesting one that does.

Breakfast is served in the pub and has a spanish twist to it and is very nice, all freshly cooked to order.

We always have dinner and drinks here a couple of times as the tapas and food is amazing. Make sure you book though as it is super popular with locals!

Off street parking is just by the restaurant.

One of my favourite regular business hotels in the country

My girlfriend and I  booked this hotel on our way back from Corfe to Folkestone. 

Upon arrival the hotel car park was full but we could park easily and safely in the street  opposite the edifice. 

An attractive and friendly waitress showed us to our room in a building next to the restaurant.

The room was comfortable and well equipped with a fine bed, a large shower and air conditioning. Everything looked brand new. We enjoyed a quiet night. 

English breakfast in the morning was outstanding and served with a smile.

Warmly recommended !



An outstanding stay

A real gem of a restaurant in Claygate. Jose Pizarro excels with his clear love and care for high quality spanish ingredients,  which shine through in his lovingly prepared tapas dishes.

Excellent Spanish influenced food

We had dinner at The Swan last week. The food was absolutely fabulous. It’s the first time I’ve been there since it’s been rebranded as a tapas restaurant.

Four of us shared a wealth of lovely dishes including the best mussels any of us can recall eating; ever; and mini chorizo sausages in quince gravy. 

Didn’t know it was a hotel as well.

We came for dinner and stayed over (please see my review on the restaurant's pages for Part 1 of this escapade).

Is there anything better than rolling into bed after you've been well-fed and watered?  No there isn't.  Cycling back to London or even the nearest station would have been seriously unappealing.  But we had the good sense to stay over.

Outside, there’s a common and a wood, so you think you’re not in fact in the suburbs, about 20mins bike ride from Surbiton or Esher stations.  

The rooms cutesy white clapboard with matching crisp white linen look.  Has a holiday feel.  We were on the upper floor - essentially in the roof - which I like because I feel like I'm in the famous five or something. But tall people would find that the area in which they can circulate without bending is drastically reduced compared with short people.  

The place is spick and span.  The beds are supercomfortable and the place is so quiet.  We slept like logs.  

Only criticisms were that there’s no place to hang clothes in that room - we actually didn't need to.  The floorboards are also quite creaky.  Tall people - go for downstairs rooms.  Light sleepers, go for upstairs.  Staff tell us that this is all the inherited fit out and will be addressed when it is renovated.  

Breakfast in the morning was awesome.  I’d come out here for brekkie alone.  For veggies there was fresh orange juice, yellow slow-scrambled eggs, sourdough toast, spinach, mushrooms with chives and tomatoes that had been roast in a very low oven with thyme and garlic – each element desirable in its own right.  And just enough.  My kind of brekkie.

As I recall - it was around £95 or thereabouts for the night, which is good value for this area, almost certainly the best brekkie for miles around. The place has character and of course it is a short hop from superlative pub food!  

The test of a good place to stay is when you think you have been away for longer than you have, for all the right reasons.  We were here for 18 hours and felt like it was a long weekend.  We returned deeply relaxed, letting the chaos of Waterloo wash over us.  Highly recommended.

An overnight stay that punched well above its weight

Just had our anniversary dinner. Table and welcome was aware of the event and felt very personal   The service was professional with the right sense of intimacy in terms of choices and recommendations. 
Food was very good and wine list made selection easy. Couldn’t have been a better evening. Strongly recommend.

Superb! Authentic and friendly

We wanted to write a review because we had such a great time at the Swan Inn, Esher. This is a very traditional type of English pub in a lovely area (it took us 40 minutes from Waterloo), and the Jose Pizarro team has really made it very lovely. The place itself is very light and fresh, the front of house staff are really sweet, and incredibly friendly. 
In the dining area, the food was really excellent - they’ve kept a typical British pub meal type menu so no foams and all that fuss, but they’re doing classic pub dishes with high quality Spanish ingredients, and a Spanish twist on each dish. Obviously you pay for quality so if you want crappy fast food then this place won’t be for you (although you can just have a drink at the bar, like any pub).
Jose’s scotch egg is extraordinary- made with butifarra and 5j Jamón. The fish and chips, batter made with estrella, is fantastic. The chorizo al vino is lovely. We loved the croquettes and the padrón peppers, and the boquerones really superb. Their tortilla is really worth trying too, and paella we had was phenomenal (we had the black rice one but I think it changes every week). They have a barbecue menu too but we didn’t try this - we’ll be back though!!
Like I said, quality ingredients aren’t the cheapest but we spent about £40 per head including good Spanish wine. 
The bar itself is really nice, very open and spacious. The garden is enormous and they have outdoor heaters which helps when it gets chilly. 
It’s impossible to not feel happy in this place, so much so, it might even be worth looking at property in the area! Loved it.

Amazing Spanglish pub

The Pizarro magic has finally arrived at an English pub. Great location. Interesting menu with a twist. Excellent food, great service and good value.Mr. Pizarro can you please open a restaurant in Kensington W8 please?

Congratulations

Pleasant but small room (perfectly adequate size) with air conditioning and good TV. Good location for us and lovely full English breakfast. Attentive staff who were quick to sort out any problems. We would definitely be happy to stay there again.
