We stayed two nights at the Wensum Lodge Hotel, staff were very friendly,  we had rooms 10 and 11, both of which were clean and comfortable,  room 10 had a fridge, Our room 11 was on the first floor, overlooking the rear of some private accommodation,  Although not very pretty it didn't bother us as we were only using the room to sleep in.The bathroom had recently been refurbished by the look of it, the shower was excellent, 
We opted for cooked breakfasts on both days, which were more than ample, cereal and toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee, also available,  Can't complain about anything,  Only thing that might be a problem if hotel is full, could be car parking, There isn't a great deal of parking space available, Fine when we were there,  as only a couple of other guests staying.
The hotel is set beside a river, which is nice to sit by and have a few drinks.

Friendly central hotel 

I am staying at this hotel as temporary accomadation since I have,arrived great welcome lovely friendly staff Jason and wife amazing nice clean room great service all issues are answered and beyond good menu,lovely place to stay

Great

Stayed for 2 nights.  Jason and his staff were really hospitable.  Rooms were well equipped. Plenty of tea and coffee and water.  Breakfast was prepared to order and was fresh and extremely tasty.  Ideal location for thursford show.  Will definitely go back.

Great hotel

My parents stayed for a weekend in one of the apartments. From the time they checked in to checking out they were looked after by the wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for them. The apartment was nice and clean and comfortable and they really enjoyed the breakfast. Thank you so much to Jason and his team for making them feel so welcome and looked after.

Good location and very friendly and attentive staff.

I have been going to Fakenham for over 15 years we only live in Heacham. Its the first time I have been into this establishment. We only had a couple of drinks as we had to drive home. I have never had such a friendly welcome before. Because of the virus I wanted to sit outside and there were no tables left. The owner organised us a table and chairs from the bar so we could sit by the river. AMAZING. I will be going back for a meal very soon. We had excellent service. Can't wait to go back we will prob book a room then nobody has to drive. Thank you so much for a great couple of hours.

amazing hospitality

Home cooked food, lovely staff, great bar and clean, fresh rooms. Lots of choice at restaurant and first class breakfast. One of my favourite Christmas breaks.  This is a real gem in beautiful Norfolk. I’ll be back. Thanks to all staff for making this a special

Xmas break 

Stayed at Wensum Lodge Hotel Fakenham for one night.
Went to the Thursford Spectacular Christmas Show which was ( I have to say) excellent especially the orchestra and singers- fantastic!
The hotel stay even though it was a 3 star hotel was very pleasant indeed.
The hotel room and bathroom were clean, tidy everything you needed including hairdryer tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits.
The evening meal was a roast which was delicious and the breakfast was excellent!
Jay the owner was a wonderful host , very friendly, and helpful. 
Tyler was a very pleasant young man on the waiting staff.
Would definitely recommend!

Thursford family night out and hotel stay

6 of us stayed for Thursford spectacular and enjoyed our stay. Very convenient as so close to the show, staff were very friendly, expecially a gentleman there who I think was the owner. Nothing was so too much. Rooms were homely, the bed was so comfy and warm and the facilities were good (soap, water, biscuits ect) dinner and breakfast was very good and we all enjoyed it. Any small issues we did have were dealt with promptly. I would recommend staying here if you are going to Thursford unless you are bad on your feet as there are no lifts. Thank you for a lovely stay. 

Nice, homely, convenient

Staff were very pleasant Breakfast was very well presented and plentifull Hotel from the outside needs some Painting but overall very welcoming had problem with plumbing in hotel room which management soon rectified by moving us to a brand new apartment which was fabulous highly recommend The Wensum Lodge Hotel  staff made you feel very welcome   

Lovely Place To Sray

A lovely location on the mill stream, easy to find and lovely rooms with newly renovated bathroom, although my room needed a new toilet seat or it needed to be fixed and the sink was quite small.  Shower was lovely.   Difficult to fill the kettle for a cup of tea as it wouldn't fit easily under the tap.

Rate was very reasonable.

Only downside was that the evening menu was very limited and not very inspiring, hotel only appeared to be open for guests and therefore was very quiet and the bar closed when no one was using it.

We went out for a meal, came back hoping to watch football and have a drink in the bar, but everything was closed, not what we expected at 8.30 in the evening.

Breakfast was however lovely and staff very attentive.
