Really appalled by the attitude of the management this evening to myself and my 15 year old son, who travelled quite a way to catch some live music at this 'family' pub. They advertise as a family pub but don't allow children in escorted by parents. They offer accommodation so the license license would not forbid it. About as friendly as a cornered rattlesnake. Avoid it if you have kids, and even if you don't...

NOT a family pub

Nice little local normally and sadly like most has been hit hard by Covid lockdown.   We booked a table for Friday evening, there was the mention that there may have been a catering van in for food so we were looking forward to an evening out. However we were not able to order drinks as the reader wasnt working on any of our phones. We were allowed  to order one round and pay by card at the table so we had that then left. Very disappointing. Hopefully things will improve

Horrible man behind the bar (name maybe neil) shouts at customers when he wants them to stand back from the bar, tables ect. I get they have to follow the covid rules but theres no need to be outright rude!!! Theres a polite way to talk to people as I've learnt working in retail. Otherwise I love this pub. Get rid of him and it would be five stars from me!

It’s a Really nice traditional English pub. Not the biggest pub in the world but Great atmosphere and nice outdoor space with a terrace type of area outside.  Really friendly staff too. Would recommend popping in.

Really nice traditional pub

To Farnborough on a rail replacement bus, in the immediate aftermath of Storm Dennis, to visit the "last remaining traditional pub" in Farnborough town centre. The pub is warm and welcoming, bathed in a soft yellow light. The decor is plain--textured wallpaper above, tongue-and-groove boarding below. Football was showing on a medium-sized TV at one end of the pub. Almost all the customers were standing clustered tightly round the bar, engaged in periodic conversation. My drink was very reasonably priced. 
The jukebox may be found on the wall near the pool table. No one was playing pool, but there were several cues leaning against the wall. The jukebox is not alphabetical, and it takes some time to scroll through tracks to find what you are looking for. The music is arranged according to genres. At first it appeared that the only genres available to choose from were Top 40, reggae, R&B, Country and Blues. Then I discovered that if you arrow down you can also choose from Jazz, Classical, Irish and the Beatles (remastered). (Irish includes The Boomtown Rats.) There may have been more genres to choose from, but my money ran out so I did not explore further. Within each category there is a fairly restricted choice, arranged alphabetically according to artist.
Outside the back door, at the top of a flight of steps, there is a covered smoking area with several seats--including a brand new wooden bench "dedicated to the memory of Raj," which had been soaked by horizontal rain from the storm. This area must be a nice place to sit on a summer evening. It is lit by strings of white fairy lights. (I noticed that when you look down, you see picnic benches arranged on an area of grass at ground level.) 
Every now and then a plane would coast by and disappear behind the rooftops, presumably bound for Farnborough Airport. Later there was a wide vista of sunset clouds.
The toilets are clean and tidy. A flyer advertised "free jukebox from 9pm on Saturday 22 February."
And so back to Woking on the rail replacement bus, the road quite badly flooded in places, especially in front of the Keogh Barracks.

Only interested in their weird local clique. 

Very expensive. 

Rude miserable staff. 

They do have regular live music which is a plus....... but you’d be better off going somewhere friendlier for a decent pint and made to feel at home.

A friendly welcoming pub.
Good selection of brews on tap and plenty of interesting characters in and around the bar with a good tale to tell.
The lady who was serving when I visited the place was really friendly and helpful.

Nice gaff with homely pub grub

Nice local pub/hotel.  A few minute's walk from Farmborough Main station
Good parking, simple pub atmosphere. Short walk to Wetherspoons for cooked breakfast and evening meals. Also convenient for Asda, Sainsburys and other retail outlets.

Stayed for one night during the Farnborough airshow, so we could make an early start. The lady who greeted us was friendly and helpful but I’ll be honest the pub has a bit of a ‘shameless’ vibe there were locals at the bar nursing drinks who seemed pretty well lubricated when we arrived and the atmosphere wasn’t really what I was expecting from the good reviews. 

The room was okay, it was clean and we had a complementary cold breakfast from a small fridge outside the room (which we weren’t expecting) but there was no curtain on the bathroom window which faced on to the road, so we couldn’t turn the light on! The shower had good pressure and the towels were clean. 
We had to have the windows open because it was really hot so unfortunately the drinkers/smokers underneath the window and passers-by kept us awake until the early hours shouting and swearing. I wouldn’t stay again.

We haven't been here for several years.  We wanted a quickish meal out while staying at our daughter's last week and remembering the very nice meals that we had had before, decided to go along.

We thought that, perhaps, ownership had changed, but I see from responses to some recent reviews that it has not.  When we ate here previously, there were some lovely menu choices and, if I recall correctly, a specials board. I actually said in my review, then not to be put off by the appearance of a locals pub, because the food was of good restaurant quality.    

This visit we felt that it was just a pretty bog standard pub menu and found it difficult to find something to tempt us.  As we didn't particularly want to go elsewhere, I settled on a steak and ale pie and my wife a jacket potato.  The one bonus was that my main course qualified me for a free starter, so we had some breaded mushrooms as well.  The pie was reasonably tasty but, sadly, all in all, our meals were very uninspiring considering the food that we have eaten here previously.
