**Disappointing Stay at Northbrook farm Cottages – Not as Advertised**

We stayed at Northbrook Cottages in Farnham as part of a bridal party in the Crocus Lodge family room. While the cottage was pleasant upon entry, the overall experience left a lot to be desired.

The rooms were average at best, but the skylight in the roof didn’t have any blinds, so the early morning light poured in, making it impossible to sleep well. The walls were not soundproof, and we could easily hear noise from outside and the neighboring cottages, which added to the discomfort.

The condition of the bathroom and room was quite poor—worn down with stained curtains, rust in the bathroom, and an unpleasant smell lingering. Some basic amenities were missing, like sink plugs, and there was no antibacterial handwash in either the kitchen or bathrooms. Considering the communal nature of the space, this is a big concern for hygiene. 

The pictures on the website were very misleading and didn’t reflect the reality of the lodge at all. 

On the plus side, the location is ideal if you're attending a wedding at Northbrook, as it’s only a 2-minute walk away. The wedding venue and grounds itself were lovely! 

Overall, the stay didn’t live up to expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend it based on cleanliness and the overall condition of the property.

**Disappointing Stay at Northbrook farm Cottages – Not as Advertised**

Northbrook Park was a stunning location for our wedding! From the first visit through to the wedding day itself the staff were incredibly helpful, answering all of my questions and ensuring the day ran smoothly. We were really lucky with the weather and we have the most incredible photos from the gorgeous backdrops that Northbrook Park offers. We couldn't have wished for anything better!

Amazing Venue! So grateful for the team

The cottage we stayed in has the potential to be special but the lack of care & maintenance spoils it.
The day before we arrived we were informed that the oven was not and would not be working, this was one of a few disappointments.
The door from the communal area to the stairs and front door is a sliding door, only problem is that it would jam and was very difficult to open & close, as we had a couple of toddlers that we were trying to keep away from the stairs it became an issue, also as this would be classed as a fire door it is potentially dangerous.
The bed runners were stained and faded and looked very shabby, the TV in our room was very small and with the bed on the opposite wall was not worth trying to watch.
Your website and other documents state that a continental breakfast is included when all you get are some packaged croissant that has printed on it “eat on day of purchase” and are delivered the night before, you also get some pots of porridge and some fruit bars, to describe this as a continental breakfast is a disgrace.
You are charging 5 star prices and providing barely 2 star accommodation, would not stay there again.

Wedding venue exceptional, accommodation very poor.

Our wedding day couldn't have gone any better thanks to the whole team at Northbrook. The venue is stunning. The team were so friendly and prompt throughout all communications before, during and after our big day. Many thanks to you all! 

From the moment we visited Northbrook Park we knew we had to get married here. It was the most beautiful venue we had seen, with so many rooms and options to meet your desired wedding style, and the option to house 80 guests on site with you in the cottages. 

So many of our guests echoed this, telling us how beautiful the venue was, that the vine room was so special to have a ceremony in, and that the cottages on site were very comfortable.

Throughout the planning process, right up to the wedding day and after, the wonderful team at Northbrook Park were so helpful, organised and positive, making the whole process so enjoyable. On the day, everything ran so smoothly, which really put us at ease so we could enjoy our day.

They also have a brilliant selection of recommended suppliers that you cannot go wrong whomever you decide to go with.

We had the most magical day and Northbrook Park was the perfect venue. 


The perfect wedding venue!

We chose Northbrook Park as the venue for our wedding and it was the most magical day ever! They had everything we could want in a venue. The deciding factor for us choosing this venue was the flow that the whole venue had. We had our ceremony in the vine room which then had a short walk under a canopy to where our reception drinks were in the garden. This was next door to where we had our reception and wedding breakfast. The whole planning phase and the day ran so smoothly thanks to the amazing staff here and it was just amazing. Another perk to this amazing venue is that our guests were able to stay on site in their cottages. 
Lastly the bridal suite!! such an amazing place. Ample space to get ready with bridesmaids including a kitchen and a fridge to keep the fizz chilled. 

Best wedding ever!

We had our wedding here and it was very special, Nikita, Hannah, Jordan, Georgia thanks for your support and kindness! 

Beautiful peacocks roaming the venue and great guest accommodation on site. The bridal suite / apartment was essential and the cottages on site were great for all guests to stay over and have a longer party after the reception party. Overall it was a great experience! Would love to stay here again sometime! The vine room is super special and the organgery room great for dinner and dance. Great set up by our suppliers within the venue. The gardens in the venue are amazing as there’s ducks, Swans and peacocks roaming around. Overall the venue staff are very helpful and are always on hand to help with any queries, would recommend to book this place.    



Amazing wedding venue

A huge thank you to the Northbrook Park team for everything they did in the lead-up to and on our wedding day. We got married in July, and ever since we booked the venue (more than a year ago), we've had the best communication and responsiveness from the team there. We could visit multiple times, and the team would always be willing to help or advise - no question was too small.

The venue is beautiful for a wedding as it has many different spaces and gardens. Our guests didn't stop commenting on the location and the views. For our wedding, which had multiple ceremonies and parts of the day, we found the perfect space for everything. We also loved the fact that there were cottages on site for our friends and family to stay.

All in all, we had the perfect day. Thank you again!

The perfect wedding venue

We got married at Northbrook Park in July and overall it was truly fabulous venue and we were very happy. In particular a couple of great things were:
- Beautiful venue: Overall the venue is absolutely stunning
- Responsiveness: In the build up to the wedding we found the staff to be very quick at replying to messages and well organised
- On-site accommodation: There are cottages which can accomodate up to 80 people, as well as 4 airbnbs which are very helpful

We did however have a few issues, none of them major but worth noting:
- Sound limiter: There is a sound limiter, which turns off the electricity if tripped 3 times. This is made very clear by the staff (and did not in fact trip on the night) and we understand this is due to residents on site but it still does significantly impact your experience there as the limit is not that high (and is not something we saw at other venues), so is an annoying limitation
- Lack of flexibility for accom: We were told we could not have my small cousin sleep on an air mattress on the floor in the on-site cottages because the occupancy cannot go over 8 for insurance purposes, yet Northbrook park offers to provide cots for babies so there seemed to be some inconsistency. Additionally, worth noting that the onsite cottages are only guaranteed to be available on the night of the wedding (and not beforehnand). Still very useful and not Northbrook Park's fault as it is due to other weddings happening the day before but worth flagging
- Hot water in the bridal suite: There is a lovely bath in the bridal suite, but the hot water did not work on the night of our wedding, so we could not use it
- Clarity in contract: Our contract stated we had full use of all rooms until 23.30 but then in other documents Northbrook wanted us to stop using the vine room from 21.00 or 20.00. This wasn’t a problem for us but I suggest in the future they align to one time and stick to it to avoid people being misled or disappointed
