Dated, smells, bits allover the carpets large families in other rooms with kids running up and down the landing the noise is atrocious as soon as you enter the hotel your met by Mike the Proprietor who is an alcoholic always drunk and you can smell alcohol on his breath when you check in wants the money up front you don't get past reception unless you have payed up front all he does anyway with the money is blow it on whiskey rather than putting money into the hotel shocking and appalling hotel.

Absolutely appalling, disgraceful 

A one nighter with three of us on motorbikes before catching an early train to Calais the next morning. Didn’t need breakfast - just wanted a room with 3x beds, an en-suite and tea/coffee facilities.  

Room was clean, if a little tired (like us) and apart from the shower head bracket, everything was exactly as we needed. In fact the broken bracket wasn’t a problem. We were on 2nd floor and the lift worked well - didn’t want to leave gear on the bikes overnight and, didn’t want to lug long-weekend camping equipment up 2x flights. 

Staff was friendly and check in/out was a breeze.

Stop off before Le Shuttle

I feel like in this hotel I was treated like a rat. It is awful, terrible, bad-looking, bad-smelling. It was tiny and didn't even have a room for meals! If I could I would give this hotel -5 stars. I mean it just felt like we were staying in a rats home to be honest because there was a family there making non-stop noise. If you are about to book this hotel, DON'T. Because you will deeply regret it and try hard to escape the hell of a hotel. Please do not visit. Please Windsor hotel, either fix this mess or get rid of your bad hotel. I've never ever been anywhere more terrible in my whole entire life.

Worst. Hotel. Ever

The Windsor hotel is the only hotel that we managed to book for a decent price for the last summer weekend, when everything was booked half a year ago. We were very pleasantly surprised. This is an absolutely old and untouched by time hotel. We were greeted by a probably 100-year-old grandfather and served very kindly. He even tried to arrange a card payment and although he failed, he put an amazing effort to do it. Everything in the hotel is very old-fashioned, clean, but just incredibly old. Paintings on the walls, lamps, room, carpets ... In a word - we liked it! And I realize that as soon as there is no grandfather left, there will be no more this ancient hotel ... And a new, shiny and chic will appear. Glad we still experienced it's style ♥

Beautifully time untouched hotel!

I got there and the owners of the hotel had their family sitting down on some chairs. Then we got to our room and from the outside, the toilet looked like a cabinet. There were only two beds *and four people*. This was the sh*ttiest hotel I've ever been to.

Worst hotel I've ever been to.

As soon as you hand the money over 
Mike the proprietor blows it on whiskey the rooms are appalling stayed at the hotel twice and both times Mike was drunk you could smell the alcohol on his breath the hotel does well with people staying one night then travelling to France they don't serve breakfast both Mike and his wife have got complacent & lazy shocking and appalling hotel. 

Alcoholic owner 🥃

Booked family room for myself, gf and our 2 babies... lady who checked us in was very rude & miserable.. told us our room was on second  floor... place is like a maze room wasn’t easiest to find. Room itself was DISGUSTING def not ideal for families.... draft blowing right through despite windows being closed,very cold (electric heater to replace non~working radiator) floor very slippery... 

Would avoid this ‘hotel’ at all costs wouldn’t even recommend it to stag/hen parties, only people I think that would appreciate this place would be the homeless 

Embarisingly shocking

Booked one night en route to France.

First of all - great location. BUT that’s where to positives end. 

Lacklustre but pleasant service from the staff/owner who gave us a key. We made our way around the DIY equipment and up the stairs (didn’t trust the lift as it looked like a death-trap) 

On entering the room everywhere you looked there was dirt and grime. The shower was held together with sealant and duct tape and didn't drain well enough to have a shower more than 2 minutes without it overflowing the tray. 

One of the single beds was very uncomfortable and sounded like a train if you so much as broke wind on it. 

The walls were flaking, the windows didn’t open properly, the curtains didn’t close and were hanging off the pole. 

Our second room (large family needed 2 rooms) had filthy, old, ill fitting carpets. 

They must have employed a blind decorator last time it was given a lick of paint, I suspect while Abba were still making number ones!

We seriously considered cutting our losses and booking into the Best Western over the road.

All in all this is the worst place I have ever stayed - and I have been known to wake up in a skip after a good night out.

So bad it was funny!

We stayed at this  hotel for one night en route to France. The positives: great location and friendly owner, sadly there are many more negatives. The room was dirty and extremely dated. The floors are uneven  it's in need of a total refurbishment and coat of paint. At £74 for a family room it's not that cheap but please pay a bit more and avoid!

Don't bother

Found the owner very un inviting and damn right rude the gentleman on arrival was obnoxious and rude we rang them to inform them that due to getting in a few traffic jams we would be late as expected . The hotel looks like a used brothel I slept the whole night on top on the duvet in my clothes. We entered the room to find that water was on bathroom floor leaking from the overfilled washing tablet box I wouldn’t even let a dog sleep in those conditions lucky we had my 18 months old daughters cot with us so she didn’t have to endure a flea pit of the bed. Maybe she and the gentleman need to look at getting a job that suits them.
