My wife and I, along with our little dog arrived after a lovely long walk in the Forest of Dean. We were met by Nigel and Jan. Whilst Nigel showed us around the beautiful historic their home, Jan brought to our suite a pot of Coffee and delicious scones with butter and Jam. What a welcome. The suite even surpassed the house, it was amazing, we had a Four Poster Bed. Everything was spot on. We had tea/ coffee making faculties with a nice selection of biscuits. The Bathroom, with underfloor heating was extremely well stacked with toiletries, all environmentally friendly.
To top it off, the breakfast was with out doubt the best we have ever had and we have stayed in top hotels around the world.
My wife even found time to have her nails painted by their daughter Sophie, whose Beauty Salon is the house.
Nigel and Jan should be proud what they have achieved in creating this B&B. I would strongly recommend everybody should experience it, We will be back next year.

Amazing Stay in Top Quality Guest House

My wife and I stayed at Brayne Court for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary. I noticed the wonderful reviews a few months ago, and decided to book since we wanted to explore the Forest of Dean, and Littledean seemed like a good base.

Upon arrival, Jan and Nigel provided tea and scones and we sat under the gazebo, a lovely relaxing start to our break. We had free reign of our own living room as well as our bedroom and en suite, together with separate bathroom. The house is exquisite and full of history, from Norman times through to the Tudor period, and Nigel and Jan have clearly invested a lot to maintain the charm of the property, and are very generous with sharing so much of the house with guests.

Breakfast was tasty and comprised of a full English with options for eggs and plenty of cereals on offer. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

On our anniversary we were treated to a bottle of Prosecco. A lovely gift that summed up the stay for me, since these extra touches make you want to return time and again. Highly recommend. 

A Step Back In Time

A stunning property run by a wonderful couple.
We (my 16 yr old daughter and I) were warmly greeted on arrival after a soggy walk and quickly shown to our room and then all of our other private areas - Bathroom with free standing bath and hand held shower as well as our own private sitting room.
Our wet coats were hung for us and we were served with piping hot tea and warms scones.

Our room was one of two suites, ample space and very comfy. Everything you could need in the room and sitting room - kettle, tea/coffee, fridge with fresh milk and chilled water, sweet and savoury biscuits.

Both the bedroom and sitting room had a tv too.

Breakfast is freshly cooked and served in a beautiful dining room along with the other guests. (Max of 6 people at anyone time, but usually only 4)

Recommendation taken for a meal on our 2nd night which was great

We would not hesitate to return and we definitely recommend Brayne Court for a personal but unobtrusive stay

Exquisite b&b with private soace

Nigel and Jan were brilliant hosts, very welcoming and there for your every need. The house is one of a kind and rich in history, Nigle was very kind to give us a little guided tour of the house and explain lots about its fascinating past. We really enjoyed our time here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. 

A Wonderful Stay

My wife, daughter (7), and I stayed at this amazing bed & breakfast for two nights. So much history here, built originally as a stone tower by the Norman’s around 1000-years ago, and expanded in the medieval  and Tudor periods to the house that stands today. 

Jan and Nigel were amazing hosts. The breakfasts were amazing and they gave us some great local recommendations and tips for visiting Bath.  They were also very accommodating for our daughter which was great. 

We will definitely have to go back again.

Amazing hosts in a historical house

We stayed at Brayne Court B&B in late June after doing a driving trip through Devon and Gloucestershire. The building itself has a very interesting history and has been beautifully restored. We booked the Tudor Suite and were very impressed with the bedroom which had a comfortable bed and period style furnishings. The bedroom had a shower and sink, and we also had exclusive use of a second bathroom and WC which were modern and well equipped. The drawing room, which we also had exclusive use of was amazing, with its Tudor fireplace and decorative furnishings. It was almost like staying in a castle! Jan and Nigel were excellent hosts, who were very friendly and cooked us a tasty breakfast. We wish we were able to stay for longer than a night - perhaps next time. Definitely recommend this if you're wanting to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. 

Historical homestead, hospitable hosts

Brayne Court is an absolute hidden gem. 
The owners Nigel and Jan make it their mission to exceed your expectations and they certainly do that.
From the moment you arrive it is obvious that this is far more than just a business for them.  They genuinely love to share their beautiful historic home with you.
We stayed in the Jacobian suite, complete with a four poster bed and a priest's hole. 
It was such a delight to be a part of the history of this house, even if it was just for a brief moment in time.
Thank you so much Nigel and Jan, your thoughtfulness and kindness was much appreciated. 
Don't just take our word for it though, please do visit for yourself.  I promise you will not be disappointed.

Hidden gem in the Forest of Dean

I booked this through a voucher I bought for my fiances birthday and after a lot of trouble with the voucher company, Jan was more than accommodating and couldn't do enough to help. We had one evening there and I wish we were able to stay for longer! The house is beautiful and steeped in history. The hosts were wonderful and so very welcoming from the minute we arrived. I was very impressed with the attention to detail and all the personal touches in each room of the suite. Breakfast was spot on and it was lovely and clean throughout. We will be recommending to all of our friends and will definitley be returning ourselves. Can not speak highly enough of Brayne court and the wonderful hosts. 10 out of 10 and 5 stars.

Absolutely stunning

My partner booked this bed and breakfast for us as we had a family reunion nearby, he found it online. It was absolutely beautiful, we had a whole suite to our selfs. It is a amazing old building from the 13th century in excellent condition and absolutely spotless. The owners are perfect and charming, and the breakfast was second to none. It was an honour to stay there and we would definitely love to go back and stay again and again. Thank you very much.

Weekend away

As you walk through the gate into the walled garden and see a quintessential English country garden you can tell immediately you're going to be in for a treat..... and what a treat. 
To be able to stay in a house that has evolved over not decades but centuries ( and has not been sanitised by the National Trust ) is rare indeed. It is a truly amazing place to stay and experience but I won't spoil the surprises  that are in the warren of rooms and staircases.
How on earth the lovely owners keep the place so clean is beyond me. Bed linen was fabulous, there was everything and more one could need in our suite and rooms were warm and cosy.
A really good breakfast awaited us in the morning and the dining room complete with lit candles and a fire was very atmospheric.
The owners are very kind and friendly, we felt very comfortable staying there and we have arrived home feeling we must return.
