We had booked a month in advance and received an email three days out saying our reservation was canceled due to construction and remodeling delays. We were already in another country at this point and had to scramble to find other accommodations. Obviously 'unforseen' things can't be planned for, just something other travelers may want to keep in mind when booking a smaller company

Disappointed

Never had the chance to stay here. Had reservation booked for May 2023 and just 3 weeks prior to arrival, hotel cancelled our reservation due to remodeling.  Left us high and dry. Trying to find another hotel in area on such short notice is proving to be a problem. Traveling with a group. No help from Lime Tree. Travelers beware.

Not the place to stay

I would not choose this hotel to stay again on vacation. Too many problems to list. Over a couple of weeks in Scotland and staying at 5 different locations, this was the worst room and bathroom we had. Many things in need of repair. The restaurant was good and location was good.

Would not pick this hotel again

Short stopover,  great location with parking, very friendly staff and amazing view of the Loch.  We stayed in the Mews and generally it was good, upstairs is a nice seating area and kitchen with all essentials.  Downstairs it was cooler but ok once we turned the heat up.  There is no wifi to the Mews and we struggled with the TV but it was checked as soon as we reported it.  It has all the ingredients for a great small hotel, there was just some small things to focus on such as front door not closing properly unless locked, the wifi and other small things.

More like a 3.5 and good stop over

This is a small hotel and very charming. It feels family-run, which I don't think is the case at all. I highly recommend Room 1, which is a corner room with views of the loch and a four-poster bed. I wish I had stayed for dinner, as the breakfast was first class, with a chef preparing it from scratch right before your eyes.

Great breakfast

A typical Scottish cottage close to the city centre, the Lime Tree An Ealdhain is very characteristic, starting from a splendid entrance to a very particular art gallery, with a very comfortable lounge space adjacent to it.

Good choice

Perfect hotel. A beautiful room with a view of the lake. Free parking on site. Lunch made to order: a sheet to fill the night before with all our requirements. In the morning, our table was ready: at the top! We also tested the restaurant for dinner and it was excellent, I can only recommend everything was perfect.

Perfect in every way.

The hotel is something special, no doubt. Individual, exceptional, different... but: unfortunately, the rooms are not very good at shooting, the bathrooms should be renovated, the carpets in the rooms should be changed, and so on. The restaurant was better in 2015 than this year, you get the impression that it's difficult to find good staff for the kitchen. The service was perfectly fine. All in all: 3.5/5

It could be better.

This hotel is certainly the most beautiful place we have stayed on this holiday! The room is really nice, comfortable, spacious, tastefully furnished; the bathroom is also very nice and spacious. In the common areas there are two rooms with a sofa including one equipped with a fireplace that on the day we arrived was on and made you really want to spend some time sitting in this environment relaxing. Overall you also feel really comfortable and you have the feeling of being in a real house. The restaurant is very recommended, brought of level but atmosphere for no snob. Very friendly staff. What if we could go back from these parts we would choose it without hesitation! Completely for the perfect structure!!!

It's a nice surprise.

We rented the little cottage behind the hotel, it's actually the renovated garage. One of the two rooms is nice and the other is glazed with a very bad double bed.
