Where to start?
From the moment you're welcomed by lovely hosts Maggie and Paul you are made to feel so at home - nothing is too much trouble, there are wonderful touches such as the scrumptious lemon drizzle cake, a bottle of port and chocolates on arrival, the breakfasts are to die for, the accommodation is spotless and the views are just stunning.
All we regret is that we didn't book the full week rather than three days - if you want a sumptuous base for exploring this gorgeous unspoilt part of the north east coast then look no further because I doubt you'll find anything this special anywhere else.
Can't praise highly enough, and we can't wait to go back.

Simply Perfect!

We visited for my husbands 60th birthday. 
We were made very welcome by Maggie and Paul, chocolate cake and port in the lounge room. Coffee, choice of teas fresh milk and a fridge.
Also glasses for wine or long drinks. Lovely decor and attention to detail fabulous choice of breakfast served in the suite very generous serving, we didn't need lunch especially with the cake to return to. The view across to the sea was lovely even saw deer from the window. All in all a lovely place to stay. I would definitely recommend if you are out that way and want to treat yourselves.

Birthday Trip

I totally agree with the glowing reviews of this exceptional B and B. Attention to detail in every respect coupled with truly personal service make this an outstanding place to stay. For me, the view from the back of the house and the lovely cats made it even more special. Great British hospitality in a Victorian setting.

I came upon this place by a stroke of luck when I was browsing Trip Advisor.  I read the comments and liked what I saw, so I booked.  From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome and engaging friendly conversation.  We were shown to our room upstairs and I kid you not, I've never stayed in a B&B as lovely as this.  The bedroom was charming, well decorated and clean!  You could tell that someone had put a lot of thought into this decorating.  The living room was just as lovely and in there you had a dinning table and fridge.  On the table sat a lemon drizzle cake (home made I learned today).  Coffee, teas of all kinds, hot chocolate...you name it, it was there.  The bathroom was beautiful.  There was a roll top bath with a shower option over it. The bathroom was so pretty and well done.  Most people overlook decorating there but they did this up nicely.  Breakfast both mornings...we were served fruit salad and toast with jam and marmalade, coffee or tea and fresh juice.  Then our main courses came.  The salmon and eggs was so fresh it was unreal.  You are given more than plenty, we did not have lunch till 3PM both days and we had our breakfast at 9AM.  I am very pleased with my visit to The Fern Suite.  We were treated so well and looked after in such a good way.  I would reccomend this place to anyone.  It is the epitome of excellence.  

10th Anniversary Spectacular

I have stayed with Maggie at The Fern Suite three times now! We were staying there when we got engaged and have since returned for both our wedding anniversaries, as it holds lovely memories for us. We're quite independent travellers and know the area well but Maggie goes to so much effort to make sure we're comfortable and advises us of new places to see and try. The homemade cake is always something I look forward to and what I make a beeline for when I get there! Well that and the stunning view from our private living room (!), it really is picture perfect and it's lovely to watch the horse in the paddock and all the birds visiting Maggie's garden. I can't speak highly enough of the Fern Suite. If you're planning a trip up to RHB for a special occasion this is the place to stay!

Best B&B in Robin Hood's Bay!

We booked the Fern Suite for the first 2 nights of our trip to The North Yorkshire coast to celebrate our Anniversary and we are so glad that we did.
We had a lovely welcome from Maggie and were shown to our rooms, in fact the whole top floor of a beautifully decorated and cared for house. The accommodation is fabulous, a lovely bedroom with a king sized bed and just next door your own lounge with an amazing view over fields to the headland and sea. The lounge has all you need, tv, DVD player, fridge, locally made port for a nightcap and a delicious home made cake. In fact, we could want for nothing. Breakfast was delicious, served in the lounge, with a fabulous choice and not hurried at all. 
I would undoubtedly recommend the Fern Suite, Maggie & Paul were so lovely and we really enjoyed meeting Arthur and Reggie, their 2 beautiful cats - a home from home.

Excellent!!

My wife and I booked the Fern suite for our anniversary. Ahead of our trip I had contacted the owner to advise them of my wifes dietry requirements and for a bottle of fiz to be waiting for us. They were more than happy to meet both requests.
On arrival a parking space had been arranged for us, which can be tricky in this area. There was also a home made cake, flowers and a welcome sign waiting for us which was a nice surprise.
At the Fern Suite you occupy the whole of the top floor. This includes a spacious bedroom, separate living room and bathroom for your exclusive use. All are decorated with period features which complement the building. It is spotless throughout.
Breakfast is served in your living room at the time of your choice and there was plenty of menu options. It was excellent cooked and presented.
There were also nice touches such as a bottle of port in the living room if you fancy a nightcap.
The owners are friendly and helpful and the Fern Suite is located just on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Robin Hoods Bay.
