Went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious! You can have one meat or choose all 3 if you like .
The veg was especially delicious and prepared perfectly .
It was a real feast
Cauliflower, broccoli   Creamed leaks (oh boy were they good!) mash potatoes cooked perfectly. Red cabbage and of course roast potatoes and a large home made yorkshire pudding. It was a special occasion so we treated our selves to a bottle of wine which was very good indeed 
Dog friendly and a park for the children. What more could you need.  We will be back !

Fantastic home cooked Sunday lunch with all the trimmings !

Just returned from a 2 night break with our granddaughter.  The bedroom was clean and a good size although a little awkward to get to the bathroom when the sofa bed was set up.  The bathroom was a great size with bath and shower and plenty of towels.  There was also tea, coffee, water and biscuits in the room and it's in a perfect spot to walk to Robin Hoods Bay, there is also a beer garden with a small kids play area. The breakfast was lovely as was the evening meals.

The downside and what really let's this place down is the cleanliness of the pub area and toilets.  It is also quite neglected and could do with a good revamp, the tables at breakfast  were not cleaned properly and neither were the toilets.  The place could do with a really good clean a lick of paint, and a bit more attention to detail and it would be a great family pub and B&B.
It also has a 3 star heigine rating which I didnt know when I booked but I'm sure they could get this up to 5 star with a little TLC.

Average but could easily be made better

We stayed for two nights on a mini tour of Yorkshire. Booked through an on line sight, and the photos were either out of date or a bit deceptive. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly chap who showed us to our room. First impression was okay. We stayed in room 1. It was a good size. Clean and tidy but very dated. Bathroom really needed an overhaul. Not as clean as the bedroom, Plumbing was noisy and taps hard to turn on and off. Separate shower was okay. Only one partly used toilet roll, which ran out by the second night. 
The first night we booked a dining table in the conservatory, but had to move into the bar area, as it was very cold from draughts around rotten window frames, and bench seating was very stained and dirty from damp. The food was okay and throughout our stay all staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meals were not outstanding but okay, drinks were a good price, and breakfast was of a reasonable standard. 
It was a shame that the majority of the building is crying out for refurbishment. We both thought that due to its condition, the accommodation was overpriced. In such a good location for exploring, the place really has potential. The pub is very dog friendly, which is obviously a personal choice. Not the end of the world but it would’ve been nice for a part of the restaurant to be dog free, as on occasions, there was lots of barking.

Sadly disappointed

We went for lunch, seven people including a three year old. 
The menu was varied with a good selection of gluten free vegan options.
The food was excellent, large portions, piping hot and enjoyed by everyone.
 A very satisfying experience all round

Popped in for an early evening meal as we were staying at the campsite round the corner. Ordered 2 x scampi and chips. The portions were huge but the food was tasteless and well below average.  Not sure it was Whitby scampi as it usually tastes aloy better than that. Definitely wouldn't go again and will stick to the pub in the bay.

Very poor

We arrived on a Saturday evening with no table booked, the place was very busy but we was told that if we could find a table which wasn't reserved we could have it, we found a table in the conservatory. The food only took 35mins to come out even though it was very busy and it was amazing. Really good food with huge portions. 

The things we really liked are:
-the amazing food and portions
- the outdoor play area 
- dogs allowed but a dog free conservatory 

Can't wait to visit again. 

Great food and huge portions 

Thursday night is steak night.  2 steaks (rump or sirloin) and a bottle of wine for £45.00. We both chose rump which was sourced from a local butcher, it was tender and full of taste. It came with proper home made chips, onion rings, tomato, mushrooms, salad with dressing and coleslaw. It was one of the best steak dinners we have had. The bottle of wine was also very  good. We were served by a delightful student of Esk school who was extremely attentive. All in all, a good night out.

Splendid meal for 2

Weekend break, but weather not the best. Wet Friday so why not try a few beers Wainwright golden beer was good with others to choose from, Pink gin was good with a wonderful evening meal, no room for pudding. Breakfast was good plenty to go at. Nice little walk from here to Robin Hoods bay just about 1/2 mile away. Nice overnight stay with no noise to spoil your sleep apart from the rain, second day better to see the area again to return for a pint and a good English Breakfast before moving on. Would like to return again in the Summer months.

Absolutely first class from start to finish.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely food and fantastic service.
Portions where big - the small fish and chips was more like a whale, the batter was delicious and light, lasagne was amazing, very hot and the topping was crispy.
Everything was clean and tidy and it all felt very safe.
A absolute must if passing 👍

Family get together 

What an absolutely fantastic village pub/Inn. Accommodation brilliant with all necessary amenities provided in the room, food including breakfast, lunch and dinner absolutely superb and yummy portions. Staff totally welcoming and friendly and especially "Mark" who had us laughing so much with his great sense of humour. This place is ideally located for Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby and we highly recommend Fylingdale Inn. Definitely be back real soon  👍👍😄😄
