We had a 2-day break and we found the room was good, but the outstanding part was the staff, they all seemed to muck in and do anything as required and they were friendly and helpful. It would have been even better if they could have controlled the weather. We were so impressed that we are already planning a return visit

Everything! A great location on the NC500 and facing a great view and beach.
We had a cheerful and friendly welcome from reception.
Our rooms faced the view and were spotless as was every area of the hotel.
The 3 course evening meal option was very well-priced but the quality and quantity were so good we could only manage 2 courses!
Breakfast was equally excellent with a full range of cereals, yogurt, fruits and juices. The buffet was regularly topped up, especially the all-important fried eggs! Toast and preserves naturally followed.
This has been the very best of the good venues (5 others) on the NC500 route.

Two blokes on a quick tour of the west coast.
Arrived early evening and booked in very quickly. We were on the first floor with a wonderful view across the loch. Room basic but ideal for a one night stay.
Evening meal was excellent. The fish I had was so big, both ends were hanging off the edge of the plate. The breakfast was basic, buffet style with plenty of choice and everything was regularly replenished.
Every member of staff we met, met us with a smile and a friendly chat.
The decor in the hotel is a tad dated, very typical of this style of hotel in the highlands. 
Would I recommend this hotel or stay again - Absolutely.
A real gem of a hotel in a truly wonderful location.

Ideal hotel in wonderful location

Great Hotel in a fab location.
We stayed overnight as part of our NC500 tour  and are travelling with our dog.
The hotel is an impressive old building opposite a lovely quiet beach.
Staff were friendly and helpful, our room was large and well equipped and breakfast was plentiful and tasty.   The public areas of the hotel are lovely and classic.  Some people have grumbled about a bit of ‘datedness’ but everything was clean and in good condition - So what if the pattern is no longer trendy!  
We loved the location and Gairloch is a delightful town to explore with a lovely coastal aspect, super beaches, good amenities and a hotspot for marine wildlife.

Pet friendly, great building, perfect location!

We stayed here as part of our NC500 trip. The hotel is situated across the road from a lovely beach and is easy to access. There’s a small car park at the front and more space at the back. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and given our keys - we had booked two rooms and had kindly been allocated adjoining rooms which was great as we were travelling with children.  We’d paid the upgraded rate for sea view rooms and it was definitely worth it - we were lucky to have great weather during our trip and the views were simply superb. Our rooms were freshly refurbished and of a decent size - nice clean bathrooms. 

We didn’t eat dinner in the hotel but did have breakfast - there’s a big dining room with plenty of tables - everything is buffet style and both hot and cold options were fresh and regularly replenished. 

Aside from the views, my favourite thing about the hotel was the staff. Everyone was simply lovely to us from arrival to departure, and we had a great stay.

NC500 Stay

I was with 2 friends on an Eclipse coach tour and stayed from 6th to 10th June 2022.
The trip was well organised and the staff at the hotel were efficient and helpfull.  Accommodation was spotless and food choices were varied each day with a good selection. Breakfast was buffet style.
Jinnty and Kirsten were good hosts in the bar.
The staff in the restaurant worked hard keeping the guests well fed.
We really enjoyed our stay.

A four night visit with the Eclipse  coach party

Hotel is at a very scenic spot and looks grand. The room was very spacious with all amenities. Staff were great. We stayed for one night while touring NC500. Kitchen closed at 8pm so cudnt eat dinner (plenty of options close by). Breakfast was the grand. 

Ps. Floors are very creaky and noisy.

Great hotel at a fantastic spot

We stayed at this hotel as part of a coach trip.  Room were nice enough and clean which is important however the inside of the kettle was filthy.  We had twin beds and one of them was on their last legs very noisy but comfy enough.  Shower was great as far as hotel showers go.  Meals were ok. there is a Morrisons Daily about a 10 min walk from the hotel which was handy.  This is a dog friendly hotel which I didnt mind but might put some people off.  We had a power cut while we there and was a bit shocked at the lack of communication from the hotel but I get this might happen quite often due to severe weather and maybe there just take it in their stride.  

Nice enough for a short stop over

We had a nice stay here.  Yes the bathroom in our room was dated and in need of an upgrade but the room itself was clean, cosy and nicely decorated.  Bed was comfortable.  Room was small though and  the floorboards were incredibly creaky and in the corridor too (but it is a Victorian hotel after all).

The receptionist was very pleasant and the other staff polite and efficient.

Plenty of areas to sit and relax and games to keep you occupied if weather bad. 

Food was excellent-served quickly.  They seem to have everything well organised both at evening meal and at breakfast.

Enjoyable stay

Hotel facing the bay. Old but modern, warm cozy feeling. Plenty of sitting rooms and area for after dinner relaxation. Bar area spacious. Food is good and service is good. Bar is well stocked and beautiful wood. Rooms were cozy. Smaller but still roomy. Nice hotel.
