What can you say about this hotel, except its fantastic. The room was light and bright.  Decor was lovely and so clean, couldn't find anything wrong. The manager and staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, they went out of their way to help.  The food was lovely and as for the full English, it was brilliant and set you up for the day. I would stay again without and hesitation.

Christmas day 5 course meal. I was so looking forward to this well anticipated Christmas lunch,what can I say £65 per head for a mediocre takeaway Sunday lunch and frozen cake no wonder we left early never to return and to top it off not even a decent cracker no gift just £1 shop tat

After a few years of bereavement and being alone I thought id take my mam for Christmas lunch .

Been staying in The Sutherlands several times over the last ten years a bunch of submariners gathering for a reunion October every year.
The staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming .
The breakfast is of good quality and filling .
This last weekend I found a microwave and small fridge in room 9 , a benefit if staying for a few days .
Very clean rooms and in general the whole hotel is clean.

Submariners weekend

Lovely clean hotel, great breakfast and extremely friendly owners and management ! Stayed with a friend for a concert weekend away ! Christina n Alan made our stay ! Christina couldn’t have been more helpful with local knowledge and how we got where, how and when ! Thoroughly enjoyed our girly weekend and we will see you in December when we return to see Madness 😍

Concert trip

Just got back from our stay here and it was honestly the best weekends we have ever had…staff are AMAZING!! Christina welcomed us in and she was lovely and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. She made us feel so welcome. 
The room was spotless and we both agreed that it was the best nights sleep we have had in ages! 
Amazing place, great people and we can’t wait to come again at Christmas. Thanks guys :)  

Weekend away for a concert

From moment we arrived staff were so friendly bar was busy nice friendly environment, we were down for a boxing sparing camp they tailored everything to suit us including splitting beds or to dietary requirements couldn’t do anymore for us, I will definitely be going back thanks for everything, Paul

Boxing visit

Absolutely disgusting! Room was filthy, the heating didn’t work, bathroom full of mould. Sheets clearly hadn’t been washed. Staff couldn’t care less. Couldn’t sleep as there was a loud beer garden right outside full of people swearing and fighting. And to top things off, there were a bunch of Nazis/conspiracy theorist weirdos having some sort of meeting in the bar area during the afternoon. Would give this place 0 stars if I could. AVOID.

Don’t go.

Came down expecting breakfast about 830. No one there, apart from the cleaner. She was lovely and did her best but there was no chef qnd no manager visible in the hotel at all. 
No tables set,  as if they weren't expecting anyone for breakfast. We went back to room to pack up as we needed to be away quickly. Manager phoned and we requested a refund. Really disappointed that breakfast wasn't started by 9am, which seems very late. 
Got a cash refund for breakfast after having to explain on phone that we needed to be away.

Wouldn’t touch this place with a barge pole. They allow their facilities to be used by individuals Mark Steele and Lee Garret who are both criminals promoting conspiracy theories and anarchy. Avoid this place like the plague.

Too many idiots.

Booked in for Christmas day Lunch and overnight stay. The table was ours from 12 for the whole day  with excellent lunch and courses all served as an when we wanted them dessert and cheese board were a buffet affair and all available till early evening. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere friendly an had a homely Christmas feel. Thankyou to the owners Helen an Heather and great staff, Looking forward to next year
