Nice little pub in the North Yorkshire moors that were very welcoming to us and our dogs, wonderful service from all the staff.
Food was very nice with a decent selection and generous portions.
Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for somewhere to eat in the area.

Nice, dog friendly pub, lovely food.

We stopped for a few beers and something to eat. The fish and chips are the best we have ever had, better than Whitby. 
Staff were very friendly, Guiness was  as good as it gets. Lovely and warm after a hard  mornings walk .All in all a really nice time. We will be back.

Fish and Chips were Outstanding

Stayed one night on C2C.   Having spent 13 nights staying in varying accommodation, this was by far the worse and one of the most expensive. Staff were welcoming, but the accommodation was pretty grim, tired,shabby, and definitely not worth the pricey sums charged.  Feel ripped off - £120 on b&b basis for a room that is way below an acceptable standard.

Poor accommodation

Nice stay for two tired and hungry coast to coast walkers. Room was clean, shower nice & bed comfy. Slept well. 
Pub food downstairs did take a while but was good. Breakfast was good and catered to GF and vegetarian. Overall stay = happy customer :)

Recommend for C2C

Disappointing stay. Bathroom was grotty with an intermittent horrendous stench coming from the plumbing as other rooms flushed toilets, cold water turned hot, food average in the restaurant, hair in breakfast. Getting chased out the room 40 minutes before check out was a particular bugbear! Wouldn’t go back 

Disappointing, not worth the money

Rooms are very dated and the bathroom had a terrible damp smell. Food was average and not great. The landlady was very friendly but continued to clean up around us whilst we were having breakfast. Unless you really need to stay in the area I would avoid. Not a good experience for two tired walkers.

Poor experience

The rooms are a tad basic but clean and very comfortable.  They were also made available to us ahead of the check-in time which was appreciated.  The hard-working landlady was doing everything she could do to keep guests happy including helping with us with bags to our rooms and giving us some snacks so we could make an early start the next morning.  We had an excellent dinner in the evening in the nice spacious dining room. 

Good location and very helpful staff 

As soon as we walked in the door we were made so welcome, the food is fantastic and the staff were amazing, our room was lovely and warm and cosy and had tea and coffee facilities we will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic

This delightful country pub is in a remote location but very quiet and picturesque. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was clean and spacious, only the bathroom was a little on the small side but the power shower more than made up for that. We ate in the restaurant and the food was superb, definitely worth it. We slept well and enjoyed a good breakfast with plenty of choice. Throughout our stay we enjoyed good friendly chat with the staff, Becky, Tony & Yvonne. Nothing was too much trouble. If you want a quiet night or two away at a lovely country pub/hotel then this is definitely recommended. We will be back.

Lovely stay.

We visited this excellent pub on three occasions during our stay in glaisdale . On the first visit we were greeted by friendly hosts . Despite the fact they were not serving food on that particular lunchtime they were able to cook and serve us delicious scampi and chips . We booked for the sunday lunch the following day . Again the food was excellent with very generous portions .  A great pub with warm friendly hosts who serve freshly cooked excellent food
