For one of the nights on our annual trip to Scotland, we decided to stay in again near Loch Ness. I always look out for B&B's outside of larger towns, and in the middle of nature. Well, you can't go wrong with Highland Bear Lodge. Not so far of the town of Drumnadrochit or even Inverness, but nicely tucked away in the hills to Cannich. Lovely, spacious room and bathroom. Easy self check-in and a continental breakfast ready in your room to eat the next morning. We booked an Organic Highland Tour with the owner, Mark Dann, and we would definitely recommend it! You get to see some roads, of the beaten track and we were lucky enough to spot some deer.

Peacefull location near the busy Loch Ness

Just stayed at the Highland bear lodge as an early start to our NC500 trip.
Room was excellent and we had a great nights sleep!
Surroundings and views were fantastic.
Hotel felt very unique and was very picturesque in its setting.
Host was really friendly & welcoming.
We didn’t use the communal living room but it looked very welcoming all the same!

Excellent & Friendly Stay

Such an ideal spot located in the heart of the highlands with easy access to stunning countryside. Immaculate rooms and an incredible Highland Welcome! 
The Lodge is exceptional and very unique, managed by Mark & Rach.
A Hot Tub, Highland Tours by moonlight and secret tips on local walks are all part of their service… even access to Skiing and Paragliding!

Feeling truly Tartanised! A very ‘Bear’able place

This was everything I wanted in a B&B: charming and large bedroom, modern bathroom, hot tub, well-appointed common areas with a very reasonable price tag.  It was possibly the best place we stayed the whole trip (especially considering the absurd prices we paid at some more luxury properties).  Breakfast was well-prepared takeout option (breads, smoked salmon, cheese, etc.), which was actually lovely rather than having to schedule a sit down Scottish breakfast at other places, allowed us to snack while we road tripped.  Next time I would stay multiple nights!

Excellent B&B, definitely stay here.

Stayed in one of the bear huts at Highland Bear lodge and am very glad that I did. The host had made arriving and checking in a seamless experience with plenty of detail via email beforehand and plenty on arrival. The surroundings are really out of this world, well kept and in tune with the locality. The hut was very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need to hand. I’ll be booking again here without a doubt, I could sit outside at the table for ever and a day. Bed comfy, electric kettle, tv, shower, wc, cooking rings, bbq, fridge, heating… all in a bear hut. Most importantly… nature and peace!

Stay here! Don’t pass this one by.

We stayed for just one night in the Bonnie Prince Charlie suite. Beautiful room, had a big four poster bed which was so comfy, plenty of storage space and absolutely everything you’d need. The bathroom was very spacious and everywhere was very clean. We had our continental breakfast already in the room for us, which was generous in size and there was something for everyone! We had robes to wear and really did feel like Lord and Lady of the Manor! 

The highlight  of the break away was the exclusive use of the hot tub, which was just outside our room. We relaxed in there for hours  and looked down onto the valley with the loch, it was just idyllic and perfect in every way. You really need to experience it to understand just how beautiful the setting is! 

Mark was a great host and the communication prior to our stay was fab.

I would recommend this place to anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a while. I cannot wait to come back here!

Romantic, peaceful getaway!

Booked a weekend break at the Highland Bear Lodge and ended up staying an extra night. Beautiful scenery, fabulous room and excellent host. Couldn’t ask for any more! Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Fantastic break!

Just WOW! If you want to have an authentic setting for a Scottish break and to feel like being a King/Queen in a castle, then this is definitely the place to be. The main Lodge feels so grand but extremely homely and cosy at the same time. We stayed with another couple and hired the 'ski lodge' for the evening, cooked a pizza and sat in the cosy lodge with the fire going, looking out to the trees and stars. The breakfast was left in our room with even a paper bag to use if you wanted to have breakfast on the go, Mark is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. It was such a treat to stay here and will definitely be back again. I also saw a red squirrel!

Amazing Highland Lodge!!

Just home from a 3 night stay at the Highland Bear Lodge for our wedding anniversary.  What an amazing place. Booked last minute and had the King Suite. Really nice but no loch views, but it doesn't matter as sitting infront of the log fire or on the terrace each night is fantastic. We gave Mark a call on the Friday night to ask if the fire could be lit. He said no probs it is all set up for you whenever you need it. Like sitting in a castle. We felt quite Regal. Nice in room breakfast in the mornings that are left in the fridge the day before. Did not want to leave. Thanks Mark and Rach. We will be back. 
Would recommend Sunday dinner at The Loch Ness Inn, Drumnadrochit.

Amazing Highland Lodge

We were travelling with another couple and booked both bear huts and the ski hut. What a fantastic stay we had. Bear huts are perfectly appointed, extremely comfortable beds. We cooked pizzas up at the ski hut & soaked in the atmosphere. Hosts were chatty & welcoming. Only sorry we'd not booked for longer. Highly recommended, faultless.
