Having had out trip to Mexico cancelled, 5 nights away in our little peace of heaven, was definitely in order.
Everything was Covid friendly, and we managed a little cuddle with Florence too. As usual Fiona and Tim, were very welcoming hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. Sadly this was our last visit to Eighteen97 😢 But we will see you on the other side.

Just what the doctor ordered

Like many other TA reviewers who have posted their comments on here recently, we were well ready for a change of scenery once the lockdown restrictions eased and as always, Eighteen97 was the perfect place to go for a few days away. As expected from our numerous previous visits, every COVID measure was in place not only to comply with government guidelines but also to ensure the safety and comfort of guests. Tim and Fiona run a fantastic B&B and the welcome was as warm and friendly as ever.  We had our regular Elgar room, with the additional seating area and the super comfy bed, which made our stay as luxurious as usual.  Breakfast is always a much-anticipated treat and I'm pleased to report that this time was no exception - as well as the superb full English on offer, Fiona's specials are fantastic. This time I enjoyed "Mucky Eggs" and Huevos Rancheros - both of which provided a spicy kick to start the day!  Tim's front of house service was as unique as ever and although his use of additional PPE when serving the table was both professional and thoughtful, it did make him look a bit shifty and I was never quite sure what was going on behind that mask at times :-). We cannot recommend this wonderful B&B highly enough and very much look forward to enjoying Tim & Fiona's hospitality again soon.

Perfect Post-Lockdown Break

What can we say. What a wonderful stay we have just experienced at Eighteen97. Fiona and Tim cannot do enough for you, the breakfasts were outstanding with plenty of choice, all freshly prepared and locally sourced. A Gem of a Find

My wife and I have stayed with Tim and Fiona many times before and think of their beautiful B&B as almost a second home. We hadn’t been for a while as first family circumstances and then Covid-19 kept us away. However, like so many others, we felt the need for a change of scenery once lockdown was relaxed and there was only one place we wanted to go - the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors.  Given that, there was only one place we wanted to stay - Eighteen97. We felt confident that if anyone could make us feel safe and protected in these worrying times it would be Tim and Fiona. Their attention to detail and cleanliness has always been second to none, but even so they have excelled themselves and stepped up to the mark to make Eighteen97 feel a very COVID-safe place to stay. There are hand sanitizers outside the front door, just inside the front door, half way up the stairs and in the bedrooms.  They welcome you as warmly as ever, but now at a safe distance. They arrange things brilliantly so that guests are kept safely apart at all times and not once did we feel anything other than totally safe and cared for. We cannot commend them highly enough. If you also long to get away for a “safe” break, you won’t go wrong opting for this fantastic B&B with its stunning views.

A welcome break

My husband and I have stayed with Fiona and Tim at Eighteen97 before so when we wanted to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary we knew a stay here would be perfect and it was. In these uncertain and changing times we wanted confidence and peace of mind that we could just relax and unwind without any concerns and Fiona & Tim definitely have everything covered here an absolute pleasure from beginning to the end of our stay. Excellent warm welcome with the best tea and home made cake delicious! Our room was as always immaculate with every home comfort, breakfast was so good the best we’ve ever found on any of our travels with an amazing specials board and the best yorkshire produce. Attention to detail is exceptional and above and beyond expectations every visit! A big thank you Fiona and Tim for helping us make our anniversary celebrations such a perfect memory we will be back soon!

Perfect return visit

We booked Eighteen97 on the recommendation of friends who had stayed before and couldn't praise Fiona and Tim enough. We expected high standards based on this recommendation and we weren't disappointed on any level.
On arrival, a warm reception from the hosts was complemented by tea and delicious home made cakes.
We felt immediately secure and confident with the measures that had been taken to keep us safe in these difficult times. Nothing was too much trouble. 
The rooms were immaculate, furnished to the highest standards and equipped with everything we could possibly need.
An excellent nights sleep in the most comfortable of beds was followed by a delicious breakfast made with superior quality produce and cooked to perfection.
Thank you Fiona and Tim for a delightful experience, we couldn't have wished for anything better.

Well what can I say ? We booked this little gem after some extensive research into B&Bs in this area and our search is now over . The correspondence from Fiona and Tim before we arrived was both reassuring and friendly as was the greeting when we got there for our two night stay . All measures had been taken to provide guests with a safe and clean stay throughout, without being in any way intrusive or uncomfortable. Our room was Vivaldi and was perfect . Spotlessly clean and comfortable and I genuinely feel that this would also be the case regardless of the current Covid issues . Fiona and Tim are a friendly couple with an attention to detail which is second to none . It is these details which make Eighteen97 exceptional as well as its location. Fiona is an exceptional cook and the choices we had for our breakfasts were absolutely delicious with Tim providing us with local knowledge and plenty of laughs . 
If you are looking for somewhere to recharge that you know will be spotlessly clean and comfortable with friendly , warm hosts and a mouthwatering breakfast then Eighteen97 will give you all of this and more . So much so we booked again before we left and are looking forward to it already .

Just what we needed 😊

We have just returned from our second visit this year to the fabulous Eighteen 97. Never mind the fantastic rooms and the best breakfast you can get. What makes any place special are the people . Tim and Fiona are special people.

Eighteen97 in Goathland is our ultimate 'time out' break. We've just had our third visit in this hidden gem in Goathland. Our first visit was chosen after reading the amazing five star reviews from previous guests and here's another one! Lovely couple Fiona and Tim work very hard to ensure your stay is perfect: immaculate rooms, all individually and tastefully furnished, fantastic award winning breakfast choices are always to a high standard and nothing is too much trouble. Eighteen97 offers an ideal location to explore the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. Days out for us have included the impressive Mallyon Spout waterfall, Beckhole and Birch Hall Inn which is always worth a visit, Goathland village (previously of 'Heartbeat' fame) and not forgetting the famous NYM Railway. Goathland is ideally situated for exploring Robin Hood's 
Bay and Whitby on the 
coast. We've also had great days out in Pickering, Helmsley and
Malton all within short driving distance but if you're stuck for ideas Tim and Fiona have an extensive knowledge of the area which they are always willing to share.
This is why Eighteen97 is our favourite Five Star Staycation!
