We stayed for two nights at Ellenboro House in Orchard View, beautiful self contained accommodation, separate from the main house. So much thought has been put in to guests’ comfort; nothing is wanting. 
The breakfasts were delicious, making use of top quality local ingredients and cooked to perfection by Sam. 
We enjoyed Sam’s plum crumble cake, as we sat on the patio , admiring Ian’s marvellous dry stone walling . 
Sam and Ian are warm, hospitable and interesting hosts. 
We hope to return !

Didn’t want to leave !

Just returned home from a wonderful 2 night stay in Orchard View apartment at Ellenboro B&B. We received a lovely welcome from Sam and Ian along with fresh lemon drizzle cake to enjoy with our cuppa. The apartment is beautiful, the bed was super comfy. We enjoyed a home cooked breakfast each morning and Sam's blueberry pancakes are to die for. Thank you for a lovely stay, would highly recommend this lovely place.

Lovely, relaxing B&B

This place was a great find!  We wanted somewhere quiet and comfortable and this was it.  Hosts Sam and Ian were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our 3 nights there.  Set in a beautiful country garden which also provided fresh strawberries and other fruit for breakfast.  Sam makes her own jam which was really good,  WiFi was good and fast. Location was within an easy drive to numerous pubs, other eateries and places of interest.  Thanks Sam & Ian (and of course, Lennon) .  Would certainly recommend this place.

A very warm welcome from Sam and Ian. Room was very clean and comfortable with high quality bedding and towels with Tea and Coffee making facilities.  Excellent choice of breakfast, home cooked with local produce.  Thoroughly recommend.

A Enjoyable Experience

My family stayed here over the Easter break, my daughter and her husband stayed in the main house and we stayed in the Orchid view self contained apartment it was just fabulous. Set in a quiet location about 1 hours walk from Cartmel the apartment was very spacious, spotlessly clean, well laid out, extremely well decorated and the bed was super comfortable we had such a good nights sleep. Coffee, tea, milk, cookies, cake and Cava were left to greet us what a lovely touch. We decided to have breakfast each morning in the main house, great choice of items, freshly cooked and it certainly set us up for the day. Sam and Ian were perfect hosts, so welcoming and friendly nothing was ever to much for them, they made our stay so enjoyable, thank you.

Fabulous Orchid View

Just stayed in Orchard View self-contained accommodation for two nights, having stayed in the B&B in the main house on a couple of occasions before. Sam and Ian are very welcoming hosts; they have always make me feel extremely welcome and nothing is ever too much trouble. The accommodation is absolutely  first class. Orchard View in particular is amazing: spacious, clean and very well appointed. My stays have always been for business purposes, and it's been easy to carry on  working in the evenings with free wifi and plenty of space to set up my laptop. Although it's always a struggle not to be lured outside by the amazing views through the windows!  Ellenboro will now be my first choice for all future visits to the Lake District. A fabulous home from home.

An absolute gem

We've just spent 2 nights at Ellenboro House B & B, staying in the guest room in the house.

Our bedroom was very comfortable and Sam couldn't have been a better host. She was very friendly and welcoming and we had one of the best cooked breakfasts we've ever had staying at a guest house, as well as lovely homemade bread and cake !  She also gave us great advice on walks in the area and recommendations for places to eat in the evening.

It's a good base for the southern Lake District and Cartmel and easy to access from the A590. Highly recommended.



Homely B&B with friendly hosts

Fantastic stay in their newly built self catering accommodation, with rustic log burner, huge comfy bed, rain shower and a truck load of other great amenities and treats! Hosts couldn’t be more welcoming, we got a glass of wine on arrival, and we must have played our cards right as we got one every day! They’ve truly created something special here - a real home from home, beautiful surroundings and fantastic lodgings! We won’t hesitate to be booking again next year!

Won’t find a better B&B in the area!

Sam and Ian were such warm, welcoming hosts!! We stayed for 3 nights and it was a perfect base for our lake adventures. We had a wonderful, tasty cooked breakfast every morning (including vegan pancakes which were delicious) and freshly baked sourdough bread. Sam bakes cakes and bread and there is some delicious shortbread in the room to! We were always welcomed ‘home’ with a glass of wine and Sam always gave us great tips at breakfast to help with our plans for the day! 
We come from the south coast and it was lovely to be woken up to the sound of sheep baa’s and have a break from the seagulls! The room was extremely comfortable and we didn’t want for anything! Thank you so much, we will be back!

Peaceful, relaxing and well looked after

We loved this gorgeous place so much we are booking again for September. Sam and Ian are a lovely friendly couple who went out of their way to make we sure we had an enjoyable stay aswell as giving us our privacy. The house is beautiful and Sam was very helpful with her recommendations for local restaurants and walks. The room is very warm and cosy plus there is a snug for you to relax. Sam makes her own bread, cakes and jam which were delicious. Definitely wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
