Somehow our Free Cancellation reservation with Booking.com got entered by the hotel's outside reservation portal to a prepaid.  We cancelled the reservation with Booking.com, then discovered the alternate reservation.  Mandy who works with the hotel spent several hours helping us work through this problem.  She stayed on the issue until it was resolved and we received our credit on the Visa Card.  We hope when this virus scare abates we can make our trip to Scotland and I can thank Mandy in person.

Excellent Customer Service

The staff are great in this hotel friendly welcome and gladly go back again. Great sized rooms and dog friendly. We were put next to the fire escape which was perfect for letting the dog out. Great breakfast in the morning

Weekend away

Had two nights here ,easy to find hotel is on the main road ,easy parking at rear ,hotel staff very friendly ,food is excellellent ,given room on ground floor as required small room but comfortable ,hot chocolate sachets were among to tea and coffee  tray ,excellent power of shower ,nice cosy lounge

For our 50th wedding anniversary gift

Just spent a weekend here with friends  on a voucher which included dinner and breakfast. We were a bit dubious about what to expect as it was a rather inexpensive deal but couldn't fault it! The staff were super friendly and the food was really very good - so good we went back on the Saturday night to eat there again. Breakfast was lovely too - great cooked breakfast and a nice choice of fresh fruit, pastries etc. Room was a bit snug but beautifully clean and plenty of hot water. What more do you need? Outstanding value, great location but the staff made it! I'll be back!!

Fabulous friendly staff and amazing value

The staff here are what make The Garth stand out. Without exception everyone was friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. 
When you pull up in the car park, it doesn't give a good first impression and the building needs some TLC, but the rooms are comfortable and warm, the shower is clean and powerful, the lounge has a cosy log fire, and best of all the restaurant is really very good indeed.
We had dinner included on our first night and it was so good that after checking out alternative places to eat in town, we chose to come back for our 2nd night. With 4 of us eating over 2 nights we sampled most of the main courses on offer from steak to sea bass and the veggie options too, and every dish was delicious and well presented. 
After dinner, the bar is well stocked with Malt Whisky, and with a roaring fire there's no better way to spend a winter's evening. 
Thanks to everyone at The Garth for making our stay feel really special.

The Staff and Food Make The Garth Well Worth a Visit

I had a wonderful stay at your hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Amazing food. Great location to visit Aviemore, Landmark and the Cairngorms.  I will definitely be coming back. The dog loved her stay as well, lots of lovely walks.

Stayed with family and friends at The Garth Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey during a fabulously cold and crisp weekend on 30 November 2019. The hotel was a wonderful base for our group of four adults and four children.  We snuggled up in the cosy, intimate lounge with a roaring coal fire, ate delicious meals each evening and started our days with a very tasty breakfast.  General Manager, Susie Farley and her staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble or bother for them in looking after us.  As well as being a really lovely small town, Grantown-on-Spey is a wonderful base to explore the region.  We had a fun filled few hours at the Landmark Forest Adventure Park where adults and children alike were well entertained.  Their dinosaur park is amazing!  Due to the season however, not all activities were open.  A good reason for us all to go back another time. A hearty walk round Loch an Eillean on the stillest, crispest day where the loch was like glass, made our hearty evening meal all the more welcome.  Happy to have shared this experience with great friends.

Highland Fling of Fun and Forests

We spent a long weekend with kids and different age group of family . The staff were great with the children and looked after us so well . Food was awesome . The bacon at breakfast is a must ! This hotel is in a great position with easy access to all the local facilities . The rooms were clean and cosy and cleaned every day . Highly recommend this hotel .

Fantastic little gem

Just back from this lovely old hotel.. 17th century... had a amazing time staying here with my hubby & gsd memphis... the staff went out there way to set up table in bar for our b/f & dinner , so that our fur baby could be with us... our room was perfect & spotless & the staff made our stay memorable, not to forget value for money... would defo recommend 👌

Worth a visit

Abusiness trip plus a family get-together resulted in a one night stay, dinner and breakfast. Food, service.ambience and bedroom ( with a four-poster ) were all very good. Visitors with well-behaved dogs were welcomed in the bar which had an excellent range of drinks.
