Quaint old farm house, low exposed beams as you might expect. Room was good with comfortable bed and ensuite shower room. WiFi was good. Didn't have breakfast as left very early in morning so got a reduced rate. Perfectly met my needs.  Good secluded car parking space. Local pub Somerset Arms for evening meal was satisfactory.

We found this guesthouse by chance when looking for somewhere to stay near Monmouth town, and what a find. For anyone wishing to spend a weekend or longer in  an accommodation packed with history then this is the place to be.  The heavy dark beams and enormous stone fireplaces hinted at the age of the property, but  we were thrilled to know that we were staying in a  farmhouse dating back to 1530.  
Our hosts, Rosie and Derek gave us a lovely welcome and made our stay everything we could have wished for.  Rosie's full English breakfast was wonderful and there was also an excellent choice of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, fruit juice and a lovely large pot of tea.  We were asked if there was anything in particular that we would like for breakfast and the orange marmalade was there as requested in the morning along with the seeded toasted bread. During our stay, we took our host's kind offer of using the quiet sitting room to read and found this a relaxing room to spend the evening, once again in the company of the building’s history not to mention the many books available to us. 
The lovely village of Mitchel Troy with its historic St. Michael and All Angels church, is just two miles out and the country road quickly leads down and comes right out at the edge of the town of Monmouth. However, the pavement along the road is very narrow in parts and may be unsuitable for walking with young children.
Having read some of the reviews here on this site I feel some of the negative comments regarding the stairs and rooms have been unfairly given. This, after all, is an historic farmhouse and as with any historic building dating back to the 1500s, stairways are going to be steep and upper rooms are going to have low ceilings.  For us, this was quintessentially the most perfect and charming place to stay and wished we could have had more time there.

A Wonderful Stay in an Historic Gem

A traditional farmhouse b&b very close to the town. A great base from which to explore the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.  Very good breakfast. Really comfortable bed. Could have done with a second chair. Velux window really needs a blind. Point of note is that it is an old building and the stairs are quite steep in the main house.

The owners of the house we're incredibly friendly and helpful! They have even offeres me a Double room to stay in instead of a Single one : )
Also,the Breakfast was really good - freshly prepared : )

Needed a place to stay while in the area for a wedding.  Stayed two nights and found the owners really nice and very accommodating when another large booking came in at short notice.

Nice house, tasty breakfast, ample parking and good rates.

Me and my family stayed here while visiting friends, and exploring the local area. Friendly welcome and showing of our room, which was spacious and had everything we needed. Ideal location to visit Monmouth and surrounding areas.

Good parking, old building. Not very welcoming, room dark with notices about saying what was not permitted. 
No information offered on arrival where to find the dining room and a bit of a search in the morning.
Breakfast limited but OK.
Would not use again.

If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, Church Farm definitely fits the bill. It's a delightful and secluded guest house, about 2 miles from Monmouth, plenty of parking and comfortable rooms. Although I had booked a single room online for my recent stay of 5 nights, I was actually given a twin room, but I was the only guest here for this week. It was a nice, cosy room, suited me very well for my stay and made a good base for exploring the Wye Valley. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here one night. The guest house is tired and old. The host was not particularly warm and welcoming and he hardly knew who we were on arriving after our booking. Living room we were show was dark and felt damp and. Definitely not somewhere you you would want to relax in. Two flights of stairs to attic room which was our room with the smallest shower they could fit in. No hair shampoo or any nice toiletries. Towels old 

 Breakfast  was nice and the hostess was very pleasant and chatty. I find the host himself quite  over it all. Guest house  looks nice on outside but definitely will not be back  .overpriced
