We easily found the Coach and Horses, parking and check-in were very straightforward. The location is a very pleasant village with a rural feel, but it is in very easy reach of main roads and Severn Crossings. We could see the tops of one of the bridges from our room, as well as rolling hills and fields. The room was very clean, plenty of hot water for the shower, and a good size TV. The bar was quite busy but you couldn't hear it all at all in the room. They also serve excellent local beers. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We cannot comment on the evening meal as they weren't serving in the night we arrived.

Excellent B&B, ideal for a night or two.

Popped in for lunch. We both had the chicken curry, Tikka and Madras. Both very tasty. We had chips and rice with it and a poppadom. Very efficient polite service. Hot food. Also had a lager each. Good choice of drinks on tap. Very enjoyable experience. Would recommend.

Excellent place for a cosy lunch.

My family and I were very disappointed with our visit on Sunday 18/6/23 which was Father's day and also my father's birthday.  I booked a table but when we arrived we were seated in a room that was overcrowded, noisy and the sound echoed.  I explained that the noise levels were so loud that my father couldn't hear anything, as he is very hard of hearing, and requested a table in the bar area near the back door, which was full of empty tables - just one table was in use.  I asked the gentleman behind the bar if we could move there and explained the reason for my request, but he said he needed to keep the area free for people who wanted to sit there after finishing their meals.  However, at no time during our visit was there any more than one table in use in that area.  Whilst I appreciate he felt the need to do this, I felt that he could have made an exception in the circumstances.  And, when I asked what he suggested as my father couldn't hear anything in the noisy restaurant area, he said he was sorry there was nothing he could do, which I found very unhelpful.  I actually managed to find a table in a different, adjacent area and, when it was vacated, asked if we could sit there as it  was quieter.  But, I don't think it should have been left to me to find a solution.  I thought that we could, at last, relax and order our food but when I asked for details of the menu items which were both gluten free and vegetarian, the server came back with a small piece of cardboard containing a list of ingredients, and said that it was for a vegetable sponge, which was my only option, as I should have mentioned my dietary requirements when I booked.  But, I DID discuss this when I rang to make the booking, and I was assured that there would be no problem.  By the time we actually ordered, I felt absolutely fed up and exhausted with having to sort things out and wished we had gone elsewhere.  When the food came it was just mediocre, so absolutely nothing positive to say about the entire experience.  And, I'd driven all the way from Cardiff for that negative experience!!

Very disappointing experience

Three of us were on a cycling trip and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. A quick booking in system and secure storage for our bikes was sorted. We had a pint of excellent Wye Valley beer in the lovely beer garden. We had a meal in the restaurant and all three meals were outstanding as was the service. We had a very good breakfast the following morning after a relaxing good night's sleep. A great location for walking and cycling breaks.

Food terrible small is not the right word...go off the meal deals 11.95 for small chicken breast and jacket spud Clearly prices are high to pay for new extention. Only good thing wad food was hot but we all came away hungrey..Barmaid with long blonde hair so rude and face like chewing on a bee

Came away hungry

Stayed for just one night and enjoyed the stay.  Our rooms were more than adequate, well furnished and equipped.  Breakfast was freshly cooked, with a good choice.  The staff were very friendly and helpful, trying to do a good job despite sticking to all the Covid regulations.

Love the coach and horses. Great for families in the summer with outside play area. Visited over Christmas for the 1st time and kids loved the skating rink. Very well priced and well ran. We had dinner afterwards which was lovely. Great selection of drinks, especially stowford press!

Had lunch here many times very pleased with meal and service a very welcoming place always make you welcome 
Also there is a huge place outside for children to play lots of things to use there for them to play on

The usual style beefeater restaurant. Plenty of parking. Clean restaurant. We had a pram & it took the waitress a while to seat us due to health & safety. The restaurant was practically empty & a number of tables would have easily seated us without the pram blocking access, but it took longer than it needed. Common sense us not common. Despite the start we all enjoyed our food. The children were happy with their meals & colourings given. Reasonably priced too. 

Kids day out

Went to this pub with our 2 young children for a drink and some desserts. Will never go back. 

Ordered apple crumble and custard, and honeycomb sundae. Waited ten minutes for the waitress to come out and say all apple crumble gone. So why has it not been taken off chalk board menu? 

Asked for another sundae instead, even though my husband dislikes ice cream. When they eventually came I was shocked. Absolutely minuscule portion - about 2 spoons of ice cream, with some whipped cream on top. And that was it. It was £4.25!!!!!!! 

Absolutely outraged. Never again and will spread the word to avoid this place.
