We stayed here for 3 nights while attending an exhibition at the conference centre.  The room was clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated with plenty of cupboard and drawer space. The bathroom was modern with a lovely big shower.  Breakfast wasn’t included but there was a small dining area with a selection of cereals and fruits, tea, coffee and fruit juice which you could help yourself to. Paul the host was very friendly and welcoming. The guest house is a short walk to the conference centre and the town. I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend this beautiful place.

A perfect guest house!

Nothing really to complain about, bathroom is a cupboard essentially. The bed was comfortable, lots of pillows. Tea and coffee provided and wardrobe contained iron, ironing board etc etc. Good value for money. Only let down was arrival, had to ring someone on the door to let me in. Again that's minor. I would recommend. 

Kind of left to your own devices, not that that's a bad thing.

What a brilliant little find . Stayed 1 night while at a show in Harrogate.  Great warm clean comfy room . Great kitchen facilities to help yourself to breakfast . Owner bery friendly even moved his car so i could park as no space on road. Would definitely stay here again . Great value for momey

Brilliant 

Stayed at Acomb Lodge for a couple of nights away. 
Great little place. 
Room (2) was spacious and very clean. Free wifi. 
Off road parking on drive provided. 
Host Paul, very friendly and helpful. 
Location of accommodation was great. We decided to go to Knaresbrough for the day, and Paul suggested train… 9 minutes and £7.80 return for the 2 of us.. lovely place. 
Would definitely recommend for couples getaway.

Lovely weekend getaway

Just returned from a weekend at the Acomb Lodge Harrogate what can I say perfect in everyway location is minutes from town centre with free parking for guests  the accommodation is fabulous beds are so comfortable it has everything you need rooms are decorated beautifully we normally stay at the Crowne Plaza but not anymore Acomb Lodge will definately be our first choice every time Special thanks to Paul and his wife for making our stay so lovely can't wait to come back

Hidden Gem

Outstanding in every way: Excellent location, perfect room, spotlessly clean and a very warm and friendly welcome with great advice on the local area on arrival.

More enjoyable than the best hotel and a fraction of the price.

Best in Harrogate and probably the best in Yorkshire

Was booked in to stay here in January 2021, cancelled due to covid so agreed with Paul on the phone to keep my room booked for 2022 and paid a deposit of £45. 

January BTME 2022 was cancelled again, and as room price was up by £100 extra on 2021 price I confirmed I would not be attending with this room cost increase. 

Still waiting on my £45 being returned to me, seems to be excuse after excuse and the money never appears back to me, althoughPaul has agreed the refund and continues to say it will be retuned! 

Poor show and would advise against using this place!

BTME and Covid

Our bedroom was at the very top of the building and the stairs proved difficult for myself with problem knees. 

The room itself left a lot to be desired. The usual tea and coffee was on hand but no biscuits or any other home comforts. I has to  set up the very small TV which was no problem but why/

The shower left a lot to be desired and the water pressure was terrible. The towels had seen better days. 

The beds where OK but the room was cramped and  the noise in the morning from the road and surrounding buildings around 6.30 was excessive.

Don't be fooled by the on line pictures of some of the rooms. Our room left a lot to be desired.

AS the Acomb was self regulated the 3 star award could not be verified by any external agency. I would suggest that the on line reviews are questionable.



Very poor

We stayed two nights in July.  It was bed only as no breakfast was offered due to coronavirus.  Accommodation was basic but clean with tea/coffee making facilities in the room.   No wifi was offered.  There was a small tv with freeview channels.  The layout was uncomfortable in that the sink was in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, and there was a builders yard across the road which roused us early in the mornings.  The owner was very friendly and helpful with the suitcases and it had a great central location.  Having said this, the room did not feel comfortable.  The sink light and one bedside table lamp did not work, so the room felt dark as the blind had to be kept down on the window during the day partly due to the sun and for day/night privacy.

Clean and Convenient

Lovely place, nice room, excellent and friendly host. 

The breakfasts were spot-on (Paul did his admirable best to do me a cooked breakfast, despite the lack of food in the shops due to panic-buying at the height of the Corona Virus outbreak) and he also bumped me up from a single to a double room as I was the only guest in at the time, which I appreciated.

I was supposed to stay for seven nights, but left after three, mainly due to Boris Johnson shutting down the entire country (and the travel networks following suit) and my family's worry about me being able to get home - so I only had half a holiday.
But, because he made me so welcome, and looked after me so well (nothing was too much trouble) I enjoyed the stay so much, I paid for the full seven days and asked that he booked me in again the following March so that I could come back and enjoy the second half of my holiday.

I look forward to returning!! :)
