We had a great time at Black Rock House, where we were invited by two of our best friends. Everything was perfect and beyond our expectations. This beautiful house is in a lovely and very quiet and safe street. Vincent welcomed us with kindness and warmth and was very helpful in assisting us to organise our WE in Hastings and its surrounding (what to visit, where to eat well or get snacks, where to park…). One of our rooms had a view on the garden and the other one towards the sea. The bedrooms had everything you need: a stylish décor but not ostentatious, elegant and very practical bathrooms, all the appliance you can wish for, comfy bed, black out curtains, big windows with lots of natural light, lots of storage space… 
The entire house is spotless and very welcoming with a very nice dining room and living room which make you feel at home. Vincent prepared a delicious breakfast which was very copious and more like a brunch with very good fresh products. We needed some time to relax with friends and this was the ideal setting for us. I would not have changed a thing and it was a real treat to be invited by our friends in this little East Sussex gem.


A little East Sussex gem

What a fantastic Boutique Hotel, run by the very charming and interesting Vincent - aided (sort of) by the absolutely beautiful Clovis. The hotel is charming, full of character, with fantastic bedrooms and a great location. The breakfasts on offer are second to none, and for Vincent nothing is a problem. Parking is super easy, which is a real bonus in Hastings.
All in all, if you’re looking to stay in this charming East Sussex town, I doubt you’ll find a better place to stay than the Black Rock House Hotel

The perfect place to stay in Hastings.

A big thank you to Vincent for a lovely 2 night stay.
We were warmly welcomed and checked in and having left our luggage in our room we sat on the small terrace at the front of this beautiful house with welcome drinks and nibbles.
The room, ensuite, breakfast room and lounge were all immaculately clean and well maintained. 
The bed and bedding were lovely and the walk in shower great. A bit strange there was no door on the ensuite but I can see why it wouldn't be possible and there was a wc just across the hall.
Breakfast was served in the dining room at a large table, family style. We met some lovely people and everyone chatted. The food offering is a little different here, no fry up, but a delicious smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with some tasty additions. Cereals, toast, pastries and a wonderful selection of very good jams, yoghurts and fresh fruits. Tea and coffee were readily available.
I very much enjoyed the stay, and the conversations with Vincent, thank you.

Deliciously different and fabulous.

Really enjoyed our stay at Black Rock Hotel whilst visiting brother in Hastings. Very warm welcome on arrival  from the host Vincent, which carried on during our stay. Our room was very clean & spacious with a beautiful big shower room.  Such a quiet peaceful place to relax in and the bed was sooo comfy!!  Breakfast is a 'home from home' experience too with a big family table to eat and chat around...and enjoy Vincent's array of good food! 
Great location for walking down to beach front, plenty cafe's, restaurants and entertainment, plus an easy train ride into Brighton for the more adventurous! 
Will definitely return next time in Hastings! 


Little Gem in the Black Rock Hotel

We spent a week at this lovely B and B - Vincent is the perfect host - just happy to make everyone feel welcome.  The house is really interesting with so much memorabilia to see.   Spotlessly clean in every room  and very comfortable bed with great en-suite.  Breakfast is a wonderful start to the day with a great variety of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, and a choice of Vincent’s excellent eggs.  Parking is not a problem after 400pm until the next morning.  Very convenient to Hastings town and Vincent has great recommendations for restaurants and day trips. Thanks for lovely relaxing week.

Great weeks stay

Had a fabulous 3 night stay with the lovely Vincent in this gorgeous guesthouse.  The welcome was great, as was the breakfast and Vincent definitely spoiled us.   

Great location, only a 10 min walk to the sea front (albeit down a very steep hill).  We took many taxis into town because of the weather and its only £5 each way.

Exceptional

A great Victorian house, tasteful and contemporary, but with all the comforts you need! Vincent as a very nice, attentive and helpful host perfectly rounded everything up. You are not welcomed as a guest, but as a friend. The location in Hastings is very beautiful and quiet. Our room (Garden View) has a very beautiful view over the neighborhood's gardens. Breakfast in the old reception area of the villa is a highlight. For all those looking for small, personal and comfortable accommodation, a top tip! Thank you for the wonderful 4 days! It's perfect for feeling good.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful  hotel . Vincent is a  wonderful host with a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas . The breakfast was really lovely and the scrambled egg is to die for . The rooms are very comfortable with high quality bed linen and pillows . We can’t wait to return for another visit .

An amazing find

We stayed at Black Rock for 3 nights and wished we had stayed for longer. Our stay was made so comfortable by Vincent. He is just the nicest genuine man who has thought of everything from Egyptian cotton bedding to the best scrambled eggs ever. Breakfast was so delicious and so much of it!! The house is stunning. Its clean and welcoming and full of warmth. Definitely going to stay here again. Thank you so much Vincent

So relaxing and memorable 

Just came home from 4 days at Black Rock House. The owner(Vincent) is a world class host, a true English/Belgian gentleman with a great humor that want his guests to have the best treat. A rare and fantastic surprise. Don't miss this place if going to Sussex, it's a must like Sissinghurst and Parham.
