So impressed with The White Hart. Wonderful atmosphere and decor. Lovely atmosphere. Super clean and comfortable bedrooms. Excellent food, great chef, and, for anyone into it. Lots of paranormal activity. 

A Spooktacular experience 

Stayed for 3 nights in August 2023. Within a 3 minute walk of the train station so can get about to explore wider Cornwall with ease. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, rooms were a decent size although the shower was somewhat temperamental in terms of heat and power of the water. Very good atmosphere in the place and the breakfast was good every morning; opted to explore the area for our other meals. Parking can also be a slight problem as there aren’t many spaces but plenty of streets nearby.

Excellent service from Emily. Food is outstanding  steak was perfcet and home made curry was amazing would recommend  to visit and thanks for being dog friendly  Andrea Gary .

Outstanding service and food

We had previously called in here for coffee and read some Tripadvisor reviews so knew what to expect. This is no Premier Inn or Travelodge, but an independent hotel with character, which we loved.

The location - near the centre of Hayle, 5 minutes from the railway station, and the main bus stops are nearby. There are several cafes and pasty shops nearby.

The hotel and decor - full of character, (though some might find it cluttered).

The staff - excellent. Reception staff agreed to look after our bags on arrival morning so we could go off to explore, but the room was ready for us as a bonus. The bar staff I found friendly and helpful, and the ladies serving breakfast were cheerful as were  the housekeeping staff we met.

The food - very good. The breakfast comprised cereal, fruit juice and traditional cooked breakfast, which was plentiful and well cooked. We did not eat evening meals here during our 4 night stay, but the menu although limited did include several options I did fancy.

The bar - very much a locals bar busy at the weekend, but none the worse for that. On Friday evening was karaoke which was fun. Sunday afternoon there were two guys on guitar playing cover versions which was enjoyable. Note that it was also possible to sit in the conservatory area, or outside for a quieter drink.

During our stay we used the nearby station to make day trips to Penzance and St Ives, and also walked out to Hayle beach and sand dunes. There is also a lot of archaeological history to be explored all around Hayle.  I recommend it.

Brilliant 4 night stay.

We stayed here for 1 night while doing the southwest coast path. We found it to be quirky with all the pictures and objects all over but in a nice way. It is a little dated but we had a comfortable nights sleep, a hot shower and a fantastic Sunday lunch served by a lovely pleasant young lady with long blonde hair( didn’t get her name). Breakfast was good and plentiful again great service from a lovely , friendly lady. There was a band playing while having our meal which we enjoyed, what’s not to like 😁

1 night stay while doing the southwest coast path

Lovely approach and super antiques inside but that is where it ends.  Sister and I walked in to a uncomfortable atmosphere feeling like we were from Mars.  The rooms were in poor shape with dirty bed covers, ripped net curtains and filthy seal to a unnecessary fridge.  I found a bit of a coffee wrapper near the door on an alarming amount of dust, presumably the door is open when the hovering is done.  The Wifi seemed to be turned off once the pub was closed. I must congratulate the breakfast and waitress but was horrified to see the only fire exit blocked by a huge cupboard, and the fire extinguisher with chairs in front.

Very overpriced

My husband son  and I decided to try this pub on a Wednesday as we noticed that they was hosting  a quiz night, and the entertainment at nearby Tolroy Manor where we was staying was geared towards children. We was made to feel welcome from the moment we entered.  It's very much a locals pub as everyone seemed to know each other but we was made to feel like a local by the end of the night. Tony the quiz master is a great host ,there was no charge for the quiz and everyone taking part recieved a prize regardless of your score.
Friday night is karaoke night and again we was made welcome by Tony and the locals.
We had a meal in the restaurant on our last day and my husband who has Celiac disease was well catered for with chef coming out of the kitchen to personally chat with him about his Celiac and reassuring him as to what was available on the menu. 
Excellent value for money as well and massive portion. We will definitely visit again when next in that area.

Great welcome good food

My wife and I and teenage daughter stayed here for 2 nights in August.
We ate in the modern airy conservatory on Saturday night and had breakfast there too, the food was really good and was excellent value. 
Our room in the stable block was clean and had an excellent shower.
The bar area was full of locals on Saturday night and although friendly was slightly intimidating. I loved the old feel about the main hotel building but I could understand why others might not.
All in all a great find and a place we’d return too.

Great food & clean comfy room in stable block

Stayed in the stable block, room was large, comfy and clean apart from a slightly mouldy shower. Wifi barely existent - one bar at best. Needs a booster. The hotel bar felt like a locals’ haunt (blokes over 50, swirly carpet, trivia night etc) not a place for  visitors. Breakfast was fine without being very exciting. Not many smiles. 

We’d been walking the SW Coast path and after several days of lovely seaside villages, Hayle overall just felt a bit… sad. Sorry Hayle.

Decent room in dated hotel - poor wifi

Stayed for one night on out vidit to Cornwall.The decor was not great but this is an old building,that aside,our room was clean and tidy as was the en suite.Fluffy white towels and individual smelliest for us both.A comfortable bed,there was live music in the bar but it didn't disturb us too much.A big well done for the ample tea,coffee and sugars we were given,it was great to be able to have plenty for our use and the little milks we're kept in a mini fridge also in the room.Breakfast was included in the price and was lovely with all you would want from a continental brekky,cooked food came out lovely and hot. All in all a comfortable,enjoyable stay
