Absolutely amazing, booked as went to Goodwood Revival and I wish I could give 100/10 couldn't have asked for anything better, Linda and Clive were absolutely superb hosts from the moment we walked in until leaving. Both a lovely couple and made us feel so welcome, and an amazing breakfast in the morning! Everything you could ever want and need. Will absolutely be booking again!

I am 75 and everything at Waratah is just perfect - the location the owners the hospitality the price the bedroom the breakfast room and the wow English breakfast the feeling of love and warmth - such a lovely experience - 12 out of 10  - would thoroughly recommend

Just perfect - 12 out of 10

A classic that should be valued! Linda and Clive are the most attentive and genuinely caring hosts. From moment we called for directions, upon arrival, throughout of two night stay they couldn't have been more gracious! I'm slightly convinced the room was actually decorated just for us! The modern twist, chic, cute well thought out style was just perfect. We adored the idea of taking our shoes off at the door as it was part of the "at home" feel. We were welcomed as if long lost family and their care and attention was beyond expected. 
The beds are beautifully comfortable and whilst we stayed in the twin room I could swear those are larger than single beds. The pillows were so comfortable and ample towels were ready in such a homely bathroom. So much care and attention has been given to the features that made the room a home from home. 
Now, the breakfast! My. WORD! If you are particular about your eggs (and I didn't think I was) then you must allow Linda to treat you to her fabulous plate. The portion size is huge and the bacon is so thick cut! And by gosh does the lady make a bloody good, proper cuppa!!!! 
We were genuinely made to feel like family and on this beautiful island the Waratah Lodge is now officially our home from home. Thank you both for your warm hospitality and your classic, traditional island home. Exactly what we wanted and needed. You both my our break exactly as it should have been. 

Original, classic.... home!!

Joy and I stayed one night. The house is all you could want and would recommend it to anybody staying on Hayling Island. We had a warm welcome, shown to our lovely clean and well prepared bedroom.  You get a coice of 3 breakfasts at a time to suit you. Top notch, high quality food and drinks are provided here. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great stay !

We booked two rooms at Waratah Lodge and were welcomed warmly. We arrived early so were offered tea whilst we waited for our rooms to be ready. Yes, there are no  tea and coffee facilities  in the rooms, but you are encouraged to use the kitchen to make hot drinks.  Lovely clean white bed linen and towels, good freshly cooked breakfast and hospitality.  This is not a hotel, it's a family B&B in the best tradition. Beautiful garden and off street parking. Would highly recommend.

Warm and weloming

This really is a gem of a find on the island. Very hospitable hosts, lovely clean rooms, good selection for breakfast, and an exquisite garden to relax in - this is a must! We look forward to returning very soon. Thank you ever so much Linda and Clive

A gem of a find - we will be returning!

Stayed here for one night.(we booked for two)
On arrival were told ‘we have a no shoe policy in the house’ and were asked to chose our breakfast option before we were even shown our room!
Our room was a myriad of pink and purple fluff with a pink homemade canopy over the bed.
The bed head was covered in the same carpet as on the floor. Every surface was covered with detritus with no room for any of our luggage.
The bathroom had no hand towels and the toiletries were budget brands from supermarkets.
Worst of all was the shower hose attachment had been removed (due to health and safety) we were told! We would have preferred a shower. 
There were little notes around the rooms with do’s and don’ts and if you chose to have a 3rd pillow you have to pay an extra £2.50 for it (what’s that about)
Breakfast was limited although what we had we enjoyed. We would never stay again we couldn’t cope with all the random stuff especially the imitation flower arrangements throughout the house.
Ridiculously overpriced at £220 a night and it claims to be a four star hotel with luxury accommodation 
I think not!! I do not recommend!

Too much stuff

How did this bed and breakfast  become a 4stal hotel, not in a million years!!! Shoes of at the door not tea and coffee in your room! Very fussy decor in a time warp, friendly owners, and clean but never a 4 star

Awful

I don't even know where to begin, we booked this B&B for a family wedding being held on the island for 2 nights. On arrival greeted by Clive, asked to remove shoes at the door and asked straight away if we would like a drink which was nice, showed into kitchen/diner open plan, given choice of breakfast and given house rules, we felt as if we were children in a boarding school, there are signs in the room to remind us how to behave, no tea/coffee in rooms as he's fed up of cleaning carpets although carpets are cream in bedroom and bathroom and already heavily stained!, no eating in rooms, no noise if late home, we can make drinks ourselves downstairs but have to drink them down there, I mean I've never heard anything like it in my life, my partner has allergies so asked if bacon was smoked to a reply of "yes it is so no bacon for you then", we met his wife Linda at breakfast, she was cooking and talking to us as she was making it, not ideal, no privacy at all, breakfast was vile, all microwaved, beans, tinned Tom's, scrambled egg. On 2nd morning we sat with another mother/daughter for breakfast who complained about breakfast and to be honest Linda was not happy about it all, she was annoyed at the inconvience although she was at fault completely, it was hard to say anything incase you upset them, I thought we were paying customers, it felt as though they were doing us a favour letting us stay there not us giving them an income, if you like fussy, cluttered decor stuck in the 70's and boarding house rules then it's for you but sadly as nice as the hosts appear don't be fooled if you can't play by their rules you'll certainly know about it, needless to say we won't be visiting again.

What an experience.... Never Again!!

On arrival good greeting nice cup of tea. Lovely room good nights sleep. Great breakfast. Lovely lady. Would recommend. Only thing I drove past it twice as it’s just before the bend I had missed it. And before I saw b & b sign it was too late. Am I the only one to miss it? Steve
