Great find. Attentive host, Phil, and friendly staff, we were made to feel welcome. Good menu choice and very reasonable prices. Between the four of us we all had a different meals and sweet and all were excellent. Will definitely call in again when in the area.

Lovely atmosphere. Great food

This hotel is closed down permanently as far as I can tell from locals and the papers it could be turned into apartments  this would be a great loss to the area. I have fond memories of the kilcreggan hotel when I lived in Rosneath back in the seventies and eighties so it will be a great loss to the holiday makers and locals. I was looking forward to visiting there only to find it had closed.

Kilcreggan hotel terrible news

I've just heard that this wonderful hotel is closing permanently. My family and I have had some memorable days when visiting. The staff have been so friendly and welcoming. A truly wonderful hotel. Thank you for everything and good luck to every member of staff in the future.

Sad news

Stayed for 1 night. The room was clean and warm was a little taken back by carpet in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely dinner with a great view of the Loch.
The room came with breakfast and the variety was varied 

Old charm

Reservation made for 2 nights, for 6 people. When we arrive, the person at the reception gives us the keys, says there's this way, without accompanying us to the rooms. Family room for 4, at first glance: nice room, spacious, nice height under glass ceiling, windows to windows... then we unwind: - all the windows are damaged, even the SDB one! The mechanism is stuck by a thick layer of paint. There is of course neither climb nor VMC, suddenly no decomposition, and it must be soiled everywhere... see photos: the windows are dirty and soiled, one window is soiled. - Let's all go down to the windows, so we don't worry about it, because it's not impossible to make ourselves responsible for the same room. - 2 people are in the same room, and we can't wait until we get to the same room.

It's unfortunate.

We visited on an Itison deal with our dogs.   The staff were very friendly and made a fuss of our dogs constantly.  The room was spacious and had fantastic views up and down the Loch.   The breakfast was very nice and cooked fresh to order, they were more than happy to make up a breakfast for my wife cooked exactly to her requirements.  The only suggestion I would make to the hotel is to expand the continental buffet selection. We paid for and extra night we enjoyed it so much.   We'll definitely be back!! 

Very nice hotel 

Booked through an Itison deal as a last minute getaway , well worth the visit. Located on the Roseneath peninsula just outside Helensburgh just over an hour from Glasgow , the views from hotel are stunning. A large country mansion facing the sea, renovated bar and restaurant area, but overall work in progress with quite old fashioned decor, but clear to see the original grandeur. We were lucky and allocated room 2 which was very large and had stunning views over the gardens to the sea beyond., However My brother and sister in law who was travelling with us was allocated room 6 which very an extremely small attic bedroom. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and a central lounge area with a real open fire was lovely to sit at , whilst enjoying a few drinks. The menu for evening meals  are resonabily priced around £9 for a main course, breakfast was pretty basic with limited continental choice, and a little chaotic with lack of  cereal bowls and lack of glasses for the fruit juice, however the full cooked breakfast was plentiful. Local village has a friendly pub with great music choices and open fire. Overall we all enjoyed our stay and would return 

Stunning location

The location, although outside the usual tourist routes, is not at all difficult to reach. Cordiality, service and price are very good. The restaurant is also great. Really a Scottish place!! Very quiet, despite the musicians on site!!! Girl: In the evening, after dinner, five villagers arrived with instruments and more to play country / rock for two and a half hours, drinking beer and singing like boys. They use the place as a local for both musical and oenological rehearsals!! they gave us an unforgettable evening!! Bravissimi!

It's a great hotel.

This hotel and its restaurant are well worth a visit to a wonderfully charming place in Scotland. I highly recommend it. The bosses are charming and the restaurant is very nice. The food is excellent, in short, we had a moment that we will not forget.
