The hostel was well kept and clean. The staff were extremly friendly and accomodating. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hostel is located in a very scenic area. I hope to visit again another time!

A well kept and clean hostel

Stayed with part of a sports club and we were very well looked after. Staff very helpful and hostel had everything we needed plus more with a well fitted kitchen, washing and drying room for all our kit, added games in the main hall to keep us busy and they converted a dorm to a lounge for us with sofas and a extra fridge.

Great stay for our group

We stayed at this hostel as part of a rowing club for our training camp where we trained on Loch Lomond (only 25min drive away). The facilities were perfect. Very good sized kitchen, clean and comfy bedrooms and lots of communal space. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this to anyone want to visit.

Amazing facilities, would recommend!

The hostel is located in garelochhead, a relatively small village. A small walk away from the pub and a couple of take aways (The Takeaways deliver the 200m distance to the hostel!!!!!). Ideal.

The hostel itself was perfect, the 6 man room we stayed in was incredibly clean and the beds where very comfortable!!
The kitchen was on hand at all times of the day, with free tea & coffee making supplies aswell as a stove and fridges if you needed it for a long stay.

The staff where great, they couldn't do enough for us. 
For example my booking had went up to do a 55k challenge. On the day we got back for this someone else was due to arrive late in our room. To ensure we weren't disturbed as we where exhausted they placed this extra person in another room!

Great little hostel tucked away with amazing views! 

My husband was horrified when he saw the hostel, or perhaps a little guilty because he would be staying in an expensive hotel that night. The welcome we received was friendly.The room was compact and hot but that was well sorted after we opened the windows up a little bit. Beds were clean and comfortable comfortable, very to have easy access to light and plug points to charge their gadgets. Nice to know that there is a fridge you can use if you have an early start you can make pack ups.
 There was no canoeing or wall climbing activity on due to a lack of safety adviser being available. Staff helped with suggestion for a lovely walk which also provided for good photo opportunity. The weather was turning  so came back to the centre and the staff were only happy to help  and set up a game of table tennis and domino. We hopped  on to a bus for for a pleasant journey to Helensbrugh. This being our 1st hostle experience it was good and would definitely use the base again.

This is a great wee hostel, part of the Centre 81 community centre in Garelochead. It really feels like you are staying in an important part of the village community. The hostel itself is spotless, warm and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, and coffee, tea, milk, bread etc are included in the price. The staff are great, friendly and welcoming. If you are walking the Three Lochs Way and want a good half-way overnight break, this is the place. And if you feel the need for more exercise, there is a very comprehensive gym in the building! In Garelochhead itself, the Anchor Inn (just down the road) does a reasonable bar meal, and the DayToday convenience store opens from 7am to 9pm if you need sandwiches, filled rolls and basic food supplies.

Stay in the centre of the community!

A friend and I stayed here for one night while walking the three lochs way. We couldn't have asked for better accomodation for the night. We were slightly later than expected and a member of staff phoned to check our progress and waited patiently until we arrived nearly an hour late! He was understanding and polite. The hostel was warm and comfortable. Overall, we were very impressed with the cleanliness throughout the building including our room (twin room), the kitchen and the bathroom. Breakfast facilities were basic but fine. I would reccomend this to any other walkers who are looking for a pit stop after stages 1 & 2 that will set them up well for stages 3 & 4. Good job guys!

Highly Reccomend

We stayed here with our swim team and we couldn't not have had more help and kind gestures from the amazing team of youngsters. We came from Islay for a weekend wth a group of adults and children for a swim comp. the children were entertained and the staff were absolutely amazing. The place is clean and food fantastic. What a place.
