On arrival the reception is freezing and there is a little bell to ring for attention but nevertheless it was clean and festive. Our room was lovely and big a little dated with the odd light bulb out but the bed was super comfy and lovely and warm and clean. Breakfast was wonderful, hot and fresh and plenty of choice. The owner made the stay for us. She cannot do enough for you. Making sure your ok. Making your toast for you. Giving you a bigger cup as the ones were too small. Just really nice attentive service. She said the Hotel was the former home of the Duke of Norfolk many years ago. Although the property could be perceived to be dated I would say its antique, friendly, warm and clean and deserves far more recognition. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely stay

My partner and I spent 3 nights here to relax before attending a wedding at the weekend somewhere else locally. This venue is lovely in the countryside with beautiful grounds. 
The staff were so lovely they even gave us a free upgrade due to mobility issues my boyfriend has which was so kind of them! Our room was perfect and the bath was amazing after a long day exploring Hereford. 
Breakfast was delicious - especially the sausages and when we had to leave early on Saturday morning they even made us bacon sandwiches to take with us! I'd recommend Munstone House to stay to anyone wanting somewhere peaceful and very comfortable to stay. Thank you! 

Little pre wedding get away

A dated and dusty guesthouse in need of complete renovation. My bedroom was shabby with only a large bath in the en-suite and no shower. No food or drink is available in the evening and breakfast was average. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and I slept well.

Hotel seems abandoned. Nobody was there so we rang the number on the sign. No answer. Rang the number on Google. No answer. Saw another sign with a different number on - finally, an answer! We were at a wedding all day so asked if we could pick up the keys around 11pm. They said yes, someone will be there for us. We got back at 11:30 to find a random pair of keys on the desk with no note. Tried ringing all 3 numbers from earlier but no answer from any. Found our room ourselves with great difficulty. Next morning we awoke to see how bad the room actually was. There was a hole in the grubby bath, the beds springs were broken (explains bad nights sleep) and there was no shower or hot water?! The whole hotel itself just needs demolishing and rebuilding. There is no refurbishing this place. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Pay a little more and go for a Travelodge in town. Disgusting service and amenities.

I booked this hotel well in advance (4 months prior) and recommended it to friends as we were attending a wedding. One week prior to our stay a lady called with little remorse to tell me that she’s cancelling my reservation due to ongoing renovation work. She had the cheek to say she’d called with plenty of time to find alternative arrangements as well.

I have seen similar reviews littered about the internet regarding this hotel, do not rely on this establishment.

Last Minute Cancellation

Booked at last minute, some really good things and some mixed. Was torn between 3 and 4 rating but the staff we dealt with were friendly so went for 4. Room was comfortable and a decent size - had the family room for myself and daughter. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was good. Electrics in room left a bit to be desired but just niggles and Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room. Breakfast was similar - best fried bread ever but sausages not the best, Good quality coffee and orange juice but bargain beans. Would stop again just needs a few things tweaking to make it a solid 4 rating

1st July 2022     If you want to experience the real FAWLTY TOWERS, this is the place for you! 
We have never before felt an almost instant desire to turn around and leave a place but the Munstone House Country Hotel (sic), in Hereford gave us exactly that.   The electric socket supplying the kettle was loose, the plumbing was hanging off the wall, the bathroom door is warped so much that it does not close, the walk in shower we had expected there was not. The four poster bed was pushed hard up into the corner so that one had to clamber across the other to get out of bed. The place is very badly decorated and it feels like they are about to sell up!  
There is no kitchen, no bar, no restaurant, we had to drive off at 9pm to try and find a place to eat, and breakfast (ha!) was a wet ham sandwich, some fruit, a yogurt, a bottle of orange juice and a tub of dried oats that required hot water adding, was presented in a paper bag for us to take back to our room and eat.  
Very unimpressed by now we dared to make comment only for the manager to launch into what must be a well-repeated tirade of defensive and angry abuse which even Basil Fawlty would have been hard pushed to match.  There was absolutely no acknowledgment let alone acceptance that anything was wrong or worthy of our negative feedback.
Astounded by all this, and still reeling from the verbal assault we had just received we left and drove down the road to The Premier Inn, on Holmer Road, HR4 9RS Tel 0333 003 1722 who employ the most empathetic and lovely people imaginable, and were received a totally opposite experience that has convinced us to only ever use the Premier in future.

Worse than Fawlty Towers.

Arrived in the car park, and the general area was really pretty:) Really nice old lady showed me to my room which was wonderful. Comfortable bed, a beautiful bathroom and contained everything you would’ve ever needed. Will come again:)

A wonderful stay

I stay over at hotels for my job, so experienced a lot of hotels over the years. I came across this one and stayed over last night. I am so glad that I did. I have never rebooked the same hotel based on such a positive experience, but I have already booked Munstone House for next week. What did I love? Everything, but to be specific the room was amazing, very clean which is a must, and yes dated but I love a bit of history and old pieces of furniture. I had a wonderful nights sleep, it was so quiet and the bed was super comfy. It is located in stunning grounds with plenty of walks available. The lady who welcomed me in was so lovely and helpful. And to top it off when I went to check out there was a packed breakfast and lunch to take-away, who does that? I cant recommend this enough.

The nicest stay for a while

We stayed here last night as a couple. Upon arrival we called a number and were greated swiftly by a lovely lady who walked us through some grand spacious areas and then took us up to our room.
We were in Norfolk suite which was a beautiful large room with lots of matching soft furnishings around a grand comfortable 4 poster bed. The room was clean and contained EVERYTHING you could possibly need! Including an unexpected large television with freeveiw - off this room was an unexpected but excellent modern bathroom which contained a jacuzzi bath and large shower.
This morning we were presented with 'breakfast bags' containing lovely fresh sandwhiches and lots of other choices.
Overall an excellent stay, we will deffiantly be back and recommending to others!
