Hosts were very welcoming. We stayed in the studio which was fantastic. Very comfortable with great facilities. The stream running at the back was lovely and the location is beautiful, couldn't have asked for more.

2 night stay in September

We stayed at Ladygate in 2016.  We were very pleased to return in October 2019.  The weather was cold and wet when we arrived.  The welcome was warm.  

Liz and Dave continue to run Ladygate as one of the finest B&Bs imaginable.  Once again, we stayed in the Jasmine room. Three years on it is maintained to perfection - with new carpet recently installed.  

Our room was warm and very comfortable - as we expected.  Liz and Dave remain welcoming and enthusiastic.  The front garden that was being built in 2016 has matured and remained in flower into deep autumn.  

Breakfast (cold fruits and cereals etc and also various freshly cooked hot choices) was just about perfect in 2016 and remains just as pleasing in 2019.  

Will we stay again?  We will but the beautiful hills of Hayfield and New Mills are a long way from Sydney...  Even so, soon we hope!



Reliably Excellent

This is the second time that we have stayed here, but the first time we have stayed in the flat, and it so comfortable and peaceful, Liz and Dave are perfect hosts and are very helpful, we loved it so much that we gave rebooked for next year.

Peaceful

We have just returned from an Easter weekend away. We stayed in the self catering studio and do not have a bad word. The kitchen and living area catered for everything, the bathroom was very clean and spacious and the bedroom was so very comfy and cosy! The patio area was stunning and just what we needed to have a relax in the evening. Great hosts. Great stay. Would 100% recommend. 

One word of advice though - the Grouse Inn is listed on one of their places to eat in the information pack. DO NOT EAT HERE! Only a 3 star food hygiene rating and we saw the owner walk 2 dogs out of the kitchen. Decor was very outdated and all in all, not great quality food.

An exemplary little B&B. Lovely house in a very quiet rural spot. Beautifully presented room and lots of lovely little touches. We were made to feel very welcome. Fantastic breakfast too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Lovely hosts; lovely house

Beautiful farmhouse in amazing countryside. Immaculate and comfortable rooms, excellent hospitality, coupled with extreme kindness. Made my 92 year old fathers birthday visit extra special when revisiting his childhood home and family. Everything you could want, with a good choice for breakfast. 
Thank you so much for all your care. For someone who was so nervous you made him feel like a VIP. He keeps saying all of the above, so a big thanks from us all. 

Outstanding accommodation and hosts

My wife and I have just returned home from a very pleasant stay at Ladygate Farm B&B. We stayed in the Jasmine room which was really comfortable and cozy with light refreshments (including fresh milk) provided. This really is a lovely room but from the standard of the other “guest areas” I saw, I would say the other rooms would be equally as inviting. The whole place was spotless. On leaving, we were shown the studio which is self catering and would be very tempting as an alternative to B&B on a future visit.

Just one final comment, the breakfasts were brilliant!
