Always a pleasure to stay at the Bower House, comfortable rooms and an unrivaled brand of excellent hospitality right through from the restaurant to the bar. It is actually hard to get those walking boots on - you have to tear yourself away to enjoy he diverse surrounding walks which will also not disappoint. Highly recommended

Let the good times roll

10 of us stayed here for the best ever weekend. I simply cannot recommend enough. The rooms, the food, the beer, the wine and the breakfast were perfect, but the highlight was the welcome. And not just by the staff but the locals and their dogs! Every single part was perfect. 
And a huge thank you to the best barman we have ever met.

What a wonderful place this is. Location is beautiful but the staff, the atmosphere,  food and warmth of all is outstanding.  They are amazing and so kind to dogs. I can't wait to go back

Wonderful place

Gorgeous spot, lovely, welcoming staff, great food to fill hungry, weary teenage boys, fabulous beer garden and comfortable, clean rooms. The service was excellent for dinner, breakfast, drinks and the absolute icing on the cake: When I left my precious hiking boots behind in their boot room, Bower House Inn were happy to post them to me! Highly recommend and will happily return!

Wonderful

We have been staying in the area for 7 days and each night we went to a local restaurant. Bower House Inn was the best we found. Service was second to none and the food was fantastic. 

One to seek out and enjoy.

Best restaurant in the area

As soon as I arrived I was greeted with warm welcome which was maintained by all the staff until I left.  By far would highly recommend anyone stay here.  Walked the langdales and was tired upon arrival but soon found my second wind by the greet,  great bar atmosphere by the staff and especially marshy and a few of the locals who were so friendly.  Drinks and food were excellent and portions generous.  All in all a great weekend by far and will stay again without any doubt.

Such a welcome by far

I stayed at the Bower House Inn with my teenage son after a day's hill climbing and it was such a wonderful place that I quickly arranged to go back with my dog a few weeks later, so that I could explore the area. The staff are friendly and helpful and the inn itself is a lovely building - I've stayed in both the main inn and the annexe. The food is also very good - both the breakfasts and the evening meals - and the surrounding area is well worth exploring. I can't wait to return!

Stayed for a couple of nights, what a great place, staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, food was incredible, we were treated like locals and the dogs loved it, a must if you are in the area

Fantastic place

In common with other good reviews the stand out aspect of this place is the friendleness of the staff. We have never been before, only stayed 1 night but were treated like locals. Marshy and Geezer were amazing and made us feel so welcome. The food was very good and the place was full so it's better to reserve  a table if you intend to eat. It was hard to fault anything during our stay and we would not hesitate to return in future if in the area.

Fantastic!

Had a two night stay, arrived Monday whist the pub quiz was going on, next time we will get there earlier so we can join in as it sounded really good fun. Spot on steak and ale pie, but all the food was excellent including breakfast. Very friendly people running it, good beer, will definitely be returning.
