Carol has a lovely property close to the ferry terminal. She is very welcoming and helpful. Just before breakfast there was a power cut to the area. Carol responded brilliantly producing a great breakfast in spite of having no power. Strongly recommended. 

Perfect for ferry

Me and my girlfriend stayed at applebey for 4 nights, Carol was a great host, to the point she offered to park her car on the street so my motorcycle was safe on her drive overnight, lovely clean room, tended to every day, breakfast was spot on, Carole is running things on her own, but is making it look so easy, we would reccomend this as a place to stay, we will be goin back, thanks Carol

We booked this guest house having seen the details on booking.com and booked 2 rooms for four people. Carole, the host, is a very nice person and very welcoming from the start and able to give some good ideas for day trips.
The rooms were absolutely spotless and serviced every day. Homely type bedroom arrangement which is a lot better than most guest houses in the UK. Decoration is very fresh and no wear on anything. Breakfast was very good quality and enough for a good start to the day. Well cooked and always nice and hot. Cooked just as you sit down.
You would be unlikely to find a better guest house in Holyhead and this one is superb for a small house with just Carole to run it.
Excellent value all round and off street parking for both our cars.

4 Night break

A beautiful home from home 2 minutes walk from Holyhead Harbour .... peaceful and quiet location.... 
Genuinely lovely hosts .... wonderful breakfasts that set us up for a busy day of exploring the Island and enjoying the sunshine .... ever so comfortable rooms, slept better than at home in a cosy bed and clean homely rooms .... we're planning when we can next come back. It was a truly lovely time spent here and a jewel of a find!

Definitely Coming Back!!

Staying one night in Holyhead We stayed at Applebys Guest house.
Owner Carol was very hospitable from the outset. The room was spotless and comfortable and had all usual convieniences.
There was a small off-street car park in front which helps. 
Breakfast was lovely , hot and fresh. If youre traveling a couple or alone I would highly recommend. I doubt you would find better value anywhere!
I would stay here again when Im in town despite what some reviews from years ago might suggest..great guest house and host!😊

Holiday in Holyhead!

We were a tad worried that our ferry would leave us late to chot eck in. a quick phone call to Applebys confirmed that this was not a problem and were advised that a parking space was available for us. Upon arrival we were met and shown to our room. 
We were made comfortable in our stay and any information we needed was given. For example, we could not pay using our debit/credit card. Not a problem as a cashpoint was nearby. 
Our details for the next days breakfast was taken upon arrival.  We turned up early for breakfast. This wasn't a problem, we had cereal and fruit juice and breakfast came quickly. The proprietors cook to order. 
At £60 per night for me and the Mrs this is exceptional value for money- they could quite easily charge £70-80.

a much appreciated rest after the Dublin ferry

Nice menu surprisingly delicious especially baby back ribs. Love the vegetables and seafood entrees. Love the three course meals as well and the fruit lemonades. I will definitely recommend especially for families.

Delicious and Economical menu

We booked for one night turned up at 4pm on a Saturday night to be told we were not welcome with children one of our party had already booked in child at his side ordered breakfast and was ready to pay as we turned up and went in to pay and the woman told my daughter she had booked under false pretences whilst wagging her finger at her saying no children were allowed even though they had just booked in our friend with 1 child.They said its on their website "no children" which yes it is but we booked with booking.com and didnt check the website as we only wanted 1 night and booking.com didnt say no children when we put in 3 adults and 3 children.And the fact that they allowed our friend and child to book in prior to us arriving meant that clearly they accepted children at that point .They left us searching for a room at 4pm on a busy Saturday night with 3 children under 10 who were all upset thinking they had nowhere to sleep for the night.We had already driven almost 2 hours to get there and just wanted to unpack go out for a meal and then get to bed ready for an early start the next day.The woman can only be described as a dragon and the old man as a horrible antiquated fossil and that is me being polite.They need to learn some "empathy" cos clearly they are lacking in it.What sort of decent people leave 3 small children and 3 adults without accommodation like that in a place we dont know truly disgusting behaviour from a fellow human being.Avoid like the plague there are lots of comments on here of people who feel the same too who have also been treated badly.We were lucky and found a room around the corner for 1/2 the price went out for a meal and got our heads down  :(
